While Barak Obama believes that giving Africans condoms will solve the AIDS pandemic, evidently even people who have been given them don't believe they will, at least not the thousands of people who were given free condoms originally produced in China:
Tens of thousands of condoms provided free by the District to curb HIV-AIDS have been returned to the health department because of complaints that their paper packaging is easily torn and could render the condoms ineffective.
Demand at two distribution sites in Southeast set up by groups combating AIDS plummeted more than 80 percent after the condoms, in a mustard-yellow and purple wrapper, were introduced this year. More than 2,000 packets a week were scooped up in mid-March, but by late May, only 400 were being given away each week.
Volunteers concerned about why interest had dropped began asking people who had picked up the condoms. They were told about packets ripping in purses or bursting open in pockets. As a result, many recipients said they had little confidence that the condoms would offer protection.
In addition, expiration dates on some of the Chinese-made condoms were illegible.

(ANSA) - Rome, September 6 - Supertenor Luciano Pavarotti, born in the northern Italian city of Modena in 1935, rose to become probably the world's most famous opera singer.
While his forerunners and contemporaries have mainly stuck to the opera world, Pavarotti also conquered the mainstream musical market, scaling pop and classical charts alike with ease.
Although he officially retired in 2004, he continued to perform occasionally until mid-2006, when he was diagnosed with cancer.

Mitt was up next, thought the night was fun, and immediately takes a swipe at Rudy.
(And that followed a VERY bizarre exchange between Carl Cameron and Kevin Madden of team Mitt - joking about nose hairs...)

What????
"I reported every illegal alien that committed a crime?"
Uh... wouldn't that be ALL of them? Since BEING here IS a crime...

Fox cut away to Frank Luntz immediately following the debate. He is at an eatery in New Hampshire and some of his testing questions were astounding...
Who won the debate: McCain - overwhelmingly...
Who was the most disappointing: Giulliani - overwhelmingly... (too many answers were basically "what I did in NYC".)
ALL 29 voters answered affirmatively that they were sadly, across the board, hugely disappointed with the overall field.
FRED?

2pm:My take on the very latest... - TAXI!!!!!- Does Katie Couric have permission to say things like this? - President Billy downplays his role in Hillary's campaign! 2:20pm: So he says he will resign right? Or did he say he just intended to - which is Washington beltway speak for, "I'll do no such thing." Well captain competent couldn't even leave a voicemail for his attorney on the right phone message system. Even if he is innocent of the charges - which is unlikely considering he pleaded guilty - it's amazing this guy is able to put one foot in front of the other in the mornings. The GOP was right to get him out. It's a demonstrative commitment to what is right. I talked it up on CNN this morning. And I want to ask you - should he stay or should he go now? 800.345.WMCA. 2:45pm: Dr. D. James Kennedy has passed away. Salem Communication's Ron Walters will tell us a bit about the massive influence Dr. Kennedy left as his living heritage. 3pm:My take on the latest... - Hillary's big donor is on the lamb... - Terror suspects stopped, terror hit prevented...does anybody care? - Popcorn fumes may kill you... 3:20pm:
So the tax-payer funded Islamic Madrassas that I had been winking and nodding at yesterday opened for business. Trying to shed the image that they would be a true Islamic indoctrination center they have continued to beg Mayor Bloomberg NOT to shut them down. (Not that he's shown any willingness to...) So on day one of the new program - what does the guest Imam have to say for their first lesson at the Islamic Madrassa of Brooklyn New York? "Why Jihad is GOOD!" So - are you happy to see your local AND national tax dollars go to this kind of program? 800.345.WMCA 3:55pm: The McCULLOUGH PUNCHPresident's Tears in Public or Private - a Good Thing? The CNN Anchor actually attempts to censor our ability to bring up what liberal/democrats have had to say about such things. HA!
LIBERALS ALWAYS condemn hypocrisy, they never condemn immoral behavior - why? Because they really, really, really, really, really LOVE IT!

