There have been several stories in recent days hitting mainly internet outlets decrying Barack Obama's "blackness." This is beyond rhetorically silly, and every news outlet that has printed such will soon see why.
For all the "polls" and prominent black leaders that are quoted in each of these pieces there are equal amounts of data that are being ignored.
If you want to see how Obama relates to the African American community directly go talk to Chicago South Siders. There is not a more proud black community in all of America than the geography that is home to Jesse Jackson, Muhammed Ali, Malcom X College, and the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition. Obama carried the south side, the west side, and every predominantly African American south suburb in his bid for the U.S. Senate - and did so even in the primary against 8 other democrats in devastating fashion.
In fact in the Senate race primaries - Obama garnered more votes in the primary than all of the GOP candidates combined, and more than all the rest of the Democratic field combined. (Driven by extremely high turn-out in predominantly heavy urban Chicago districts.

"Wherein the afflicted gain strength through the hatred of others..."
Seems to me that Ann should have a pretty good case for a lawsuit on this one. No permission to use her name or image... and obviously an attempt to disparage.

I think most Americans thought as I did that adding 6000 National Guard to the border patrol efforts of our southern border meant that we would actually be pro-active in defending the nation.
Earlier this month we saw a new low-point in the War On Terror, as it relates to our defenses. Up to as many as twelve armed men (with automatic weapons) burst through our border defenses and approach a border watch post where National Guardsmen were then forced to retreat. Out numbered 4 to 12 the National Guardsmen watched their position get surrounded with one of the assailants coming to within 35 feet of their position. All of the aliens had on fatigues, and carried automatic weapons.
Well now the lawmakers in Arizona want to know how and why...
I think the Governor's comments in the story are remarkable:
Democratic Gov. Janet Napolitano, National Guard officials and some state lawmakers defended the decision to call in the Border Patrol. The governor's office has said the rules allow Guard members to use force when they believe they face an imminent threat and all other means are exhausted.
"I don't think that it's up to the committee to negotiate the rules of engagement," Napolitano said. "Those rules of engagement were negotiated with the National Guard at the federal level."
So it is the FEDS who have instructed the National Guard not to engage or fire upon attackers in border patrol duties?
Wow - color me soooo not surprised.
And speaking of law enforcement who have fired upon alien criminals who violated our laws and communities. According to this report it appears that those two sheriffs office personnel who just got locked up in solitary for winging an escaping criminal alien in the hynie... may have had the evidence used against them - framed.

If I had been one of the policemen on duty at this weekend's Anti-War Rally, I probably would have lost my job for insubordination. In an UNBELIEVABLE series of events, police commanders actually gave direct orders to allow the whack-job protestors through their barricade and to be allowed to spray paint upon the physical property of the U.S. Capitol.
The Hill's story quotes several from the scene and describes them as livid.
Livid doesn't even begin to describe what I'm feeling...

I guess not all hope is lost for Russia... at least Moscow. Note that he made the bulk of these comments at a CHRISTMAS reading!
Moscow Mayor Yury Luzhkov said Monday he would never allow a gay parade to take place in Moscow despite pressure from the West, Russia’s RIA-Novosti news agency reports.
“Last year, Moscow came under unprecedented pressure to sanction the gay parade, which can be described in no other way than as Satanic,” Luzhkov said at the 15th Christmas educational readings in the Kremlin Palace.
“We did not let the parade take place then, and we are not going to allow it in the future,” said Luzhkov who has been in office since 1992.
The conservative 70-year-old mayor of the Russian capital also banned Portuguese bullfights in Moscow in 2001 for their violence and did not let the St. Petersburg-based rock group Leningrad perform in the city because of their explicit lyrics.
Luzhkov thanked the attending head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Alexy II, for his support at a time when, he said, the West is exerting considerable pressure on Moscow authorities and trying to promote gay relationships under the cover of creativity and freedom of expression.
“Religious thinkers throughout the world have said that the West has reached a crisis of faith. Some European nations bless single-sex marriages and introduce sexual guides in schools,” Luzhkov said. “Such things are a deadly moral poison for children.”

If the Democratic party runs on pay-to-play then Hillary is going hardball...
Very quietly, campaign fundraisers for Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton are reaching out to many of their bigger donors and reminding them that the Senator and her campaign have long memories. "You can't support everyone equally and expect that when the chips are down, the victor is going to remember you after election day," says one Clinton fundraiser. "Right now, in our view, it's not all right to be maxing out to Senator Obama at the same time that you claim to support Senator Clinton."

On her first trip to Iowa, Hillary wanted desperately to impress...
Unfortunately for her, I and every other radio host in the nation will be playing this footage of Hillary singing very much like a man (in both range and pitch) on an open mic... And I intend on playing it for friends who are coming over in an hour for dinner as well... it's worth more than a few giggles.

I had this story in my stack for on-air yesterday. Now that I've sat on it for 24 hours I'm even more angry about it.
First off, the author of the news copy should be fired... the verbal twists she puts in play just to take the side of the Illegal Alien - who has broken the law in even being here - and who is now suing to get something she does not deserve is just infuriating.
The former Little Village resident said officials with local radio station La Ley 107.9 FM and its parent company, Spanish Broadcasting System, withheld the gray sports car she won in a La Ley raffle when they discovered she was an undocumented resident.
Maribel Nava Alvarez claims she was threatened after winning a contest for a car like this one, a 1999 Corvette.
What's worse, she said, is that an SBS attorney allegedly threatened to alert authorities of her immigration status once he learned she intended to take her battle to court.
"I was very sad. I cried. ... My feelings were hurt because I was mocked," Alvarez, 22, said in her native Spanish on Wednesday. "It's unjust."
Never mind the fact that the contest requires one's status to be a legal resident of the state of Illinois and thus the United States.
Her attorney was outraged when the attorney's for the contest's sponsor held firm.
"I will caution you that if you insist on filing suit against SBS, I will in turn be forced to refer this matter to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement as I believe your client is in this country illegally. Please communicate that to your client for her consideration," Cueva wrote in a Dec. 19, 2005, letter to Alvarez's attorney, Federico Rodriguez.
Alvarez, who came to Chicago from Mexico when she was 7 and attended public schools, said she was so frightened she would be deported that she fled Illinois eight months ago with her two children to an undisclosed location. Only her mother knows where she currently resides.
"I'm in hiding. I had to leave my family behind. It was like starting over," said Alvarez, with Rodriguez at her side.
Basic common sense would tell a person that if you have been here since you were 7 and are now 22 that you have had ample time to "clear up" your status. But common sense would also tell you that entering a contest open only to legal residents is kind of dumb if you are not one... thus no need to go into hiding.
Speaking of common sense... are we now supposed to feel sorry for people who have broken the law, seen their fellow illegal aliens be arrested, and are now scared to return to work? Don't be scared... get the heck out of the country and get your status cleared.
And I'm thinking that arresting 423 criminal aliens is only a start...
