That was the topic of my column yesterday... judging from the comments of people who read it both here on TownHall and on Free Republic, I guess its not an overstatement to say it touched a nerve... or several.
One classic misread that it looks like many of the critics of the column made was to say that I was protesting women in general. Nope. I'm nuts about them, especially The Lovely Bride.
One other interesting note... especially to all those who seem to think the most effective way to critique my column is to question my own sexual practices... It is The Lovely Bride who originally inspired me to write this week's column - after many discussions with her about the difference in what girls are told about the need for men in society vs. what they actually in fact DO want...
But those types of retorts are to be expected from those who can not adequately defend their own world view!

Well he will today at 2pm EST.

He's subbing for me on-air today as I try to wing my way back across the nation and attempt to execute the miraculous and actually land in the metro NYC area tonight.
Yesterday 400+ flights were canceled into NYC. Here's what the hour by hour will look like. In general - even if we do get off the ground, putting down out east will be a major stresser. BTW... our airline runs four flights from here to NYC today its presently 6:33am local time and the 7am flight has been posted as CANCELED. Looks like we will have to check hour by hour...
Pray for us!

I missed her appearance on Hannity & Colmes last night, but having just seen the appearance on YouTube I have to say - she's killin' me.
Elizabeth Hasselbeck has been a refreshing voice and face in the muck over at the view. I am frequently discouraged that she is not nearly quick enough in thinking on her feet while going up against Rosie. So when I saw that she had been on H&C I thought it would be a refreshing thing as well...
I can't tell you how disappointed I am with the sloppy thinking and one-step capitulation she gives in to.
I agree that the marketplace did "speak". Sponsors were already signifying that they would be pulling the plug and MSNBC along with CBS have obligations to stockholders.
Where I found Hasselbeck heading into La-La-Land was when she refused to hold Rosie O'Donnell (perhaps one of the most vile people in media today) to the same standard as Imus.
Hasselbeck is a kind hearted person. She seems to desire to be a principled conservative. But she does not have the gravitas to stare-down Rosie and for her to pretend on H&C that she does verges on ridiculous.

I think everyone who heard about Gov. Corzine's encounter with what in all likelihood was an illegal alien attempting to flee the scene of an accident - but only after sending the Governor for a tumble, is holding him in their prayers today.
I truly appreciate this aspect of conservatives by they way... (When Elizabeth Edwards announces she has cancer - conservatives wish her a speedy recovery, when Tony Snow does the same thing - the whack jobs at liberal blogs wishes he dies.) We ALL wish Gov. Corzine a speedy recovery and hope that his injuries do heal properly.
He's in bad shape...
Corzine, 60, was taken to Cooper Hospital in Camden along with the state trooper who was driving and an aide.
Dr. Robert Ostrum said the surgery performed at Cooper University Hospital in Camden on Thursday night was a success, but noted that the governor will need two more operations on his leg in the coming days. Doctors also inserted a breathing tube due to the sternum and multiple rib injuries Corzine suffered in the crash.
Ostrum said the tube would remain "for days to weeks, until (Corzine) is able to breathe on his own again." However, Ostrum said the injuries were not considered life-threatening.
State Senate President Richard Codey became acting governor Thursday night and will serve indefinitely. Ostrum said Corzine would not be able to conduct his gubernatorial duties as long as he was on the breathing tube.
Corzine, who was conscious when he arrived at the hospital, suffered a broken sternum, a broken collarbone, a slight fracture of the lower vertebrae and six broken ribs on each side in the crash. Corzine also had laceration on his head, but did not sustain any brain or spinal cord damage.
He won't be breathing or walking on his own again for weeks, so in the meantime New Jersey's Gubernatorial duties revert back to the man that had them previous to Corzine's term - Senate President Dick Codey.
New Jersey is a pretty intertwined politically incestous state - so Codey's taking over the reigns will make almost NO difference in the actual outcome of legislative intitiatives.

