Add one more mantra to the memes of the crazies... T'was coined yesterday at the White House while entertaining the NBA World Champions Miami Heat.

"Basketballs don't bounce - BUSH's fault!"

Love him or hate him one very important thing can be said about Rush Limbaugh.

He is one of if not the most accurate pundits in America today. He often loves to play up his accuracy ratings on his show. But it all underlies a major point - better than 9 times out of 10 - he's right!

Someone else I began observing/listening to during the Clinton impeachment era was Dick Morris. Having more supreme access to the Clintons than almost anyone at important moments of their political life his work in documenting the true Clinton record has made him the author of multiple New York Times bestsellers.

But when it comes to punditry make no mistake Morris is pretty hit or miss. When Limbaugh gets observations/predictions wrong - the arrow has normally landed on the black line on the outer edge of the bullseye. Morris many times flies right into the I-beam of the barn door behind the target.

I think part of it is selfish on Morris' part - and heck why not. If Billary comes back to the White House, Morris will be the most in demand political analyst for the duration of their public life. If not - he'll still do well (after all Senator Screech will still be sucking up oxygen on C-Span) but it won't be nearly the same.

Morris got it dreadfully wrong yesterday. Here at TownHall he wrote: "BLACKS MAY DOOM OBAMA"

His theory is that Obama will have to carry overwhelming percentages in the Dem primary for him to have a chance. Maybe he hasn't noticed the fact that Obama is averaging 15,000-17,000 per campaign appearance in recent weeks. Maybe he hasn't noticed that Hillary is drawing a paltry 3,000-5,000 per stop.

Maybe that's why Hillary is busy offering her house slaves $10,000 a month to be her songbirds.

Maybe Dick didn't see this: "BLACK VOTERS SHIFT TO OBAMA"

And maybe he didn't read up on what I wrote late last year about Obama's complete ease around voters of every ethnic stripe.

I agree with Morris that Obama will have to compete for every vote - Black, White, Hispanic and otherwise. But so will Hillary. When Obama ran for U.S. Senate it was the most surreal thing - news cameras would catch him campaigning in downstate Illinois sitting on stacks of feed bags in grain stores with farmers, dressed in flannel. For most politicians it would seem presumptive, fake, and manipulative. And while it could have totally been those things and more - the point was the mostly white, rural, and many times racist farmers of downstate totally bought it.

And Hillary just can't pull that off.

It's wrong... but the cost for honest people to become citizens is about to triple... Really not fair but what can be done when everyone in Washington DC insists on doing absolutely nada about our wide open, unsecured borders?

According to Newsweek, New York City officials are reviving concerns about Iranian based terror attacks.

Such attacks could be aimed at bridges and tunnels, Jewish organizations and Wall Street, NYPD briefers told security execs last fall, according to a person with access to the briefing materials who asked for anonymity because of the sensitive subject matter.

Here's why:

NYPD officials have worried about possible Iranian-sponsored attacks since a series of incidents involving officials of the Iranian Mission to the United Nations. In November 2003, Ahmad Safari and Alireaza Safi, described as Iranian Mission "security" personnel, were detained by transit cops when they were seen videotaping subway tracks from Queens to Manhattan at 1:10 in the morning. The men later left New York. "We're concerned that Iranian agents were engaged in reconnaissance that might be used in an attack against New York City at some future date," Police Commissioner Raymond W. Kelly told NEWSWEEK. A spokesman for the Iranian Mission in New York said he was aware of the allegations but had no immediate comment.

I want some serious Presidential Candidate stalking to start taking place - with every man, woman, and child that speaks to the gaggle - begging for our votes, "What will you do about this?"

This administration has completely mishandled this economy. This President is so out to lunch when it comes to the long term economic impact of his horrific tax cuts for the rich... Before you know it we're going to be stuck with even more rich people, paying more taxes, spreading their wealth, ripping people of welfare...

It's shocking...

Hideous...

Appalling...

As per usual, I was up early this morning checking my e-mail when I received a note from a fellow TownHall staffer - it reads as follows:

Hi Kevin-
I met you at the Salem Radio Convention in D.C. last year—I'm the graphic designer for Townhall.com. My cousin, Eric Volz, was convicted in Nicaragua of a brutal rape/murder and sentenced to 30 years. However, he was 2 hours away from the crime scene, with signed affidavits, witnesses that testified on his behalf, cell phone and instant messenger transcripts and a car rental receipt indicating so. The judge threw out all of this evidence and convicted him, anyway.

The family is worried for his life--word on the street is that he will be killed as to resolve this situation. He's currently in a prison you and I wouldn't board our dogs in.

