Rudy Giulianni should get no mercy from social conservative, Christian, born-again evangelical voters. This weekend he attempted to say otherwise. Guiliani attempted to persuade voters that he is indeed as concervative as they desire him to be.. yet he said, "I'm not going to pretend to you I can be all things to all people, I'm just not like that. I will tell you from what I saw with my own eyes amongst the evangelical Christians at the Values Voters Summit last week - he doesn't seem to be getting any. But it's not enough, not in the primary - he should not get a pass from socially conservative Christians. 800.345.WMCA.

For everyone that believed that Harry Potter was this innocent allegory of good and evil - which is the position in the McCullough house, J.K. Rowlings confession - should not make any difference"Dumbledore is gay," she said, adding he was smitten with rival Gellert Grindelwald, who he beat in a battle between good and bad wizards long ago. The audience gasped, then applauded. "I would have told you earlier if I knew it would make you so happy," she said. We have talked with personal friends and I have seen the studies - Harry Potter sold a LOT of books to people of faith - and the battle between good and evil is at the center of why these books were/are so popular. I believe we need to outlaw all use of Zero Tolerance policies...in otherwords I have ZERO TOLERANCE for zero tolerance. Here's another example of why: Seven-year-old Kyle Walker was suspended for one day last week by school officials in Cape May County for drawing a stick figure shooting a gun.  Four kindergarten boys were suspended in 2000 for playing cops and robbers, even though they were using their fingers as guns. Since guns were invented nearly 100% of all boys have used their imagination to kill bad guys, rescue the girl, save the town, and become the hero. I know I did - and I've never had one inkling to shoot a human being - ever! By enacting Zero Tolerance policies we are protecting ourselves against no one, and it is merely an excuse to attempt to govern - without thinking. 800.345.WMCA.

Referring to Andrew Giuliani’s reportedly distant relationship with his father since the ugly bust-up of Mr. Giuliani’s marriage with Donna Hanover,” the article says, “Mr. Rangel said it was because ’sons respect and admire their fathers, but they love their mothers against cheating gd'd husbands.’ I have repeatedly argued the simple commonsense perspective that says, if a man DOES cheat on his wife it is likely that he will cheat on people far less important - which is the common belief among 98% of all Conservative Christians. 7:35pm - Jay Sekulow to introduce... Man is he short, it's like Ziggy lookin' over the wall. Out of the shoot he praises Mitt's stand for marriage. Romney walks out to a standing ovation...

7:37pm - Thanks much all the way around... "protecting families" out of his mouth inside of 6 seconds... "I'm pro-family on every level - personal, professional AND political!"

7:38pm - "America's future will not be determined by heads of state but heads of households..."

Justin from MyManMitt had just stopped over and asked if I had seen yet ANOTHER Evangelical endorsing his man Mitt. I asked him who it was and he said he couldn't remember but that he had written a TownHall column late yesterday - so I opened up a browser to the columnist section and saw the column to which he referred - by Wayne Grudem. Interesting reading. That makes three significant Evangelical endorsements in as many days on behalf of Mitt Romney.

After he left I took a glance at the "Most Viewed" rankings and boy was I happy by what I saw!

So if you're one of the many who took the time to read get me there.... THANKS!!!!!

I wandered in well into his remarks. Following my broadcast I had been in the halls reconnecting with valiant pro-life friends like Jill Stanek, Bobby Schindler, Rick Santorum, and Star Parker. Which if you missed you can catch on PodCAST heres Hour 1 and Hour 2. Our guests included the TownHall All-Stars, Dr. Tony Perkins, Presidential Candidate Congressman Duncan Hunter, Focus On The Family, and Bishop Harry Jackson.

But when everything had died down I wandered into the main hall again and listened to Newt Gingrich be better than I had ever heard him. (BTW... you can view any or all of the segments via the internet for a mere donation of $9.95. And from what I understand that is an unlimited access to the going's on for the entirety of the weekend.)

But back to Newt - he was drawing out the comparison between those who want to expunge any and all references to "God" and he applied it more simply than I had ever heard it put.

He painted the picture of 625,000 dead soldiers at the hands of ourselves. And following that moment of the Civil War president Lincoln realized that his nation was at odds with itself more so than it ever possibly would be again. After all we had taken up arms against our own.

