Not a moment too soon...
Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan is heading into what's billed as his final major address Sunday, and some Muslims are wondering if the fiery orator - now slowed by poor health - will try to repair old divisions between his movement and mainstream Islam.
Farrakhan's scheduled appearance at Ford Field, home of the NFL's Detroit Lions, will be his first since ceding leadership last year to an executive board because of illness.
The 73-year-old Farrakhan was released last month from the hospital after undergoing a 12-hour abdominal operation to correct damage caused by treatment for prostate cancer. A statement from the Nation at the time said Farrakhan "doesn't see himself coming before the public on such a major stage as we are preparing in Detroit." He might, however, honor lesser engagements.
The event will be a homecoming of sorts for the Nation of Islam movement, which promotes black empowerment and nationalism. It was founded in Detroit by Wallace D. Fard in 1930.

Having been unable to shakedown a major corporation in recent months, Rev. Jesse Jackson has turned his sights to Hollywood...
...My concern is that people will take these as a substitute for progress," Jackson said in an interview Wednesday with Daily Variety. "We want to keep the light on unfinished business."

Dean had the details... Though I swear I saw a poll a month back or so that had Romney at 11% and if so then 9% would be backwards not forwards.

In the womb anyway...
Giuliani said, "...I believe that a woman has the right to choose."
"I believe that you've got to run based on who you are, what you really are and then people actually get a right to disagree with you," he said. "And I find if you do it that way, even people who disagree with you sometimes respect you."
Choose what Mayor? Whether they get constitutional protections as a human being?
And if this is who you really are...? Oh never mind...
Would Reagan ever have been seen like this? Washington? Lincoln?
 President?

Probably won't happen, still - the fact that the word "possibility" is uttered has to make Ried's arthritic knees shake...
"Independent" Sen. Joe Liebeman receives a mini-profile titled "What Joe Wants." Lieberman calls jumping to the Republican side, and tilting the Senate, "a remote possibility," which means there's at least a chance of that. Time seems to push Lieberman in this direction, as the article concludes: "Lieberman's GOP flirtation has its risks--and a time limit....The longer he waits to capitalize on his moment, the greater the danger that he'll be tagged as one of those politicians for whom having power is more important than using it."
Democratic Sen. Dick Durbin claims that his side still "counts on him as a friend" even though it is "a little painful and awkward."
Last month, after Lieberman told Democratic chief Sen. Harry Reid that he had "stopped attending the weekly Democratic lunch because he didn't feel comfortable discussing Iraq there, Reid offered to hold those discussions at another time. Lieberman has started attending again." But he also keeps in touch with Bush aide Stephen Hadley "every week or two."
Come on Joe, take the plunge...

The newest polls from Iowa are in.
On the GOP side of things. "America's Mayor" is starting to open up a lead that looks close to being beyond the margin of error. Who is he taking the momentum from?
Senator Dufus of course. And he is back today slamming Bush on Global Warming... talk about a real fire-starter to build a REPUBLICAN campaign around. Most disappointing is that it appears that Romney is fading faster than Senator Knucklehead. He now trails Newt Gingrich. (Who has an actual snowball's chance in you know where of getting the nomination.) Maybe Dean has it right... but I don't see it as being particularly good.
On the other side. The bad news for Hillary continues. Despite her little blip she got following her announcement... (plug your ears...)
...she's slipping. Tied for 2nd with Obama and trailing Edwards. And this was BEFORE she had her little temper-tantrum yesterday screeching at the Obama camp for a problem that she should be directing to David Geffen.
Of course none of it means ANYTHING... not for now - but it is interesting to watch!

That's the idea behind a new British campaign to show solidarity and support to us!
The entire goal of the campaign is to help combat anti-American feelings in Europe. The first installment is right here:
Now I wonder if I could start a similar campaign to work in combatting anti-American-lefty-moonbats that reside here...

So how are those "Tax Cuts for the wealthy" working out?
Remember the days when John Kerry could gripe and moan about how much this War On Terror was costing us. Remember the longing pangs of "Clintonomics?"
Well according to the latest round of projections, and despite having to spend heavily for the War On Terror, President George W. Bush's economic advisors are now telling us that the United States will actually have a SURPLUS in the federal budget by 2012.
Since I know you won't find this information on any mainstream media outlet for the forseeable future - I thought it might be time to share the good news.
Remember: Rule 1. TAX CUTS - grow the federal treasury and bring MORE MONEY to the government to be able to fund safety-net pograms for those in need. Rule 2. TAX INCREASES - put people out of work, reduce productivity, and send less money to Washington.
Lesson to all Presidential candidates for 2008: First learn rules number one and two.

(Why OBAMA part 26)
What does Hillary Clinton call $1,760,000 in cash, tens of thousands of eager volunteers ready to walk the streets of California in support of a campaign, and celebrity endorsements from George Cloony, Babs, and Eddie Murphy?
Answer: A pretty decent day for Barack Obama.

Make sure you keep checking Geraghty for Madam Hillary's response...

From today's New York Post...
The activist jokers are claiming "disenfranchisement" by "citizenship voting laws."
One city councilman Charles Barron (long known for being a major race-baiter) is claiming (surprise), "you let the whitey whites vote back in da day!"
Just so that we're clear Councilman Barron: NO ALIEN, FROM ANY NATION, NO MATTER THE STATUS OF THEIR RESIDENCY, NO MATTER HOW MUCH IT MAY BENEFIT YOUR BANKRUPT ENTITLEMENT VOTERS, NO MATTER HOW, NO MATTER WHO, NO MATTER WHAT should ever be given the opportunity to vote.
ONLY CITIZENS should vote...period!
My New York City listeners weighed in today... Hour 1, Hour 2... and they don't sound happy!
