The nutroots haven't settled on who the top of the ticket should be yet for the Democrats in 2008. But wouldn't Michael Vick make the "ideal" Veep nominee? From his name recognition, from sex scandals, to his appeal to Jesse Jackson recruited voters (felons), to his fall from grace and his need to forgive, and ultimately how he can articulate the "moral authority" of the platform as uniquely as anyone... Vick's got it all!

On a somewhat unrelated note(s), thanks for your forgiveness for the slower posting and "moving dust" in and around this blog. TownHall has upgraded many of the features of how we are able to post and this has come with considerable time and energy - and I KNOW that the final product will be something you come to enjoy more and more.

I will be more or less absent from this space for the next 8 days. The Lovely Bride has endured a series of what seem to be increasingly serious health issues for the last three months. Couple that with the fact that we haven't taken a real vacation in almost four years and the time has come for us to power down, hibernate, and recharge for a bit. There will likely be no new syndicated columns, blog posts, and no new radio content for about a week. After that I expect that you will see the energy level return on all fronts. (And we will be attacking the completing of my next book with much focus!)

Everything about the MuscleHead Revolution has been in the process of improving/updating over the last month. Many readers ask on a regular basis about how they can access the radio listening here online. Good thing you asked, I'd like you to book mark this page here at WMCA-AM 570 in New York. This page is your ultimate one stop shop for EVERYTHING related to the Revolution. Of course you can easily navigate back and forth from there to the blog here on Townhall. You can listen "live" each weekday from 2-4pm EST via the digital streaming (and it sounds better than ever.) But we've also tried to make your life easier by adding "on demand listening." Accessible via download to your computer/pda/iPod, or by just listening off your computer - any time YOU want to, whenever it fits YOUR schedule. This page will also be the temporary home of the "McCullough PUNCH" my weekly video commentary. TOWNHALL will be the future home of "the PUNCH" perhaps in September, but it will take us a while to transfer the technology/files from the YouTUBE universe to the new ROO system here at TownHall. On this same page you can join my MySpace or Facebook communities, we are active on both and you love to add you as a friendly face. We also made it super easy to subscribe via iTunes to the podcast delivery of the radio show AND the "PUNCH" through a simple one click process. We've also made it easier than ever to get back and forth from TownHall and WMCA!

One of my favorite new areas of the online "MuscleHead Revolution" is our new resource center/bookstore called "The Command Post." By clicking through to it you can now find not only what's on my reading stand, but also what The Lovely Bride recommends, and coming soon V-man's list as well. With expanded sections of DVD's, films, music, television, and even gourmet cooking recommendations we have tried to let you into the world behind the scenes of the on-air operations as best we're able.

Speaking of which as we head out today to a place where nobody knows who we are, and I'd be surprised if we even get internet, the Lovely Bride and I are taking some reading material along and here's what's in our bags:

For me I'm a sucker for the "World War" era of our nation's history to present day, which is why I've been waiting eagerly for Bill Bennett's follow up to his historical anthology of the United States simply titled: AMERICA. At over 500 pages, if I finish it, I am bringing along Douglas Brinkley's: The Reagan Diaries.

The Lovely Bride stood in line last night at midnight to get the final installment of Harry Potter, she now has them all and our 6am flight ought to be really fun - but she didn't want to go on vacation without it. She has also recently been catching up on her history of the royals so a read of The Other Boleyn Girl will be fun as well.

Long story short, its summer, lots of changes in the look, feel, and access to everything MuscleHead and we hope and pray that it is helpful!

Speaking of prayers, for those of you who do - please continue to hold up the Lovely Bride - she means an awful lot to me, and continues to be the most amazing support, friend, and encourager I've ever known!.

There is much immediate speculation on whether or not a large explosion underground in New York City was an incident of terror or freak accident.

1 person dead, 12 injured.

Debris was thrown 20 floors high...

City officials asking people to leave the area. From the NBC Chopper 4 feed, the crater looks HUGE.

Latest developments

So who wrote this?

Does it take an entire broadcast hour for each of them to "out gay" the other one? Will Obama and/or Edwards show up in Chiffon? Will Hillary pass love notes to Etheridge?

What will happen is that each of these candidates will have to also later face the same "faith-based" audiences that they have been attempting to woo in recent weeks. Heaven forbid, but Obama might even have to make a follow up appearance in Rick Warren's pulpit to announce the results of his most recent AIDS test. And what will they have to say then?

Why yes I did... all of two days ago... and here I am being proven correct... AGAIN!  From next week's TIME Magazine... (man this is getting too easy...)

In this campaign season, if Clinton and Barack Obama and John Edwards are any measure, there will be nothing unusual in Democrats' talking about the God who guides them and the beliefs that sustain them. Clinton has hired Burns Strider, a congressional staffer (and evangelical Baptist from Mississippi) who is assembling a faith steering group from major denominations and sends out a weekly wrap-up, Faith, Family and Values. Edwards has been organizing conference calls with progressive religious leaders and is about to embark on a 12-city poverty tour. In the past month alone, Obama's campaign has run six faith forums in New Hampshire, where local clergy and laypeople discuss religious engagement in politics. "We talk about ways people of faith have gone wrong in the past, what they have done right and where they see it going in the future," says his faith-outreach adviser, Joshua DuBois. Speeches on everything from the budget to immigration to stem-cell research are carefully marinated in Scripture.