Mayor Giuliani had to know this was coming. He's enjoyed a great window of "benefit of the doubt" time with conservatives for a few months now. But liberal Rudy is starting to show - and its just not pretty. There is a lot of time even now for the primary process to work its magic and I just increasingly am realizing that I can not - as a faithful, life long conservative vote for the former Mayor of my city.
And don't talk to me about the general election and "Hillary vs. whoever" yet - THAT will be a different election. Right now we are watching the primary race. This should be the time where we hassle these wannabes as much as possible so that we get to the essence of who they are.
The mayor's supporters want to talk about his toughness on terror. Which is fine. Given his record against crime in NYC, I think they may have a point. But I want a President who will also be tough against liberalism. I want a President who will stand up to Congress. I want a President to be tough about the types of judges he puts on the bench. I want a man of tough resilient character who deals with his domestic agenda and treats people with all that character entails.
And on that score it doesn't seem like Rudy is succeeding:
And I'm not the only one saying so...

Tonight's top 8 performance was the worst "finals" performance in American Idol history. The performances were every bit as pathetic as Simon Cowell made them out to be.
I for one, have been very vocal about how terrible Sanjaya has been. Tonight he was one of the better performers.
TOP THREE: (in this order) 1. Blake 2. Jordin 3. Sanjaya
BOTTOM THREE: 6. Melinda 7. Phil 8. Haley
Haley should be going home. But since Simon insisted on calling her a "knappy-hmm", money says she'll survive.

It does not happen often: states refusing Federal Money. Especially when those monies are designed to benefit, improve the lives of, even protect children from danger.
I say it's totally irresponsible to do so... what do you think?

Gingrich vs. Kerry on the issue of Climate Change, Global Warming, and Knut... FOX NEWS has a live feed - but its only on the web.
Gingrich goes first with opening statements... China and India will not be bullied into a regulatory position when the economic need (cars, and air-conditioning) outwieghs the "green" need. "Use prizes. Give a major prize for the first person to come up with a car that gets 500-1000 miles to gallon." "Regulation and litigation are the least effective means to solutions!"
Kerry is up now... first two jokes - fall flat... first pitch for his new book. Now attacks a past position Gingrich took years ago. Now trying to explain greenhouse effect. Also acknowledges that it is fundamentally the SUN that begins the warming process.
GINGRICH: If you can develop a "green prosperity" then people will make change!

Until this morning, I had never heard the name Uwe Boll. Evidently he is a 3rd rate hack of a movie producer who couldn't cut it in his short lived boxing career. His new movie is call POSTAL, and it "features" the work and praises of jihadists.
Allah points out that on this particular scene, the grotesque director spent a great deal of time getting the details right, and anyone who had ever been to the top of WTC will know it.
Boll believes this to be funny...

Because of some mix-ups here at TownHall we didn't get the special "Easter Sunday" column posted until today. But it's finally here.
"Liberals like to embrace a compassionate but dead Jesus, they also revile the holy and risen Christ!"
As you can imagine its making the usual suspects angry. But if they are angry about that - then watch the spittle fly when they watch this:

President Bush is looking to move forward on his Amnesty for Illegals agenda. It appears that Congressional Dems are all too willing to work with him.
If the Senate Republicans don't filibuster this movement, the GOP can effectively kiss 2008 goodbye no matter WHO the nominee is.
With 12-22 million new citizen voters the numeric advantage for the Dems will be nearly impossible to overcome.

Hillary has been slipping in her "hometown" of New York City for months now. But in today's New York Post it is more plainly evident than ever before:
Obama raised his cash on the backs of longtime Clinton donors like Ron Blaylock, a major Democratic contributor who gave Obama more than $1,000 and has signed on to raise thousands more.
Just last year, Blaylock ponied up $4,200 to Clinton, the maximum allowed at the time - and tried to give more but had his cash returned because he'd reached the limit. He gave another $2,000 for her inaugural Senate bid in 2000.
And there's Ray McGuire, a CitiGroup bigwig who gave big bucks to Obama over the past three months after forking over $4,200 to Clinton last May and another $1,000 for her 2000 Senate bid.
They join big-name African-American moneymen in New York who backed Clinton in the past but are jumping to Obama, including Earl Graves ($2,000), Robert Smith ($1,500), Vaughn Williams ($1,000) and Jason Wright ($2,100).
Other New York Democratic fat cats going from the front-runner to the fresh face are John Rhea and Gordon Davis, who each gave Clinton $1,000 last year, and Vivienne LaBorde, who handed Clinton $400 for her walkover 2006 re-election campaign.
Obama has also snagged the son of one member of Clinton's inner circle, hubby Bill's former treasury secretary, Robert Rubin - who is helping the former first lady craft economic positions.
Rubin's son, James, a partner with JPMorgan's private equity fund, gave Clinton $2,500 last year. But now he's forking over thousand-dollar checks to Obama.
And it's not just big-money donors jumping to Obama. Small-ticket contributors like Bryant Park Hotel doorman Gregory Smith, profiled in The Post yesterday, are flocking to his fresh message.
"Hillary, in my eyes, is a professional politician. I have issues with professional politicians. The friends that I have are cynical about politics. That's why I like Barack. He's more believable than Hillary. Barack chose politics to better people," said Smith, who gave Obama $25 online.
Obama is swooping into New York to rake in more cash on Clinton's home turf with a swank Central Park West cash bash, and he'll also yuk it up tonight with David Letterman - aiming to woo young night owls into his camp.
Hillary is also running third in the MOST recent poll in Iowa.