If you could be of any assistance to bring anyone's attention to this matter, I think it's important. We should be able to assist our country's citizens that are being abused by other governments and inform people that it is not safe for Americans in other countries if even our embassies and diplomats can do nothing to protect is in a situation such as Eric's.

I appreciate your time and help. I can email you additional materials such as a facts statement, or you can find it on the web site:
www.friendsofericvolz.com

Thank you.

In looking through the site I did find the story and it seems just down right rotten. Read it over... write a letter of support and contact Congressional representatives...

Here's the barebones of it all...

Doris Ivanez Jimenez was murdered on Tuesday, November 21, 2006, between 11:45 am and 1:00 pm, inside a clothing store she owned, Sol Fashion, in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua.

On the day of her murder, Eric Volz was over two (2) hours away in Managua. The proof that Eric was in Managua and innocent of this crime is conclusive. Many witnesses have given written statements and will testify that Eric was in Managua on the day of the murder. These statements are available to anyone who would like to review them. In addition to these many eyewitnesses, no physical evidence exists that would connect Eric to this murder.

Throughout the evening of November 20, 2006, Eric was in Managua at the house where he lived. Eric's house also serves as the offices of EP magazine, a bilingual Central American magazine. Eric awoke there the morning of November 21, 2006, and entered the office area at around 9:15 am. The housekeeper, a security guard and no fewer than five EP workers were there at the time, saw Eric, and have given written statements confirming this fact. Eric's defense counsel has these written statements, which are available for anyone to review.

At around 10:30 am, Eric received a visit from Maria Mercedes, who works at Etica y Transparencia, a non-profit organization. Maria had been on the cover of the launch issue of EP. Maria Mercedes brought along a friend and they met with Eric at the offices for about half an hour, until approximately 11:00 am.

Around 11:30 am, Eric met with Ricardo Castillo, a potential contributing editor who is a journalist working with diverse foreign media including the BBC of London and America Economia. Several EP workers observed the meeting with Castillo. This meeting also included a telephone conference call with Castillo and a business contact in Atlanta, Georgia (USA), Nick Purdy.

This 54-minute conference call ended at 1:15 pm and is documented by phone records that are available to anyone who wishes to review them. Also available are Nick Purdy's personal notes and instant messages (IM) from Eric showing that in total the two were engaged in intensive, back and forth business communications from approximately 9:21 am until 2:07 pm. In addition to these telephone records, cell phone records for Eric's cell phone also confirm Eric's use of his cell phone in Managua that day.

Eric then had lunch with Mr. Castillo and an EP employee at the same house in Managua. The lunch, prepared by the housekeeper, Martha Aguirre, was witnessed by other EP colleagues. Castillo left the house around 1:30 pm. Mr. Castillo and Mr. Purdy have provided written statements that are also available for anyone's review.

Eric was at his house in Managua with at least five people when he received the tragic news that Doris was dead. Around that same time, 2:30 pm, yet another witness arrived, a hair stylist who had been previously scheduled to be there. She, too, saw Eric at the house in Managua.

At about 3 pm, Eric rented a car, as he had done many other times, to get to San Juan del Sur and help Doris' family. Although Eric had a car in Managua, the rental vehicle was better suited to pass slow traffic on the road to San Juan. The car was delivered by the rental agency to the Managua house. Eric did not meet with the rental car staff himself. One of his employees brought the rental car credit vouchers inside the house for Eric to sign. Eric's Nicaraguan counsel has copies of the vouchers showing that Eric signed the credit voucher for the car. Cell phone records show that Eric was using his cell phone in the greater Managua area until 4:31 pm that afternoon. On his way to San Juan del Sur, Eric went to Rivas to pick up Doris' father, Ivan Jimenez. They then proceeded to San Juan del Sur where Eric assisted the family with Doris' funeral arrangements and attended her funeral.

After her funeral, Eric stayed in San Juan and pressed the police to take action. On November 23, 2006, Eric was arrested for the murder. The prosecution alleges that Eric was in San Juan del Sur at the time of the crime and that he, along with two others, raped and killed Doris. Despite the conclusive proof that Eric was in Managua at the time of the crime, he remains imprisoned pending a trial now set on January 26, 2007. While in prison, Eric at least twice has been physically threatened, and on one occasion Eric was almost killed by a mob of over 200 outside the courthouse.

Does it take a brain surgeon to figure out that if non-citizens are taking part in "your democracy" that soon forces will manipulate that process to make it no longer "your country?"

Fair question isn't it?

In the past 6 months have there been two more disappointing Senators in the GOP than John "Let's make kissy face with the Dems" Warner, and John "I hate %$#*&ing Rumsfeld" McCain.

Well one has now endorsed the other...

