Who's goin' home? For the last couple of season's I've had a decent record of predicting via the performances as seen live who would be headed home each week. This year has turned a little tricky. Dial Idol has the science of the busy signal from last night's voting. The results from their men's night was fairly easy to understand. But their women's rankings are whack. According to Dial Idol the performer's headed home tonight are: Guys - Danny Noriega, Luke Menard Girls - Three way tie between Syesha Mercado, Kady Malloy, and Alaina Whitaker And get this they've got Amanda Overmyer (the tripped out rocker/nurse) who didn't hit more than 40% of her notes last night on key as the WINNER for the girls. YIKES!!! My pics had Overmyer exiting tonight along with Malloy - who seems like a funny, bright, even talented girl but has just not found a way to bring it on stage yet. ( For the guys I had the same pics as Dial Idol.) Should be an interesting results show, here's my dilemma - LOST, Celebrity Apprentice w/ THE MAN - Stevie B., and Idol results. Am only able to DVR two shows at a time...

"I'm running for President to build an America that lives up to our founding promise of equality for all – a promise that extends to our gay brothers and sisters. It's wrong to have millions of Americans living as second-class citizens in this nation. And I ask for your support in this election so that together we can bring about real change for all LGBT Americans. Equality is a moral imperative. That's why throughout my career, I have fought to eliminate discrimination against LGBT Americans. In Illinois, I co-sponsored a fully inclusive bill that prohibited discrimination on the basis of both sexual orientation and gender identity, extending protection to the workplace, housing, and places of public accommodation. In the U.S. Senate, I have co-sponsored bills that would equalize tax treatment for same-sex couples and provide benefits to domestic partners of federal employees. And as president, I will place the weight of my administration behind the enactment of the Matthew Shepard Act to outlaw hate crimes and a fully inclusive Employment Non-Discrimination Act to outlaw workplace discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity. As your President, I will use the bully pulpit to urge states to treat same-sex couples with full equality in their family and adoption laws. I personally believe that civil unions represent the best way to secure that equal treatment. But I also believe that the federal government should not stand in the way of states that want to decide on their own how best to pursue equality for gay and lesbian couples — whether that means a domestic partnership, a civil union, or a civil marriage. Unlike Senator Clinton, I support the complete repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) – a position I have held since before arriving in the U.S. Senate. While some say we should repeal only part of the law, I believe we should get rid of that statute altogether. Federal law should not discriminate in any way against gay and lesbian couples, which is precisely what DOMA does. I have also called for us to repeal Don't Ask, Don't Tell, and I have worked to improve the Uniting American Families Act so we can afford same-sex couples the same rights and obligations as married couples in our immigration system. The next president must also address the HIV/AIDS epidemic. When it comes to prevention, we do not have to choose between values and science. While abstinence education should be part of any strategy, we also need to use common sense. We should have age-appropriate sex education that includes information about contraception. We should pass the JUSTICE Act to combat infection within our prison population. And we should lift the federal ban on needle exchange, which could dramatically reduce rates of infection among drug users. In addition, local governments can protect public health by distributing contraceptives. We also need a president who's willing to confront the stigma – too often tied to homophobia – that continues to surround HIV/AIDS. I confronted this stigma directly in a speech to evangelicals at Rick Warren's Saddleback Church, and will continue to speak out as president. That is where I stand on the major issues of the day. But having the right positions on the issues is only half the battle. The other half is to win broad support for those positions. And winning broad support will require stepping outside our comfort zone. If we want to repeal DOMA, repeal Don't Ask, Don't Tell, and implement fully inclusive laws outlawing hate crimes and discrimination in the workplace, we need to bring the message of LGBT equality to skeptical audiences as well as friendly ones – and that's what I've done throughout my career. I brought this message of inclusiveness to all of America in my keynote address at the 2004 Democratic convention. I talked about the need to fight homophobia when I announced my candidacy for President, and I have been talking about LGBT equality to a number of groups during this campaign – from local LGBT activists to rural farmers to parishioners at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, where Dr. Martin Luther King once preached. Just as important, I have been listening to what all Americans have to say. I will never compromise on my commitment to equal rights for all LGBT Americans. But neither will I close my ears to the voices of those who still need to be convinced. That is the work we must do to move forward together. It is difficult. It is challenging. And it is necessary. Americans are yearning for leadership that can empower us to reach for what we know is possible. I believe that we can achieve the goal of full equality for the millions of LGBT people in this country. To do that, we need leadership that can appeal to the best parts of the human spirit. Join with me, and I will provide that leadership. Together, we will achieve real equality for all Americans, gay and straight alike."