Who's hating on a Soprano? - Congress is back, time to start playa-hatin on the troops in Iraq... - "Allah Akbar" - you're tax dollars teaching that phrase! 2:20pm: It's a "bold" and "strange" new world. Animal breeding with humans, humans breeding animals - and a government signing off on the icky new "science" of hybrid embryos. And the great con that is serving as the cover for this horrific freak show...? Alzheimers research. To take the nucleus of a human cell containing ALL of its DNA and transfer it to a cow egg, then harvest the hybrid stem cells? Is it worth it to "find" a cure? 800.345.WMCA. 3pm:My take on the latest... - The "50 shot" Sean Bell cops file their defense. A brand new federal plan intends to put illegal aliens in straight jackets. The practice would go into effect primarily during government raids, and is designed to prevent the illegals from hurting themselves in trying to escape. What do you think of the practice? Is it compassionate? More compassionate than Mexico's policies - that's for sure. But will it work? Should it even be considered? And how can the government think it can get away with it? Oh... yeah... its NOT the American government - it's SPAIN'S, and the illegals are primarily BLACK! 800.345.WMCA 3:55pm: The McCULLOUGH PUNCHGirls Gone Wild... So the Lovely Bride and my son both were required to work today (on Labor Day of all things) and even though I did a custom show for today - I wasn't AT the studios today.
So it fell to me to plan the Labor Day feast.
Tried to keep it simple:
Ribs, simple Barbecue sauce*... Boneless Chicken Breasts also with BBQ sauce*... Beer Soaked Brats... boiled in Guiness, no sauce needed... Alaskan King Crab legs... original drawn better dipping sauce**...
* Half cup, simple organic barbecue sauce base, two tablespoons dijon mustard, two pinches of kosher salt, three-five grinds of peppercorns and four tablespoons of Chardonnay. Mix till texture evens and smooths.
**Six tablespoons unsalted butter, 1.5 teaspoons tabasco sauce, two pinches of kosher salt, three-five grinds of peppercorns, two tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil. Combine ALL ingredients and melt on extra-low heat. Let stand until ready for service re-melt on low to medium until desired consitency, stir and serve. Dip crab legs liberally.
Also had corn on the grill***...
Shuck corn cobs till free of all strings. Place over medium heat coals. With basting brush liberally paint with butter mixture. (One above is fine, can also use juice of one lime, cayenne pepper, unsalted butter.)
For desert...
Split ripe peaches in halves, coat bottom of casserole with fresh squeezed lemon juice, place sliced peaches open side down in the lemon juice, refrigerate. Sit for one hour. Remove and turn over and sprinkle sugar crystals over lemon juiced face of peaches. Place peaches on grill medium heat rotating till both sides slightly carmelized. Remove from grill, place one peach half in small desert dish, top with fresh vanilla bean ice cream.
Like I said... really simple - but it was a FEAST!

2pm:Our own favorite MuscleHead historian David Barton of Wallbuilders will join us for a most unusual hour to kick of things today - tracing the origins of the American Labor Day holiday. Where did it come from? How has it changed? Why was there a need to recognize the value and merit of labor? Is there any similarity to the Communist celebrations of the Day of Laborers? And perhaps most interestingly of all does the American Labor Day have distinctively Chiristian or Biblical roots? Any time David Barton is with us you are guaranteed to learn something you did not know before - so don't miss this extra-special discussion here in hour one. 800.345.WMCA. 3pm:He is being honored along with his broadcast Truth For Life as the WMCA-570 "Ministry of the Month." With a Scottish bogue that is instantly recognizable, and a golf game to match you may have heard a wee bit about Alistair Begg before. He joins us on our holiday celebration today and gives us a peek behind the scenes as he has been recovering from cancer. And in these days when so much controversy swirls around the church Alistair weighs in on his own commitment to preaching the word faithfully in context. Don't miss the special conversation... 3:20pm:Robert Spencer is the author of an important new book that examines which religious system most promotes peace - Islam or Christianity. Spencer is the propietor of the blog JihadWatch.org and is a regular host for the Michelle Malkin video enterprise HotAir. He specializes in middle eastern history and events and is perhaps one of the most important voices on the trends of modern day Islam in existence today. There are many people saying that Islam IS a religion of peace - but are they right? Because seemingly the majority of Muslims appear peaceful does that mean Islam is? Or are they poor practitioners of their faith choosing not to live by the jihadist principles of Islam. With stunning detail Spencer lays out the basics in his new book. And we look forward to the discussion with him in hour two today. 3:55pm: The McCULLOUGH PUNCHAppreciating our labors... Weekdays 2-4pm EST Listen "LIVE" click here. Listen "ON DEMAND" click here.
