I know its really exhausting being on the campaign trail...
But taking the number dead from a horrific disaster from 12 to 10,000 is a bit of a stretch - even for exhausted people. And since we're already seeing a concerted effort to try to turn Kansas into Katrina II I don't think Mr. Obama should be allowed to skate on this one.
"In case you missed it, this week, there was a tragedy in Kansas. Ten thousand people died—an entire town destroyed." ~05.08.2007 Barack Hussein Obama, Richmond, Virginia

There is so much candidates can do to completely and thoroughly roll obstacles into their own path of success. THIS KIND OF AD from Mitt Romney does exactly the opposite - he looks assertive, tough, and likable. And the issue is one that protects the little guy.
Someone at the Romney campaign is getting it very right!

His meltdown during the debate demonstrated it... His unending back and forths on the abortion are starting to make him look like either someone who is pragmatic in how he's attempting to straddle both sides of the fence on abortion... or that he is somehow more nuanced than John Kerry.
I don't think GOP primary voters will care which... now that it has come to light that he has made a minimum of six monetary donations to Planned Parenthood his goose is cooked. No Falwell, No Dobson, and only a very few committed faith based, church goers are going to look past this. It is simply too much to accept.
After Fred's movie on HBO comes out on May 27th - it's time for him to announce. I think a FRED/ROMNEY ticket would perhaps be the strongest imaginable possibility.

Remember when the jokers running for President from the democratic party were asked to raise their hands to assert their belief as to whether or not there existed an actual Global War On Terror?

I wonder if an attack on a U.S. Military base, on our soil, by Muslim terrorists, at least one of whom is an illegal alien, would have any impact on their answer?
What say... the American voter?

If what Hugh is offended by is Sharpton's challenging of the sincerety of Romney's belief... then he is right.
If Hugh is offended at the calling of the Mormon diety the REAL God... then he is mistaken.
Mormons sincerely believe that they worship a true god. But they do not worship the Creator God of the Biblical Text. They do not worship the risen son Jesus Christ. I know that they believe that they do - but they do not.
An illegitimate substitute for something is not the original authentic.
No one should be able to question the sincerety of Romney's beliefs - unless Romney himself does not live up to them. EVERYONE has the right to express their opinion on the authenticity of the Diety that is the focus of such. And saying so does NOT make one a bigot...

No guarantee how long it will still look like this but TownHall is stirring things up on YouTube today. HamNation is currently #39 on the TODAY'S Most Viewed list, The PUNCH is #21. This weekend's PUNCH commentary on Akon is #31 on the WEEK's Most Viewed List. Since YouTube is such a diverse, and I would argue sometimes perverse universe of surfers you get much different reactions to the conservative messages than what MK and I generally see from TownHallies.
Both videos are well worth the watching... And anytime you do - you shoot us a little bit higher in those ratings.

Atheism has become the philosophical rage du jour of recent. Christopher Hitchens, the marxist editor of Vanity Fair, Sam Harris, Richard Dawkins, etc. have been "evangelizing" on behalf of the belief that there is no God. Their books have become instant best-sellers by the way. Though they offer nothing new to the discussion, and they certainly offer no hope to those who are seeking it - something in their message has stirred some curiosity. For this reason my colleague Frank Pastore and myself authored columns yesterday here at TownHall that take them to task and debunk their beliefs. We talked about them on my show in NYC today in Hour 1. Hour 2 we talked with listeners about the same ideas. Or for the 3 minute version watch the new PUNCH commentary: I argue in my own new book that the single biggest difference between the mind of the left (particularly the hard left - like marxist thinkers) and the right, and center right - is simple. The right believes in God, he's outside them, beyond them, authoritative over them, and as such has given us some guidelines and instruction on how life is best lived. I tend to think that these angry cries of the godless among us are going to increase in the days to come. The problem for them is this however. In their heart of hearts - even these "brilliant thinkers" have to admit that there is injustice and immorality in the world. The difference in a bad man and a good man - they have to see it with their own eyes. As such they will then have to debate what makes them that way - and their argument against God comes completely unraveled after all. Read Hitchen's book if you like, then read mine... see if you can tell for yourself the distinctions, and why God is not just necessary - but a very GOOD reality!

I can't fully explain this... Verizon dumped Akon on Friday of last week...
Nonetheless, my most recent "PUNCH" commentary continues to climb at YouTube. (LANGUAGE WARNING: on the comment section.)

It appears that Francis Cardinal George in Chicago has approved a speech opportunity for Hillary Clinton in support of the Mercy Homes for Boys and Girls on this coming Sunday.
This defies a Catholic directive from 2004 originating in the Conference of Bishops to longer allow pro-abortion candidates a forum.
The luncheon on God's day will be to benefit the charity and the excellent work (of which I'm personally familiar) of the Mercy Homes.
Cardinal George inquired about it and wanted to be reassured that it was not a "political" stop.
I'm sorry, but this defies credulity. After you are a declared candidate for President, after you have participated in one of the Presidential debates, after you have raised millions in campaign cash... there are no more "non-political" stops.
My friends - the very good people at the PRO-LIFE ACTION LEAGUE are planning protests to her visit. (Catholics protesting at a Catholic ministry...) Good for them. Cardinal George's thinking is faulty on this matter and it might be up to the truly committed to help him change his mind.

This is not a difficult decision to make... help Verizon Wireless understand what a dumb move it is for them to keep Hip-Hop fiend Akon as a spokesperson for their new ringtone program.

Check out the instapoll Drudge has been running since the debate last night of the GOP candidates...
The Romney campaign will wake up feeling very, very, good about things this morning! (Of course they're also showing that Ron Paul came in 3rd, so "grain of salt warning!")
Seems Politic's Roger Simon agrees though, and says Romney "introduced himself" to the American people very well!