Geraldine Ferrero is one of the poorest political strategists who ever lived. She was one of the most ineffective candidates who ever ran. The ticket she ran on lost 49 states, and the GOP still wants a recount of Minnesota.
Listen to the shrew spew... utter race baiting, sore loser, nonsense start to finish...
GLORIOUS isn't it!

...better than the boys?... The instant reaction to tonight's performances - a little better than the boys, and our favorites are shining brighter this week than last... The Lovely Bride and I DID agree tonight... here's the power rankings based on our assessment - Dial Idol will have details in the morning. (Overall ranking based on all performances to date...) 1. Brooke White - 1 (1) 2. Carly Smithson - 2 (2) 3. Syesha Mercado - 3 (3) 4. Alaina Whitaker - 4 (5) 5. Ramiele Malubay - 5 (3)6. Asia'h Epperson - 6 (5) 7. Kristy Lee Cook - 7 (8) 8. Alexandra Lushington - 8 (7) 9. Kady Malloy - 9 (9) 10. Amanda Overmyer - 10 (10) Basically there is nothing but love for Brooke White, she's got the winsome personality, keen sense of how to pick the perfect song, and has played to her strength thus far. Similarly Carly Smithson has played to similar strengths. There is also some separation between those two and the rest of the field though on pure likability and total package Syesha is moving up quickly - AS IS Alaina (Simon officially declaring her the dark horse of the contest as of tonight.)

...the fib was this big... If this report is true, then somebody been makin' up a ho-bunch-o-stories. David Brody of CBN is reporting that Obama's camp is circulating a document claiming they have taken the lion's share of the "faith" vote. But they're math doesn't add up: New Hampshire 37 % of those who attend church weekly voted for Obama (32% HRC) South Carolina 64% of those who attend church more than weekly voted for Obama (23% HRC) Alabama
61% of those who attend church more than weekly voted for Obama (36% HRC) Georgia: 69% of those who attend church more than weekly voted for Obama (29% HRC) 71% of those who attend church monthly voted for Obama (29% HRC)
Missouri 59% of those who attend church weekly voted for Obama (40% HRC) New Jersey 56% of those who attend church more than weekly voted for Obama (34% HRC)
Credibility problems include specifics like: Is the Obama camp claiming these as absolute numbers - that honestly 71% of those who attend church monthly in the Bible belt state of Georgia voted him? Meaning the remaining 29% was split between all those "evangelicals" who voted Republican, and his opponent Mrs. Clinton? For every category that claims even a majority of church goers in a given state - does that mean that fewer church goers voted Republican in their primary combined than voted for him as a single candidate? NO! What these numbers mean is that Obama's camp is lying. Lying BIG TIME! Given that church going evangelicals are the most reliable voting block for the GOP, Obama's camp isn't even the least bit sophisticated in how they try to tell such stories. But whoppers they are circulating nonetheless... Big fat huge whoppers...

...far better than week one... The Lovely Bride and I are not in complete agreement... Danny Noriega - the girl, (for crying out loud he did a Karen Carpenter arrangement last night - and Paula complimented him for it...) and Luke Menard - the Ken doll who... well... never mind... need to be voted off after Tuesday's performances. (Although it should be noted - they both had better nights than Hillary..) Or so I say... TLB says Danny "the girl" Noriega, and Robbie "I'm wearing a wig" Carrico need to go... The way I scored the night based on the evening's performances: (plus their overall score based on performances to date...) 1. David Archuleta - (2) 2. David Hernandez - (3) 3. Michael Johns - (1) 4. David Cook - (5) 5. Chekieze - (5) 6. Jason Castro - (4) 7. Jason Yeager - (7) 8. Robbie Carrico - (8) 9. Luke Menard - (9) 10. Danny Noriega - (10) Dial Idol is back with the science of the busy signal... The Lovely Bride and I were talking about who we see making it to the top 12. Right now the only ones I feel sure about are Johns, Archuleta, and Hernandez. The girls perform tonight and by Thursday we're down to the top 16... By the way it was gratifying to see that Idol easily beat the Oscars this week... though by comparison Oscar this year was the least politically polarizing that it has been in years.