So on the occasion of his second inaugural in the light of such circumstances he said these words:

At this second appearing to take the oath of the presidential office, there is less occasion for an extended address than there was at the first. Then a statement, somewhat in detail, of a course to be pursued, seemed fitting and proper. Now, at the expiration of four years, during which public declarations have been constantly called forth on every point and phase of the great contest which still absorbs the attention, and engrosses the energies of the nation, little that is new could be presented. The progress of our arms, upon which all else chiefly depends, is as well known to the public as to myself; and it is, I trust, reasonably satisfactory and encouraging to all. With high hope for the future, no prediction in regard to it is ventured.

On the occasion corresponding to this four years ago, all thoughts were anxiously directed to an impending civil war. All dreaded it--all sought to avert it. While the inaugeral [sic] address was being delivered from this place, devoted altogether to saving the Union without war, insurgent agents were in the city seeking to destroy it without war--seeking to dissole [sic] the Union, and divide effects, by negotiation. Both parties deprecated war; but one of them would make war rather than let the nation survive; and the other would accept war rather than let it perish. And the war came.

One eighth of the whole population were colored slaves, not distributed generally over the Union, but localized in the Southern part of it. These slaves constituted a peculiar and powerful interest. All knew that this interest was, somehow, the cause of the war. To strengthen, perpetuate, and extend this interest was the object for which the insurgents would rend the Union, even by war; while the government claimed no right to do more than to restrict the territorial enlargement of it. Neither party expected for the war, the magnitude, or the duration, which it has already attained. Neither anticipated that the cause of the conflict might cease with, or even before, the conflict itself should cease. Each looked for an easier triumph, and a result less fundamental and astounding. Both read the same Bible, and pray to the same God; and each invokes His aid against the other. It may seem strange that any men should dare to ask a just God's assistance in wringing their bread from the sweat of other men's faces; but let us judge not that we be not judged. The prayers of both could not be answered; that of neither has been answered fully. The Almighty has his own purposes. "Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!" If we shall suppose that American Slavery is one of those offences which, in the providence of God, must needs come, but which, having continued through His appointed time, He now wills to remove, and that He gives to both North and South, this terrible war, as the woe due to those by whom the offence came, shall we discern therein any departure from those divine attributes which the believers in a Living God always ascribe to Him? Fondly do we hope--fervently do we pray--that this mighty scourge of war may speedily pass away. Yet, if God wills that it continue, until all the wealth piled by the bond-man's two hundred and fifty years of unrequited toil shall be sunk, and until every drop of blood drawn with the lash, shall be paid by another drawn with the sword, as was said three thousand years ago, so still it must be said "the judgments of the Lord, are true and righteous altogether"

With malice toward none; with charity for all; with firmness in the right, as God gives us to see the right, let us strive on to finish the work we are in; to bind up the nation's wounds; to care for him who shall have borne the battle, and for his widow, and his orphan--to do all which may achieve and cherish a just and lasting peace, among ourselves, and with all nations.

If the secularists have their way... they would have to argue for the removal of THAT speech. That it would have to be sand blasted from the stone that it now sits engraved enshrined in at Lincoln's memorial.

One nation - under God, and we are always better for the reality of that truth being known!

Dr. Richard Land is handing Rev. Jim Wallis' head to him. The debate currently happening on how people of faith respond to the issue of poverty seems to be better understood by the attendees of the Summit than of the participant representing the 'religious left' - Jim Wallis.

"Marriage would eliminate more poverty than any single public policy action that could be taken." -Dr. Land

Wallis got used on EVERY issue!

Fred Thompson, the third Presidential candidate of the day but the first real contender is receiving a warm welcome from the Values Voters Summit line from the Washington Hilton.

Thompson has followed McCain who was received with only mediocre welcome, and Sam Brownback who has now left the race for President.

Fred scored the right tone on the issue of abortion and the protection of marriage, he hit the judges and the issue of the judiciary's relationship to both of those.

11:23am - Fred just scored a shot at the schools who are now distributing birth control pills to 11, 12, and 13 year olds.

11:24am - What would Fred's first 100 days look like? Doesn't know what he do in completion of the first 100 days. But stated he did know what he would do for the first hour.  "Go into the Oval Office, close the door, and on his knees pray for the wisdom and the strength to know and to do what was right." (slight standing ovation followed... and as he wrapped up full fledged standing ovation and some Fred-heads chanting "Go Fred Go"

My criticism of Osteen is FROM one evangelical to another ON THE ISSUE of heresy in our faith, from our doctrinal viewpoint. His statement was an heretical one on its merits. My conclusion on his statement was that he was just careless in what he said.

It is not in any way an attempt to validate or invalidate Mormon thought especially amongst Mormons on the issue.

