I'm struck by the strangeness of the tone the NYPost took with this piece on Katie Couric addressing the National Press Club.
"Penchant for dating younger men?" Usually code for... well you know...
Is that supposed to be a slam, or an innuendo as to her predilictions?
I'm not really sure - but the craziest thing of all is the stupidity of Dan Rather quoted at the end:
"I don't believe Ms. Couric knows all the facts," Rather told The Post yesterday. "When they come out, she may well change her mind."
No Dan, when she said you erred egregiously - she was accurate. When you decided to use fraudulent sources, in an election cycle, to in essence make up the "proofs" of the claims that you intended to turn the outcome of an election cycle on - you did err.
Just because you have no integrity - doesn't make Katie Couric ignorant. And you calling her ignorant doesn't make it so either...

Hey DUMMY you can't do that! And when will you take responsibility for your laziness/verging on criminal complicity. Even Katie Couric called you sloppy. Such a lib - everything is SOMEONE else's fault!"

Course language warning, and a bit on the NPR side of the style aisle for my personal taste - but perhaps the most complete report on the visit of the Iranian terrorist to the world's greatest city!"
Also appearing: Pamela Geller (AtlasShrugs), Claudia Rossett, Lee Bollinger, and tremendous footage of how free speech actually works!

I know she still sits atop every poll for the Democratic primary, but at some point the value of the number of individual donors Obama continues to string together has got to count for something.
For every donation he gets from a NEW donor (and he now has more individual donors than ALL of the GOP candidates combined, and far more than Clinton) he is enlisting a soldier in the battle. Because many of their gifts (the vast majority) are so far beneath the legal limit - he has the "growing pie" potential where he can continue to go back and build upon the fund raising base again and again.
How Hillary ultimately is able to counter this with IOU's from has-been county chairmen seems a tad impossible, but those who make the argument that she has "the organization" even though he has "the money" seems to be winning out in the daily tracking polls.

Katie Couric in speaking to the National Press Club scolded Dan Rather for being such an oaf when it came to doing journalism basics:
After evidence emerged that the story’s primary documents were possibly faked or forged, Rather stated on air that “if I knew then what I know now, I would not have gone ahead with the story as it was aired, and I certainly would not have used the documents in question.”
Couric took Rather to task for his reporting. “There were things in there that were quite egregious in terms of how it was reported,” she said. “And sloppy work is sloppy work…They did not dot their I’s and cross their T’s when it came to that story…And our job is to get right.”
She also evidently knows the exact content of everyone's mind in the room she was speaking in front of:
“Everyone in this room would agree that people in this country were misled in terms of the rationale of this war,” said Couric, adding that it is “pretty much accepted” that the war in Iraq was a mistake.
It seems to me that the only thing we didn't get was the high volume of weapons that Saddam had moved to Syria and Iran. It seems to me that Mr. El Baradei's confirmation that Saddam was reigniting his nuclear program, that Saddam was giving safe haven to Al Qaeda, and the fact that he was throwing his political opponents into tree chipping equipment was all pretty darn good reasons to do what we've done.
But wait... I wasn't IN the same room as the new Ms. Clairvoyant.

Officially Ahmadinejad-free today!
2pm: My take on the very latest... - NY Governor Spitzer, forget common sense, licenses for all! GOP, est tu Brute? - Some border locals outraged at a border fence plan...fine move to Mexico!
2:20pm: So if a candidate decided to host a fund-raiser in which those who come would be charged $9.11 to get in, what would you think? I've asked the question of several individuals and I personally am mortified at anyone who would suggest something like this. Now let's add to the discussion that it is a certain former mayor of New York... any thoughts? Is this not the most exploitative stretch you've seen? It is for me... Shame on Hiz'onor! 800.345.WMCA.
3pm: My take on the latest... - Hillary spikes a critical story about her in GQ? Hey where's all those Columbia University staffer whack jobs screaming, "freeeeee speech?" PLUS she keeps losing the money race - that's gonna catch up to her soon. - Global majority want action on "Gore-bull Warming?" Really? Vote here! - Goodbye Mr. Twinkie, I'll miss your soft permanently preserved goodness.
3:20pm Of all the reasons that people are NOT getting married, is it reasonable to think that it has to do with the amount of money that they must spend on THE WEDDING? A liberal at HuffPost ponders. What are your thoughts? Is the COST of the wedding a primary motivator for scheduling it? Should it be? For some reason, I can't buy into it - maybe it's my "guyness" coming out. 800.345.WMCA.

Listen "LIVE" - 2-4p EST Listen ON DEMAND anytime!
2pm: My take on the very latest... - The gathering of MuscleHeads at Ground Zero this morning. Though we might stress it was officially a volunteer event NOT associated with WMCA-570 in New York. We will let you hear from those who came. We will also take your calls on how you believe Mahmoud Ahamdinejad's visit to New York this morning is affecting our city and our future. We will watch and ponder his visits to the U.N. and the Columbia University campus as well.
Also along these lines President Bush is quoted as saying that Columbia had the right to invite Mr. Ahmadinejad. He also asserted that Ahmadinejad would use it to advance his agenda... which mean he wants to mislead the American people of his true intentions (nuclear, Israel, United States, and Great Britain.)
Not convincing to legislators as a number of them are attempting to cut Columbia University's aid!
Ahmadinejad also is adding a meeting with 911 survivors that are critical of America.
Best front page NY headline today went to the Daily News:THE EVIL HAS LANDED.
Because of my need to travel to the spot of Ground Zero and back to the studios today I have been light on the blogging side today - please accept my apologies. Tonight we will post a MOVING video of our experiences there this morning so check back tonight for that! 800.345.WMCA.

Final play of the first half...
The clock CLEARLY states :02 secs left when Grossman is downed. The teams have the right to review the play, and the call. The homer ref calls the half over and runs off the field in the opposite direction from the players...

Kevin Whalen, Gregg Jackson WRKO hosts for Pundit Review radio
The pundit review guys, sans Gregg Jackson, asked me on tonight to rev up the heat against Mahmoud Ahamdinejad's visits across Manhattan tomorrow. The Pundit Review radio show had my friend Dean Barnett sitting in for Greg.
'Twas smart, sassy, snappy conversation - and if I can locate a Pundit Review podcast I will post for you.

He's scheduled to travel tomorrow... He's STILL scheduled to visit Ground Zero. He's scheduled to speak at Columbia University, and of course to insult us at the United Nations.
So during his final 24 hours prior to his arrival he decides to strike this kind of tone:
TEHRAN, Iran (AP) - A day before flying to New York to speak directly to the American people, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad struck a confrontational tone Saturday with a parade of fighter jets and missiles and tough warnings for the United States to stay out of the Mideast.
Three new domestically manufactured warplanes streaked over the capital during the parade marking the 27th anniversary of the Iraqi invasion of Iran, which sparked a 1980-88 war that killed hundreds of thousands of people. The parade also featured the Ghadr missile, which has a range of 1,120 miles, capable of reaching Israel.
Some of the missile trucks were painted with the slogans "Down with the U.S." and "Down with Israel." The parade also featured unmanned aerial surveillance drones, torpedoes, and tanks.
