"Reality Challenged"

Mr. Former Presidente', please!!! Saying that your southern border welcomes Central Americans is laughable. Saying that the MinuteMen are vigilantes, who practice violence, and are xenophobic - is a flat out lie! (h/t and many more great thoughts: Allah at HotAir)

Andrew Siff reporting...

Columbia University - you know - the same school that only days ago was welcoming Mahmoud Ahmadinejad with open arms despite thousands of New Yorker's objections, is now feigning indignation at a hangman's noose found on the door of one of it's African American professors in its Teacher's College.

But here's the million dollar dilema, how can a school pretend to be so offend by outright racism and ethnic prejudice, when they invite perhaps the most racist, anti-semitic person alive to their campus and given him an uninterrupted microphone for more than 30 minutes?

Sure the noose carries with it a frightening symbol of ignorance that still occurs today, but how does inviting one of the world's biggest terrorists to take the coveted stage send the message that you're an instution that takes a stand against such ignorance?

Inquiring minds you know...

I'm annoyed as anyone can be that Hollywood celebs continue to get second, third, or in this case FOUR DUI's without doing prison time. Sure if that were a normal person like you or me we would've been in there on strike one, two at the latest.

But Jack should've known better...

Pure Hubris? Who knows? Reality is that Huckabee is doing better in Iowa than anyone could have predicted (passed McCain, tied with Giuliani, within the margin of error with Thompson and less than 2% beyond the margin of error with Romney the leader...)

I had the great pleasure of emceeing the portion of CPAC this year the morning Governor Huckabee spoke. I spoke with him extensively behind the stage that morning. I have to tell you on a personal level there is a lot I LOVE about him.

If Giuliani is the uber-unacceptable that Dr. Dobson says he is - then Huckabee has to be the ultimate pro-family candidate. (Though Duncan Hunter would be equally acceptable - and I had the great pleasure of emceeing his portion of CPAC as well!)

Listen ON DEMAND anytime!

2pm:
On the same day that Newark Mayor Cory Booker declares victory in the war against gun violence, another shooting similar to the tragic killings of this summer breaks out. While Mayor Booker is claiming his camera program is saving lives, more lives are being lost. What is he not grasping? What does he not see? Does holding public office now mean such a secular view of things that actual true moral policies get ignored all for the love of getting re-elected? 800.345.WMCA.

2:30pm:
Feds are using immigration charges in a wide sweep of prosecutions across the nation, and guess what? Crime is getting reduced! Specifically they are using immigration charges to reduce gang violence. Wouldn't this be a much smarter and safer thing to do for the good people of Newark? How many mothers have to lose their babies before reality sets in? Sanctuary cities are dangerous to society! 800.345.WMCA.

3pm:
The Governor of New York is still pursuing his pipe dream of fake licenses for illegal aliens. His newest plan is to "persuade" police commissioner Ray Kelly that it is good for the city. Color Commissioner Kelly unpersuaded. At least at present! And why should he be if his own city libraries are offering terror recruiting Islamic texts, thus making his life even more difficult? 800.345.WMCA.

3:20pm
Whatever happened to play time? Remember recess? The exhiliration of freedom, run, laugh, scream, hang from the monkey bars... As more township schools are eliminating it from the schedule some mothers are concerned that its just not good. And I'm inclined to agree with her big time? Does your child's school eliminate or encourage free time and how do you feel about it? I mean when and where today can a kid just be a kid?800.345.WMCA.

For every critic who has ever asked the question about how much good could be done with the money that working families have been allowed to put back in their pockets because of TAX CUTS, I'd like to hear your reaction to the fact revealed today in the New York Post that Brangelina is paying $100,000 a month rent.

No seriously... I'd be really curious to hear... I'm all ears!

There is no one reading this that doesn't understand the profound respect I have for Dr. James Dobson and the AMAZING career he has maintained in fighting the fight for all that is GOOD.

Many of my colleagues in the blogosphere believe that Dobson is defacto endorsing a Hillary candidacy in the general (and at the very minimum a Romney candidacy defacto in the primary.)

One other thought that struck my mind was that this is more bluster than bluff. Could this be the scenario by which Dobson is sending the message to get behind one of the pro-life Republicans? In other words - defeat Rudy in the primary and use this threat to help garner support?

Merely asking the questions...

If Dr. Jeremiah Wright is the spiritual mentor that guides Barack Obama then it becomes easier to understand how and why Obama himself may not have that Biblical of a grasp in terms of understanding the gospel.

Remarks attributed to Wright that were posted on audio files on the Internet and cited in press accounts earlier this year may have prompted the criticism.

“Fact number one: We’ve got more black men in prison than there are in college.

"Fact number two: Racism is how this country was founded and how this country is still run.

