BLASPHEMERS I'm not going to weigh into the fight over California, New Mexico, Arizona. I've never been a resident that tracked my lineage through any of those states. But Absolut Vodka had best check their history if they believe for a second that anyone from Texas is going to tolerate their little play on "cutesy" with the map above. Non Texans get tired of us saying it - but it doesn't make it any less true. Texas won it's OWN independence from Mexico and sovereignly governed itself as a NATION for quite some time and quite effectively before becoming apart of the continental USA. We shed blood at the Alamo - in a valiant but losing cause to General Santa Anna - only to weaken Mexican forces enough that in only a matter of days we routed Mexican forces. For Absolut to believe that Mexicans even had a prayer of a chance of THINKING about Texas as some sort of Reconquista territory is a matter of sheer ignorance. Texas was the only state that could have successfully survived as an independent republic between the powerful United States, and the seemingly ever impoverished Mexican territory. They are also the only state at present that has more than 80% of the natural resources found in the rest of the entirety of the United States - within their own borders. In other words - they could put a fence up around the border of Texas and Texans would keep on thriving just fine! Absolut is absolutely mistaken, and if this were another time, in another era... if they dared to step foot in the land of the Lone Star, they might not have escaped without having their necks stretched.

If you missed it tonight - Dennis Miller was worth catching on O'time. "One thing he knows about America is that its a place where you can stand at the pulpit and say that the government injected members of your race with the AIDS virus, and not have to worry about the government coming and injecting you with the AIDS virus!
Because if you tried that under Uncle Joe, de Fuhror, or Il Duce, you wouldn't have made it to the "j" in injected, and all you would have heard is crickets by that point!"
And don't miss the bonus coverage of AlGore...

The Lovely Bride vs. KMC Quite normally in years past the Lovely Bride and I have BOTH often pulled for the same American Idol as they wove their way through the weeks of competition. This year's class of contestants is so very good from a talent perspective that we are finding ourselves increasingly at odds over who we are pulling for. I will tell you - it's difficult not to love the Lovely Bride's choice - Brook White, because on overall passion, spirit, enthusiasm, and personality it is doubtful there has been a more likable person on the show in its history. But is she the best singer? Is she even the best musician? In terms of musicianship - I think that David Cook can go toe to toe with her. In terms of raw vocal passion - Michael Johns is ever bit the passionate performer she is. In terms of vocal range Syesha Mercado and Carly Smithson both have her beat. But that darn grin is so hard not to pull for. Last night I think we saw Remiele give her swan song. DialIdol has the science of the busy signal and they seem to indicate the same thing. I voted for the third week in a row for Syesha. I didn't even really like her in the early weeks! BUT... She's proven she has the biggest voice in the competition. She's got the biggest range, broadest appeal, and she too has a fun personality. Brooke may be the all-American girl next door, but Syesha IS the best singer left in the contest... and this IS a singing competition... Isn't it?

"for the BLACK baby!" It's long been established that Margaret Sanger the founder of Planned Parenthood was a known racist. It's also been known for the longest time that she desired to eliminate people of color. It's also been known that if a slave living on the "Democratic Party" plantation would sing and dance that he could make lots of money, power, and fame in DNC circles for refusing to say anything... so Jesse and Al have been singin' an dancin'. Now it's Barack's turn. Watch this clip, listen to the actual phone calls from actual Planned Parenthood clinics and then explain to me why there is not a burning rage over this? If James Meeks can call Chicago's Mayor Daley a plantation owner, if Dr. Jeremiah Wright can hate whitey for a good collection plate, if ALL the indignation being expressed across America at the terrible state of race today can be milked for every ounce of what can be manipulated from it... Then why in the name of the ALMIGHTY isn't someone standing up and screaming about THIS? I AM the father of a boy who was at one time not many years ago A BLACK BABY! Now I as a young white man father seem to be the only one really bothered by such demonic intent...

...you punch like a Bosnian girl... Two new polls show Obama with a HUGE swing in Pennsylvania where the television ads are running 5 to 1in his favor. (And they JUST got started...) In one poll he is showing a lead already... But if you carve up Pennsylvania here's why he will win the state... Senator Santorum has oft described the state to me this way: Pennsylvania is Pittsburgh on one end, Philadelphia on the other, with Alabama and Mississippi in between.Obama leads in Philly AND Pittsburgh at present... and WHO won Alabama and Mississippi?

"rrrruff in peace!" The big O is dedicating an entire upcoming show to her now month long deceased cocker spaniel, Sophie. (Reports are Gayle is purple with envy....) Actually the episode is intended to highlight the horrific stories of those haunting places known as "puppy mills." The justification for such excess is because "Sophie gave me 13 years of unconditional love. (That's like four times as much as Stedman. And...) She was a true love in my life." Now before all you whacky dog lovers go hatin' on me understand this. I've had multiple dogs over my life and seeing them die was terrible each time. But can we please begin to see dogs for what they are. Stupid Creatures... Soulless creatures... Creatures that were designed for our companionship and enjoyment - BUT NOT fulfillment! That's why God gave us CHILDREN. Even the NatGeo Channel's Dog Whisperer confirms that the biggest problems dogs have in living with their masters - is that people treat them like human babies - not as DOGS. It HAS to be a sign of a morally confused nation when we love our pets MORE than we love our children! So I'm still waiting for Oprah to do a show-long story dedicated to the horrific and haunting "baby-mills" of this land...

Artistic Bigotry Boy makes bold statement of religious belief. Teacher tells boy to remove the reference because other students were "making remarks" about it. Boy tells teacher to eat it. Teacher tells boy he gave up his right to religious expression by taking the class. Later in the same day Assistant Principal tells boy that his religious expression infringed on other students' rights. Boy tells Assistant Principal to pound sand. Boy gets double detention for his efforts.

I know that I'm a little late in the day to comment on this, but seeing the headline reminded me that I had heard the soundbyte earlier... Does Hillary run anything by her campaign staff? ROCKY LOST... Well... except at the Oscars later that year. But shrillary's acting skills are considerably less than the monosyllabic grunter...
