David Brody
"Can't we all just get along?"

Is CBN's David Brody in the tank for Obama?

One has to wonder when you read his new missive that is more or less a lecture to the pro-lifers within Christianity and its implication that we should stop telling the truth about Obama's factual record on his singularly unique feat of being the only United States Senator to ever vote in favor of denying life-sustaining medical care for children who have been born.

After a lot of self congratulation about how important his blog is to the discussion, and what a great job he does pretending not to take sides, he then cops to the issue by saying, "I can't take the time to explain the details," (of Obama's record on infanticide.) Proceeds to print a specially prepared statement from the Obama camp - for the record. (The record, of course being the the details he couldn't bother giving us.) And then goes on the attack against Jill Stanek for a quote that is in fact - TRUE!

David - do you even understand what the Born Alive Infant Protection act IS? Do you understand the process of how it was happening at Christ hospital in Chicago? Do you interview Jill Stanek - the nurse that is on record as witnessing the acts?

Babies WERE literally placed in soiled utility closets, trash bins, medical waste places - whatever you want to play semantics with...

David it is nearly as "offensive and insulting" that you have taken a side - while saying you didn't, as it is that Obama voted to deny life saving medical treatment to children who had been born - and would've survived had they merely been given their God-authored rights to do so.

Keep your eye on the ball...

I know Drudge has had it splashed has his top headline for a few hours but McCain supporters should not draw great encouragement from the now 5pt lead McCain has in the newest poll...

It is meaningless for two reasons...

1. It is ZOGBY a pollster whose actual record is reliably one thing... unreliable.

2. It is August. And while trends moving in McCain's direction are important, needed, and good. (Kerry and Gore both lost ground in August.) The margin in this race is far too close to allow a five point lead to lull anyone into thinking that the corner has been turned.

The truly most important thing that will happen this week is the selection of the Veeps. I personally don't think Obama will take any of the "four big names" that keep being floated.

And if McCain wishes to undo all this momentum that he has gained since his strong showing Saturday night - the best thing he could do is pick a running mate that would be in conflict with his own positions on life, marriage, taxes, national security, etc...

And picking someone who once voted for a nuclear freeze, and supports Obama's Freedom of Choice Act, is probably the dumbest thing he could do...

And then there's this guy... (painful video)

And can someone please explain to me why Barack Obama wants me to pay for HIS health care?

"...I'm just so confused..."

Because it may well be too complicated for him to know for sure. And granted he believes it would be a decision above his pay-grade... so he needs your help.

Does THIS GIRL HERE deserve to live, or to even be pronounced alive?

By his own belief about morality - Barack is unsure...

By his own belief on children who are born he would have legislated death... and lied about it.

No good...

"No. I think he needed to be more specific on that. I happen to disagree with Barack on that. Like I said, he's a friend. But to me, I would not want to die and get before God one day and go, 'Oh, sorry, I didn't take the time to figure out' because if I was wrong then it had severe implications to my leadership if I had the ability to do something about it. He should either say, 'No scientifically, I do not believe it's a human being until X' or whatever it is or to say, 'Yes, I believe it is a human being at X point,' whether it's conception or anything else. But to just say 'I don't know' on the most divisive issue in America is not a clear enough answer for me.

That's why to say that evangelicals are a monolith is a myth, but the other thing is that you've been hearing a lot of the press talk about 'Well, evangelicals are changing, they're now interested in poverty and disease and illiteracy, and all the stuff I've been talking about for five years now. And I have been seeding that into the evangelical movement and it's getting picked up and a lot of people are talking about doing humanitarian efforts. But I really think it's wishful thinking on a lot of people who think they're going to drop the other issues. They're not leaving pro-life, I'm just trying to expand the agenda....

If an evangelical really believes that the Bible is literal--in other word in Psalm 139 God says 'I formed you in your mother's womb and before you were born I planned every day of your life,' if they believe that's literally true, then they can't just walk away from that. They can add other issues, but they can't walk away from the belief that at conception God planned that child and to abort it would be to short circuit the purpose."

Ok, I recognize it is not a nice question to ask of a nice person, but is it not the same sort of assumption she made about John McCain on Saturday night?

"He was so well prepared."

As if he could have ONLY been well prepared - by "cheating"?

Camp McCain has every right to hit back as hard as possible against NBC News today. Of course any network, or conglomerate that employs Keith Olbermann deserves to be laughed out of the ranks of journalism all together.

Katy Perry -- "I Kissed a Girl"

In recent weeks a girl whose real name is Katie Hudson and who had previously recorded "Christian music" has had the number one single under her new identity/persona by telling the world she's kissed a girl and she likes it.

Her recent touring acts have actually now begun to include liasons in which she body surfs the crowds while singing her hit song, and ending the performance by picking out a girl in the crowd and locking lips with her.

Over the last number of weeks I've heard more than I wanted to about how Katy had formerly performed "Christian" music and worse yet people's assumptions that Katy's parents were just fine with her choices all for the sake of the mighty buck.

Not so much as it turns out...

"Katy knows how I feel," her mother, Mary Hudson, told the London Daily Mail. "We are a very outspoken family and she knows how disappointed her father and I are. I can't even listen to that song. The first time I heard it I was in total shock. When it comes on the radio I bow my head and pray.

"I hate the song. It clearly promotes homosexuality and its message is shameful and disgusting."

"Katy was raised in a very strict Christian household," said Hudson. "She started performing in church at nine. She was a special child, she loved to sing and had an angelic voice. That is why this is all so disappointing and sad. "I think she acts and says certain things to be provocative and to shock."

"Katy is not a homosexual but I fear she has been led astray by the Hollywood crowd," said Hudson. "Katy was spotted by a music producer who invited her to L.A. That's when she started to change.