"We are deeply involved in the importing of drugs, the exporting of guns and the training of professional killers. ... We believe in white supremacy and black inferiority and believe it more than we believe in God. ... We conducted radiation experiments on our own people. ... We care nothing about human life if the ends justify the means.

"And ... And ... And! God! Has got! To be sick! Of this sh*t!"

Let me hasten to add some of the things even mentioned in this quote lifted from one of Dr. Wright's sermons are true concerns. And wherever injustice abounds God's heart grieves.

But Dr. Wright's thinking is as hypocritical as the boogey men (real and imagined) that he takes his swipes at.

For example "Human life - and the ends justifying the means?"

Where is that more prevalent than Dr. Wright's own community where the girls from his own church are sent to go and exterminate the next generation of black boys and girls? And actually in every inner city black neighborhood where Barack Obama's votes have consistently kept the abortion industry alive through the installment of Planned Parenthood clinics!

But what drives the core of Dr. Wright's warped values? Basically, simply put - bad theology:

“To have a church whose theological perspective starts from the vantage point of Black liberation theology being its center, is not to say that African or African American people are superior to any one else. …There is more than one center from which to view the world. In the words of Dr. Janice Hale, ‘Difference does not mean deficience’ [sic]. It is from this vantage point that Black liberation theology speaks.”

To reduce the cause of the Gospel - the death of Jesus Christ, his ressurection from the dead, the Holy Spirit's call to an unbeliever and the person's response - to reduce this to merely a message of "Black Liberation" is not necessarily racist, and racial superiority as some of Dr. Wright's critics have claimed.

It is heresy...

Before white people ever had the chance to oppress and enslave blacks in Europe or North America - sin existed. Blacks enslaved, mutilated, and sacrificed other blacks on the African continent. In fact were it not for what we would now term "self-hating" black tribal leaders on the African continent who sold their fellow Africans like property - European and North American slavery would not have existed. Jews were made slaves in history. And depending on your period of history so were any number of "white" ethnicities - as was the world in a day in which WAR was even more savage than today.

Has injustice been erased? Absolutely not! But if thinking that the Gospel was meant to primarily be an allegory given primarily to explain North American Black Liberation reduces the magnificence of the miraculous work that was accomplished over ALL sin - racism included, and to create what Black Liberation does not and can not - a life line directly to God.

How well is the surge working/has worked? I don't think anything could be a stronger statement along those lines than this morning's Politico headline.

“Iraq has always been the 800-pound gorilla in the room, but there are other issues to deal with,” said Jim Manley, a spokesman for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.). “We did well with our initial agenda. Now we need to move on to a broader agenda.”

But there’s another driving factor under the radar: a latent concern that Iraq may not be as favorable a political issue for Democrats a year from now, as images of brigades of U.S. troops coming home could well be flickering on American television screens.

“They’ve run millions of dollars of ads and had untold rallies and protests, but they’re actually losing approval” on the war, said Don Stewart, a spokesman for Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.). “How’s it going to look when troops start coming home next year and, while most people are holding a ‘Welcome Home’ sign, they’re left holding a MoveOn.org ad or Code Pink banner?”

"No... I really AM a Christian!"

From a listener:

Dear Kevin,

Upon hearing your opening statements regarding Mr. Obama this afternoon on WMCA, while driving on the Long I sland Expressway, I called the program.

My first response to your comments was this; one can not stand for and approve of what God abhors and identify himself as a Christian.

By the same token, Christians can not identify or accept anyone who stands and approves of what God abhors as a fellow Christian, period.

How do I, or we know what God abhors?
It's clearly and succinctly stated, line upon line, precept upon precept, in  the revelation of His salvation plan for mankind, the Bible.

One must pick up the book, and read it. One must hear it preached, and know enough, by private study and proof text(ing), to recognize truth and error.

God has not stated, as Mr. Obama and many others who have not come to faith have stated, He works in mysterious ways. Quite the contrary, God has revealed exactly how He works in a myriad of situations, in detail, over thousands of years. He has told us we need not travel to heaven to find out how He works..we need not swim  the deepest ocean..rather, His Word is quite near to us, in our heart and even in our mouths, that is(added by Paul) the Word of faith, (which we preach).

Where do we find this..how He works? It's in that same book, the Bible.

In it, for one, life is held in highest esteem. Throughout the Torah and in the Psalms, over and over, God is named as the creator, the giver, the sustainer and the judge of all, ALL life, FOREVER, from beginning to end, hence, the name.. Alpha and Omega.

Anyone who stands for the aborting of a life at any time during a pregnancy stands in DIRECT contradiction to the will of God, period. If one reads the book, one discovers this.

Secondly, the one sentence confession heresy.."I accepted Jesus Christ into my life"..this is the most heretical teaching in all of contemporary Christian teaching. No where in the Book is this offered as a barometer of salvation. In fact, the word accept is not used one time, ever, relating to Jesus Christ, being born again, saved, or converted. We both know the Epistle to the Romans, I won't waste your eyes and my fingers.

