Senator Cranky is confused, and he is now turning to an all too overused play from the Bush White House on amensty. By purposefully confusing the issue of immigration with unlawful acts to penetrate our nation's security he is willfully misleading on the issue, "he knows more about than anyone in the room."

From his speech today:

"Florida is a living testament to the benefits of immigration, a great and prosperous state built in large part by immigrants who came here to escape tyranny and despair, live the American Dream, contribute to our greatness and defend our ideals."

For the benefit of the aging Senator from Arizona let's be perfectly clear: NO ONE on the side of securing our borders is attempting to stop the flow of legal immigration. I and many others have actually called for a more efficient approach to the importation of legal immigrants.

Senator McCain stop willfully deceiving those you wish to govern... we are not amused.

Yes, its been a little over a week since I last penned anything here. Can you say "pen" if you used a keyboard?

Anyhow... we're back!

The big story in my neck of the woods turned out to be terror plot foiled at JFK. As you can imagine on the heels of the Fort Dix Six it begs concern and consideration. And this morning we learn more.

Evidently it is possible to walk right up to several points along the path of the major fuel pipeline that the terrorists were planning on blowing up. Just walk right up to it and tap it on its hull.

Evidently they also used Google Earth.

My only question is, "Are we fully prepared for many, many, MANY more of these plots... given that we have no idea who is crossing our largest border?"

President Bush seems ready to insult those of us who ask such questions. And Cranky McCain seems intent on blowing steam out his ears until we let him have his insane comprehensive amnesty plan turned into law.

I guess the answer to my question is simple. We better be ready, we better pray for Homeland Security, and we better hold the candidates feet to the fire - because from my limited point of view it seems we are living in dangerous times.