As I have inferred many times: The GOP top tier have some "splainin' to do."
Giuliani: Why my rabid liberal tendancies won't impact my view on judicial appointments. (If he is even able to make this case. With no record to show for it - most conservatives will view it as all talk.)
McCain: Himself... McCain/Feingold, "Gang of 14", and why he is a terrible Republican and even worse Senator...
Romney: The Mormon thing...
Each of these negatives have to be effectively explained or answered by these candidates. And they must do so candidly. (Paranthetically... these are the same reasons a Fred Thompson candidacy would have so much immediate attraction to conservative GOP voters in the primary season. No nuance, no explanations, just simple commonsense ideas that come from a man with obvious gravitas.)
And yes I did refer to the "Mormon thing" as a negative. Mainly for this reason: Bible-belt voters, particularly evangelical Christians in southern states know more about Mormonism than do many mormons. They will take this into consideration in the the voting booth with them.
Which is why today's advice (for Gov. Romney) from the NYTIMES (of all places) is so on the money.
Thus, when Mr. Romney told South Carolina Republicans a few months ago that Jesus was his “personal savior,” he used Southern Baptist language to affirm a relationship to Christ that is quite different in Mormon belief. (For Southern Baptists, “personal savior” implies a specific born-again experience that is not required or expected of Mormons.) This is not a winning strategy for Mr. Romney, whose handlers should be aware that Christian fundamentalists and evangelicals know Mormon doctrine better than most other Americans do — if only because they study Mormonism in order to rebut its claims.
Mr. Romney worships a different God and a different Jesus than evangelicals do. Trying to white-wash this fact is going to smell fishy to GOP evangelicals. And Gov. Romney needs to, if he has not done so already, immediately hire sound evangelical voices as part of his inner circle. He needs to have some idea of how to position issues, speeches, and answers to questions so that he does not come off sounding like anything less than absolutely genuine.
The theological gap between Mormons and Christians can not be bridged. And it is a wasteful consumption of time to attempt to do so. He needs to instead transparently acknowledge those differences, and make the case for why his positions and ideas are attractive to the evangelical voter. And he should do so as transparently as possible...
And for the record... more transparency on the campaign trail would be an attractive alternative - in many respects!

That's the title of my weekly column that was slated to be released today. I realize that it has not yet been published. I'm on the west coast and having just gotten up not many minutes ago - have received several notes inquiring about where the column is.
I have asked the editors at TownHall these same questions and when they get back to me, or the column posts, I will let you know.
As you know Jonathan Garthwaite is the Editorial Guru around TownHall and on one positive note it appears my column from last week made the weekly "top ten". I'm not certain of what that even means - but I'm always grateful for the added recognition.
I appreciate the inquiry and I wish you a blessed and joyous easter.

This week on TownHall TV: Don't miss Mary Katharine Ham as she stands her ground against a couple of child molesting sympathizers. Kevin McCullough makes an all too painful observation about the Culture of Death. The newest entry into Hugh Hewitt's "Mormon in the White House" TV commercial.
And perhaps the most interesting piece of video we found this week by searching "Dennis Prager's" name was a nine minute report that took at look a a group of anti-U.S. loonies that protested an event that was hosted by David Horowitz in Santa Barbara California at which Dennis and a few dozen other special speakers made appearances.
Plus bonus rounds of HamNation and the McCullough PUNCH!
It's TOWNHALL on TV... get it?