Yawn...

These devices are supposedly capable of ripping through body armor and armored vehicles.

Hence the recurring $1,000,000 question for the Democratic candidates for President: "If this weapons stash is proven to be Iranian in its origin... how would/will you respond?"

I'm also loving the fact that now three countries have given Israel flyover permission to hit Iran if necessary...

Address the gathered throngs at CPAC coming up the end of this week.

CPAC is the largest gathering of conservatives. Like minded folks from across the nation show up in the thousands to talk taxes, defense, terror, economic growth, gun rights, abortion, marriage, and the list goes on.

This morning CPAC sent out the most recent Press Release confirming that Rudy Giuliani will be addressing the group at 12noon on Friday.

The Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) announced that former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani will address the conference on Friday March 2, 2007 at 12:00 p.m. in the Omni Shoreham Hotel’s Regency Ballroom in Washington D.C.

“As Mayor of New York City from 1994 through 2001, Rudy Giuliani installed the management principles of efficiency and effectiveness in city government, reducing crime, reforming welfare, cutting taxes 23 times and reducing the size the City bureaucracy. Through his efforts, the city’s historic deficit was transformed into a multi-billion dollar surplus,” said American Conservative Union Executive Vice President J. William Lauderback. ACU is the lead sponsor of CPAC.

“Americans of every political stripe respect and appreciate the brand of leadership Mayor Giuliani exhibited in the wake of 9/11. The indelible image of the man known as ‘America’s Mayor’ directing our immediate response to those attacks accurately reflected our nation’s inherent and collective strength. CPAC is pleased to welcome Mayor Giuliani and we are pleased to offer him this opportunity to explain to our audience his vision for our leading our nation,” concluded Lauderback.

This is a good thing for Hizzhonor to do. He has stood opposed to the conservative stronghold positions on abortion and the redefining of marriage. He needs to come make the case as to why people who hold strongly held beliefs about those issues should vote for him.

I don't know if it will be enough - but I will assure you of one thing...

The fact that John McCain refuses to come anywhere near CPAC will add to his complete downfall. Rudy will get points for coming and having a dialogue. Embittered McCain, should he decide not to accept CPAC's invitation, will have given the group already most inclined to view him with skepticism - reason to  renew their scorn.

It should be a great time. Come on and join us...

TownHall will be in its usual spot in the exhibit hall. Mary Katharine Ham may be joining me for one of the two broadcast days that I do the show from there. I will be making an appearance/signing some books for the awesome Young America's Foundation constituents, and I will sign books for CPAC on Friday at Noon, immediately following my scheduled slot in the Main Hall.

UPDATE: Michelle is going, signing books the same day I am, and is going to have the HotAir cameras turned on in full force. She's right - it IS turning into the "can't miss" event of 2007.

Michelle and Bryan had this up at HotAir a few days back. I somehow missed it - but YOU shouldn't. Listen to Hillary - in her own words... pledge to help our enemies.

This woman would sell out her own daughter if she thought it would increase her power. Which I now guess explains why she is selling out the troops, cheering for defeat, and promising aid and comfort to those we are standing strong against.

True conservatives are in a bind in 2008, at least so far...

But as the super-secretive Council for National Policy broke camp this weekend the New York Times picked up on the chance to highlight all the "lack of consensus."

And to their credit - made some very valid points...

But in a stark shift from the group’s influence under President Bush, the group risks relegation to the margins. Many of the conservatives who attended the event, held at the beginning of the month at the Ritz-Carlton on Amelia Island, Fla., said they were dismayed at the absence of a champion to carry their banner in the next election.

Many conservatives have already declared their hostility to Senator John McCain of Arizona, who once denounced Christian conservative leaders as “agents of intolerance,” and former Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani of New York, a liberal on abortion and gay rights issues who has been married three times.

But many were also deeply suspicious of former Gov. Mitt Romney of Massachusetts; the council has been distributing to its members a dossier prepared by a Massachusetts conservative group about liberal elements of his record on abortion, stem cell research, gay rights and gun control. Mr. Romney says he has become more conservative.

And some members of the council have raised doubts about lesser known candidates — Gov. Mike Huckabee of Arkansas and Representative Duncan Hunter of California, who were invited to Amelia Island to address an elite audience of about 60 of its members, and Senator Sam Brownback of Kansas, who spoke to the full council at its previous meeting, in October in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Although each of the three had supporters, many conservatives expressed concerns about whether any of the candidates could unify their movement or raise enough money to overtake the front-runners, several participants in the meetings said.

I talk about it at length in my book, but I reiterate... our children will be consumed by this culture that resents - RESTRAINT.

If it feels good - don't!
