It hurts to know that Obama is such a huckster that he's fooling even some of my own relatives. The blinded who get suckered into "hope and change" and have literally no idea what he means.
Of course I predicted it all in December of 2006, I guess we just always hold out hope that people we're related to are smarter than the rest of the lemmings going over the cliff.
Anyway... I thought Juan's observations are some vindication of my own thoughts on Obama's speech today...

"Black" Value System? “It saddens me to see news stories reporting such a caricature of a congregation that has been such a blessing to the UCC’s Wider Church mission,” said the Rev. John H. Thomas, UCC general minister and president, in a released statement. “ … It’s time for us to say ‘No’ to these attacks and declare that we will not allow anyone to undermine or destroy the ministries of any of our congregations in order to serve their own narrow political or ideological ends.”
Hey here's an idea... how about if Dr. Wright just hadn't preached stupid racist - anti-biblical stuff to begin with? Hey - what if he had actually taught the text - for what the text was saying? Hey - how about not lying about Jesus' lineage - calling him a black man - when Dr. Wright's buddy "Islamic minister" Farrakhan calls Jews mongrels? Hey how about not running a racist web-site and then hiding it when called for it? Just an idea... Hey how about not just making things up like - the U.S. "inventing or creating" the AIDS virus to manipulate the black population in the U.S.? Too much to ask?

"Moh-mee!" Ok the pop culture is all celebrating (goin' goo-goo, ga-ga over) Halle Berry's baby - a newborn little girl. (sigh) I'm sure glad she CHOSE to have the baby - and not abort. I'm grateful that she viewed the little life as it grew within her these last nine months as something special. I also just wish she would have realized and admitted to the value it would be to her little girl's life to have a mother and a father who are in a marriage to one another. Oh but don't worry, Berry told "Oprah" that they were "fully committed" to one another... (because THAT kind of security always turns out so well...)

AP Photo: Federal Reserve Chairman BenWhen the Lovely Bride is reading ME headlines off of Drudge about companies getting bought out for $2.00 a share - then we all know IT'S BAD! Looks like the fed wants to do something... One solution that ALWAYS works is - lower taxes! Lower interests rates work well too! Commodities always seem to be nice diversity at a time like this as well. Senators Obama, Clinton? Bueller?

Yep! Human sexuality is a tricky thing the bottom line, and I'm CONFIDENT that Dr. Laura believes it regardless of what this clip leads one to think, is that Spitzer's job is to keep his pants zipped. However, her overall principle is also TRUE. Men are simple, God designed us this way so that we could focus more easily on the big tasks of protection and provision for the families we are responsible for. Wanna keep a man happy, and engaged in a marriage - it's not rocket science: feed him, sleep with him and demonstrate genuine respect for his efforts. All snickering aside, if a woman does all three - it's nearly impossible for her man to even think about desiring another woman.

Is Kristy going home? If it was truly based on the quality of the performances last night on American Idol, Kristy Lee Cook would be headed home tonight to round-up her horses and be the tom-boy that she loves being. Her less endowed Dolly Parton wannabe act last night was one of the most pathetic things ever to be aired in American Idol's seven year history. Clive Davis most likely literally hurled in his gold and diamond plated private bathroom just to cope... Something tells me that despite the spoiler sites and what they are saying today, I have a feeling that Kristy is safe and the victim tonight will be Ramiele Mulaby. DialIdol says the science of the busy signal is predicting that Syesha Mercado is the one on the chopping block tonight. Last week my prediction record was finally able to recover to the .500% level. At 6&6 I certainly don't have a track record in this season's voting patterns to be trusted but if I did have to bet the farm, my sense tells me that the busy signal predictions of DialIdol are becoming increasingly irrelevant. What do I base that on? The Lovely Bride voted for Brook White and Syesha Mercado several times - via TEXT. Which is likely becoming the increasing method of voting - of choice. My hunch says Syesha connects with more viewers than Rumiele, and despite the HORRID performance Kristy's look and a-"cute"-trements will keep her around at least one more week. Rumiele is gone, at least that's my pick and I'm sticking to it. One a separate note, it looks like Chekieze is as nice a person as everyone thinks he is. He blew the doors off the hinges with his performance last night. TMZ is calling him a Jesus' "Homeboy" - which is their way of saying he's a perv or something. But if you listen to his goals, standards, and expectations - there is nothing but RESPECT to be had for this young energetic performer.