It is the Christian worldview that sees Christianity as something separate from Mormonism. It is the Mormon worldview that sees them as the same.

That's what you believe FINE. But as an Evangelical I have the right to point out poor doctrine with someone who believes "the same things" as I.

AND SINCE I am not electing a "Theologian" as President then... (AND HEAR ME ON THIS MORMONS) Romney IS acceptable as a strong moral values candidate who will often times defend and advance the same values we Evangelicals will.

Thus even the namesake of the most narrow-minded schools of fundamental Christianity - Bob Jones III is ENDORSING Mitt. And yesterday the leading voice of Southern Baptist Academia, Dr. Al Mohler essentially did as well. (And both of these gentlemen would view Mormonism as something different/heretical from their faith's perspectives.)

Governor Romney was on my show this week. I like him - a lot!

But I am allowed to say that we hold theologically different positions - aren't I?

Night before last Osteen continued his prime time tour promoting his new book. My cell phone rang at 1am from a friend who was rather incensed with the soundbyte that come at the very end of this segment on Larry King LIVE. Larry asks Joel the question if Mitt's Mormonism would keep him from voting for him. Osteen steered fine initially saying, that what he had read demonstrated that he was a man of character. But then Osteen veered into the unforgiveable - being a theological dufus:

"I've heard him (Mitt Romney) say that he believes in Jesus as his Savior, just like I do... I hadn't studied it deeply and maybe people don't agree with me..."

My friend who dialed me after I was in a deep sleep, called me the next day asking if I had seen it. He also wanted to know intensely if what Osteen said was in fact an endorsement of Mormonism.

On the technical side of things - the answer is yes. If Joel Osteen believes that he and Mitt worship the same "Jesus" then Osteen is a heretic and should never preach again at least certainly not in evangelical churches.

More LIKELY what happened was that he was careless. (He even fesses up to it by saying he hadn't "studied it carefully.")

Which in a very small snapshot demonstrates Osteen's problem start to finish. He's a nice guy, he gives great "power of positive thinking" pep talks. But for Heaven's sake - some one please recognize that he is either willfully negligent or completely incapable of understanding the his own theological beliefs - and as such should not be considered a Pastor in any sense of the word.

Nice guy, seems like a very good man - but a complete theological dufus.

Liberals seem to take freaky delight in imagining, making up out of the clear blue, then reporting as fact the most outlandish things...

(Air America radio host) Jon Elliott claimed on the liberal radio network that (afternoon host) Randi Rhodes had been mugged while walking her dog, Simon, on Sunday night. Elliot, who said Rhodes lost several teeth in the attack, waxed about a possible conspiracy.

"Is this an attempt by the right-wing, hate machine to silence one of our own?" he asked on the air, according to Talking Radio, a blog. "Are we threatening them? Are they afraid that we’re winning? Are they trying to silence intimidate us?"

Problem is... IT WAS JUST NOT TRUE!

A police source said Rhodes never filed a report and never claimed to be the victim of a mugging. Cops from Manhattan's 17th Precinct called her attorney, who told them Rhodes was not a victim of a crime, the source said.

Rhodes' lawyer told the Daily News she was injured in a fall while walking her dog. He said she's not sure what happened, and only knows that she fell down and is in a lot of pain. The lawyer said Rhodes expects to be back on the air Thursday. He stressed there is no indication she was targeted or that she was the victim of a "hate crime."

Look... if liberals wish to engage in the game of gotcha - that's fine. I'm sure occassionally conservatives - or someone reporting to be a conservative - will make a stupid mistake along the way and give them that chance. But making it up out of the clear blue sky is just DUMB!

And it IS one of the distinguishing characteristics of those on the right vs. the left. Conservatives have a moral code, we believe God exists, and that honesty and character DO COUNT for something...

Evidently that is not a "bipartisan viewpoint!"

The Chancellor of perhaps the world's most famously famous fundamentalist Christian University says it's all about beating Hillary. So in the heart of the Bible belt the namesake of Bob Jones University has endorsed MORMON Mitt Romney for President.

Now if he could just be as progressive about say... letting the boys sit amongst the girls in the cafeteria and chapel services!

Hillary Clinton is crying foul over "how hard it is" for her to run for President. She's in all likelihood even making up stories of how Messiah-like she is to the cause of women in America. Yet in a simple e-mail from one of our own listeners yesterday I was challenged with a very non-PC thought. The vast majority of women - would ALWAYS prefer a man to be in charge, to lead, to protect.