What Obama has, as does anyone who shares his persuasion of faith, is a faith where god is self. Self is first, hence, "I accepted Jesus Christ".

Our conversion is based upon the opposite..God is always pre-eminent..God first loved us..when we realize this, and that we, least of all deserve any of this, and of Him, when we understand God's love, in that in our depravity He was there, all the time, and even before time…we begin to understand the magnitude of God..GOD. I know you have known this, I can tell just hearing your voice. Through tears and through suffering and conviction, God is first. Through joy and success, God is first. Through all of life, God is first. In death, God is first.

They would say..as in a line in the cafateria.."Grace?..oh yes, I'll take some of that..Forgiveness?? Oh yes, a double portion, please(did I ever really do anything wrong, though?) Mercy..just pile that on here..

Persecution??? Heavens, no..none of that, thank you….Ridicule..r u kidding, why?? Suffering?? Chastisement???? Fasting....Prayer….??? why?

Lastly, as I heard the callers, I would say this. America has dumbed down in the schools, it has dumbed down in the work place, it has dumbed down in the pulpit. Another Gospel is preached, every Sunday, in many churches. Speaking in tongues, healing, prophesy.. these are not the real  issue. The issue is the knowledge of the Word, Gospel of Jesus Christ and the courage to preach it and teach it.

That takes study, it takes time, but most of all, it takes a man who has fallen on his knees, literally and figuratively, thousands of times, dying to himself and living to God, even daily  before the living God of Glory.

It takes a life desired to be lived..as a Sacrament.. In this, God will grant him the heart..a heart after God, no other way.

Seventy five years ago, this country began to learn, the hard way, there was no book written to "The White Men in Selma, Alabama".

It was a long time coming, and a hard ...over due lesson.
Any one who preached a white Christian experience was simply preaching another Gospel.

By the same token, and Pastor or Church or person who believes there is a Black Christian experience somehow separated from the Christian experience and life as contained in the NT is teaching, preaching or believing another Gospel. It is heretical, and from such, all should turn away.

Any Pastor who uses the "F" word from the Pulpit need only look to the conduct of the model, our Lord, Jesus Christ, His teaching, the model of Paul, his teaching, Peter, his teaching and the teaching of every OT saint.

If such a Pastor doesn't fall under conviction and/or change his behavior..he has chosen the way of Satan himself.

He is no minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Those who sit under that preaching and teaching are in a service unduly influenced by the advisory of God and mankind, that being, again, Satan himself. That may sound extreme, and if it does, good.

In Revelation, the last words of our Lord r recorded..basically, repent or else.
There, five out of seven churches are chastised and warned.
I imagine the proportion may very well be true today.

Thank you for you service to God and mankind, may He give you the strength to take up your cross..it will get heavier.

~Mike

From a listener:

Mr. McCullough I am listening to your radio program and I am sitting here stunned at what I am hearing of the public schools allowing these kinds of behavior of students having sexual contact. Oh my God. Whatever happened to coloring books and crayons? You are absolutely right America has become to liberal and want to squelch God out of everything. I really feel bad for these parents that cannot afford to send their children to a bible believing christian school. These children will be taught immorality at such a young age.

I can be wrong but even if the parents are christians, but they have to send their children to these public schools they are just as exposed to these kinds of behavior as the rest of the world. I am a 45 year old christian woman and I remember going to school at a very young age where we said the pledge of allegiance and we said "One Nation Under God." I am glad that I am off from work today so that I can listen to both hours of your program. Although I can listen live in the evenings also.

Thank you very much for taking the time to keeping me informed.

Have A Blessed Afternoon.

Marisol

Yes Marisol, they truly are! And you're welcome.

Last week this blog titled a post as "Proof: Rudy Smokes Crack!"

The substance of the post which referred to Giuliani's belief that he can be as pro-abort, pro-gay, adulterous, cross-dressing candidate as he wishes and still seriously expect to attract born-again Christians to his cause.

When I broadcast in "the 'hood" many years ago in Chicago, many of we streetkins had and did use the expression, "what... you smokin' crack?"

Mind altering substances after all do in fact... alter the mind so that a person's reality would not in fact BE reality.

The expression therefore was an artistic way of saying, "Rudy, c'mon are you serious?" So much for art...

For those who actually BELIEVED that I was accusing the former Mayor of in fact using crack cocaine - please accept the most sincere apology I can offer.

It is this blog's firm belief that while Rudy may not be a defender of innocent human life, a protector of the God-ordained instution of biblical marriage, nor someone we would feel comfortable letting marry one of our daughters, we DO recognize his admirable work in cleaning up New York City, and simultaneously also reassert the belief that we do not now - nor have ever ACTUALLY believed the former Mayor has used crack cocaine.

Glad we could clear this up...