Even though the Democrats swore they wouldn't... Senator Boxer is pushed by nutroot radio host Ed Schwarz to consider it.

And the reasons?

Scooter Libby commutation while the appeals process continues... (completely legal and well within the Constitutional powers of the sitting President.)

Sara Taylor's refusal to answer questions... (within her Constitutional rights.)

Alberto Gonzales' firing of 8 fed prosecutors... (within his right and responsibility in service to the President, AND well within the Constitutional powers of the Executive Branch - for any reason they so please... political or not.)

Well here she is Senator Barbara "thick as a box of bricks" Boxer:

That's probably not a question you woke up thinking about...

The judge has said "no" but only on a temporary basis, and she has already warned the church to be ready to expect penalties if the court does not decide the permanent question in their favor. THAT doesn't sound good... and to the tune of $90,000 to start off with!

More info from Times Square Church.

In January...remember this...

Complaints are many from those of us who might be inclined to support him. He sought to author the end of political free speech with his unconstitutional campaign finance reform efforts. He seems clueless when it comes to one of the issues that his base voters care about – the protection of marriage. And he seems to be forgetting that an energized base is what he will need to win the GOP primaries much less the actual general election for President in the next go around.

Hmm... yup...and there was this...

"I think the fence is least effective. But I'll build the goddamned fence if they want it."

In those seventeen simple words the “maverick” (which the media invented through him) has all but signed his political death wish. Republicans can not trust McCain, and neither should the nation at large.

We told you in January that what is now happening to McCain WOULD happen...

Beware the MuscleHeads!

It needs to be said repeatedly, "When a Democrat invokes the Federal Deficit as reasons to raise taxes, he is ALWAYS lying." (Repeat Hourly)

Yesterday afternoon some truly GREAT information was released on the economy and again the MSM took it upon itself to do their absolute best to hide it from the American people.

The BUDGET DEFICIT will be closing in on only $205 Billion by the end of the year, some $39 Billion ahead of schedule from the Bush Administration's Februrary predictions that it would be somewheres around $244 Billion. And of course this follows the past few years at the peak of the war when discussion of the deficit usually invoked the word "trillion."

Truth be told the BUSH TAX CUTS have had such a huge impact on the average tax-payer that more money than we ever imagined has been flowing to the Fed in record numbers.

Democrats nearly ALWAYS lie, and the memes they have been whimpering about in recent weeks concerning the deficit - are literally drying up.

President Bush has predicted a surplus by 2012.

One financial observer in New York candidly revealed yesterday that at the rate the deficit is reducing - we might even see a surplus in the 2008 budget year - 4 years ahead of schedule, while waging war against terror, while maintaining 96% employment, while lowering taxes, while home ownership is at record high levels including previously impoverished African American demographics... and the list goes on.

If you are a liberal and still can not grasp the concept of how LOWERING taxes, also REDUCES the deficit, and for that matter helps poor people... then read the definitive explanation of how it works right here.

In one of the stranger moves yesterday, Hillary, Edwards, and Obama agreed to a one hour "gay" debate for LOGO-TV. Only weeks ago all three of them turned down Fox News Channel.

I penned my observations in my newest Wednesday column:

Homosexual behavior and Christianity do not mix. From the standpoint of theory, theology, doctrine, and practice the twoare totally and completely incompatible; as are adultery, pornography, bestiality, pedophilia, pre-marital sex, incest, cross dressing, multiple partner orgies and the list goes on. So the candidates can nothave it both ways.

The truth is Democrats are not now nor have they ever beeninterested in seriously committed faith based voters. They have no usefor true believers be they Jewish, Catholic, or Evangelical.

But they have an insatiable lust for the sexually depraved among us.Former President Clinton's Surgeon General Jocelyn Elders even gave hername and endorsement to a book that actually advocated pedophilia.

Today in the NYTimes is a headline story about the "controversial plans" for putting cameras up a la London all through out lower Manhattan for the purpose of monitoring cars and traffic. The images captured will help identify terror suspects and thwart terror plots around the extremely hard to navigate area of the city.

It will provide 3000 cameras below Canal Street and a video center staffed by police to watch the video feeds as well as operate controlled roadblocks. The plan will cost $90 million dollars.

Last year the Mayor of New York City went kvetching to the feds that $127 million would not be enough.

As I argued on Neil Cavuto's show last year - even publicly educated math students should be able to figure out that $127 million is more than $90 million.

This year NYC Police Commissioner Ray Kelly is again complaining that there is not enough money to install the camera program.

But why?

What happened to the $127 million NYC was granted last year from the feds? (And as I argued on Cavuto, the city should be growing less dependent on federal monies to cover security costs anyway.)

This year the feds are willing to give New York City another $100 million plus and Bloomberg, Kelly, Spitzer, Weiner, Rangel, Schumer, Clinton are all kvetching AGAIN that we're not getting enough money.

It's bad enough that they could have funded the camera program last year... AND DIDN'T.

It's bad enough that the feds are again giving us MORE THAN ENOUGH monies to fund the program this year... AND IT STILL HASN'T BEGUN.

But how does the New York political gaggle explain this?

New York has not spent 47% of the 1.4 BILLION dollars that the feds have dedicated to the state!

That's upwards of $700,000,000 dollars in unused funds... (700 million?)

Enough with all the complaining Bloomberg, get it in gear and get the camera program installed!

NOW!