...inclined to stay home... My syndicated column created a f'ir bit of anger and controversy yesterday. But the long and short of it is this Bible believing Christians do NOT have permission to abdicate their positions as citizen rulers. Christians who are arguing that they have the right to not participate in the general election of 2008 are demonstrating two things. 1. Their lack of understanding of the real role of American citizens. (It is WE THE PEOPLE who govern and we lend our permission for an administrator to steer the ship for four to eight years at a time.)
2. Their ignorance in their roles in the stewardship to rule justly, in addition to rendering to the governing authority what is in the realm of civil government - as long as it does not violate Biblical truth. Read the column and weigh in the comments here...

...would do it again... By a vote of 142 to 138 the Arlington Oregon mayor who posed in her skivvies on MySpace and then was stunned that a)her voters would find out, and b)that they would care was recalled.
Firmly grasping non-reality she still believed the recall vote had more to do with her firing of two workers from the municipal golf course...
Some of her defenders on message boards this morning are claiming this doesn't rise to the level of offense of Billy Jeff's bad behavior in the Oval Office. The argument is since what he did was "worse" and he didn't lose his job...
(eyes rolling)
Acting on a hunch I've also been scanning the internets all morning to attempt to decipher her party affiliation - which strangely is quite the secret. That puts it squarely in the realm of being a liberal democrat... if she were a conservative, and caught all this heat - she would be the poster child for "hypocrite, hypocrite, hypocrite" all over the nation.

...hey, I don't wanna go... The New York Times is buzzing with word that Leno, who will be elbowed out at year's end by NBC/Conan O'Brien - is still a free agent and a young guy at 57. And sounds like plenty of offers still have a lot of teeth to them... Sony Pictures Television has made an approach through intermediaries to let Mr. Leno and his representatives know that as soon as he is allowed to discuss his next move, the studio will make him a rich offer for a syndicated late-night show that would make him the highest-paid host in late-night television, put his name on a new theater on the Sony lot and give him a financial interest in Sony music artists who appear on his show.

...cry more... “I think she’s struggling with the likeability. I genuinely think she should cry more. That’s what happened before. She cried, she won.” - Simon Cowell on Hillary Clinton on tonight's Extra.
Funny thing is I'm pretty sure the American public has seen enough of the Hillary mood swings. Now she just needs to go away. Far, far, away...

Dear God please let her lose all four states on the mini-super Tuesday next week. Her arrogance, obnoxiousness, complaining whines, and frightening cackles have removed every last bit of anything resembling tolerance for her. Please God - have mercy on all of us and let her go down to humiliating defeat so that we can never again be forced to listen to anyone named Clinton. And... well... since she mentioned it:

BEST of BlogTalkRadio Was not aware of this but Stevie B's and my tapings for our upcoming Demo of our new national show was a hit with the BlogTalkRadio network - which provided us an internet audience to do the taping in front of. BTR has had a very good run recently given the fact that they are now popping up in the normal talk radio trades... AND Conde Nast. The portion of our discussion that was held with KISS front man Gene Simmons made their "Best of" segment. You can hear that discussion here:

"...I wish I knew how to quit you..." One of the truly nicest yet simultaneously funniest guys in the cable-news universe has gone missing. What happened to John Gibson? Granted his television show was WAY funnier and much punchier before they hauled Heather Nauert off the reporting beat and put her in the studio with him. But where the heck has he gone? Last night (Monday) they'd put Bill Hemmer and Megyn Kelly on split shifts doing the 5pm EST hour now and calling it something plain vanilla like "America's Election HQ" (auuuughhhh puke...).
Granted most people will easily see that Kelly for Nauert is a monstrous trade-up - but I want me some Gibson. He's sarcastic, saucy, and ever one to lay the double-meaning at the drop of a reference to Obama.
But that's why we like him...
And as I type this Gibson is doing a "guest" spot in the time frame that he used to own?
What the heck?