"I was worried she'd start doing drugs and drinking alcohol. I still am. I spoke to her only recently. She said, 'Oh Mom, I'm not going to turn into Amy Winehouse.'"

No, as it turns out Katy's choices have caused great heartache for Mom and Dad, something she no doubt is completely willing to exploit as long as her song stays at the top of the charts.

"I love pop music. I've been around kids that hate selling records and enjoy being the starving artist," she told the UK's DigitalSpy. "But I want to play stadiums. I want to sell records. I want to be a pop girl!"

"I'm not ashamed of it," she said. "Everyone's looking for me to be, 'Well, I'm so ashamed of it and that's why I kissed a girl!' No way! I still have 'Jesus' tattooed on my wrist. And I still have faith and a foundation of my own."

SURPRISE?

Some will argue that I never had anything to be concerned about, but given what his record has been when it comes to this political/faith intersection, I was more than pessimistic about the quality of what was going to happen with the candidates last night.

Moreover Warren's previously unrepentant "fan-ness" of Obama going so far as to serve as a private adviser of Obama - I questioned whether the goals of the forum were going to be met.

At the end of the night... I have to admit - I was not just surprised, I was shocked.

Warren's line of questioning was surprisingly consistent and precise to both candidates. Tuning in initially during Obama's portion I was peeved that Warren did not press on the follow ups - but at the conclusion of McCain's time slot I felt nothing but agreement with Charles Krauthammer on FNC - it was the finest forum of the election thus far.

Rick Warren has given America significant reasons to be concerned about his involvement in the political debate. Not critiquing Obama's gospel of condoms at his AIDS conference two years ago still standing out as the most predominant example.

But that being said - Warren corrected a good deal of that perception last night. And interestingly enough - after promising a grilling over "non-asked questions" about poverty, AIDS, etc. He actually really did ask about the most important issues to evangelicals - the definition of life, the definition of marriage, religious freedom/liberty, and of course biggies like taxes and national security.

For my pre-forum pessimism Pastor Warren, please accept this cynic's sincere apology...

More on my assessment of Mr. Obama's underwhelming performance tomorrow in my syndicated column.

Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko (R) holds a welcoming ceremony for visiting U.S. President George W. Bush in Kiev, capital of Ukraine, April 1, 2008. Bush arrived in Kiev late on Monday, kicking off his two-day state visit.
Feeling the love...

The Georgian crisis with Russia is something that gives everyone in Europe cause for pause, but consider how the rest of Europe has responded. Instead of cowering to Putin's muscle, the leaders of other likely Russian aspirations not only all met with the Georgian government with strong solidarity, but are making overt gestures to the U.S. even now when it could cause the Russian sore to become even more inflamed.

A missile defense deal with Poland signed and in effect, now Ukraine is offering up old Soviet facilities for the U.S. to do something similar.

If Russia suffers from paranoia about freedom edging too closely to its border, it seems it has taken exactly the wrong actions to slow its process.

Watch out kids! Those fish and chips you are eating could get you taken away from your parents!

"A government association representing more than 400 councils in England and Wales said parents of dangerously obese children are at risk of losing them."

I know that governments have had burgeoning stretches of power, but to take over the parental responsibility of nutrition at the family dinner table is exceeding the limit.  I don't mind if cafeterias in government sponsored schools choose to serve healthier foods...but don't decide equate childhood obesity with parental neglect.

http://www.lifehack.org/wp-content/files/2008/02/coffee.jpg

There's a new coffeeshop open where you "don't have to worry about listening to beatnik poetry or some political ideology that makes me want to vomit."

The new Conservative Cafe is the alternative to your typical "traditional liberal bastion coffeehouses."

The owner, Dave Beckham believes: "Coffee shouldn't be about sitting in a cafe for 12 hours. Coffee gets us through our workday. It's what we drink before we make steel for the rest of the country or head out into the fields."

He also sells conservative shirts with phrases like ""Zip It, Hippie," "Peace through Superior Firepower," and "Silly liberal. . . . Paychecks are for Workers" printed on them.

Despite the cafe's name, Beckham's partner is a Democrat and they frequently extend their "operating hours to accommodate an ideologically mixed group of "Hannity & Colmes" fans, who wanted to watch the show and debate the topics."

If you are wondering what to order, the "Radical Right" coffee ("the cafe's strongest roast") would probably be the best choice. Or you can try" conservative, moderate and liberal—the latter of which Beckham describes as a "Colombian decaf with no substance." How appropriate.

Neutered boy...

It seems to me that Obama has to have the thinnest skinned supporters of any national candidate I've seen in years of election cycles. Well today the Obama camp actually spent time responding to an internet video released by Citizen Link (the action arm of Focus On The Family.)

Obama knows that Dobson supporters already know that he's the only elected official to ever cast votes in favor of killing children that have been actually BORN, still he's soooooo worried that someone might have a bit of fun at his expense. It reminds me of the girl who goes to prom who spends the whole night thinking someone else will show up in the same dress she wore -- stupid!

Well for your benefit - here's what had camp Obama shaking in their boots today...

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/telegraph/multimedia/archive/00789/lin-yang-460_789580c.jpg

Here is a new twist American Idol can think about adding to it's next season: Pick the contestant with the best voice, see if their face is "flawless" enough for TV, decide they aren't "cute" enough, pick a prettier contestant to lip sync to their voice and take all the credit on national television in front of billions of people.

Sound twisted? That's what happened in the Olympic opening ceremonies just a few days ago.

Seven-year-old Yang Peiyi's voice is the one we all heard. But because Yang wasn't "flawless in image" (as Chinese children are supposedly required to be),  Lin Miaoke was chosen to lip sync to Yang's voice. There is something disturbing about an events manager who is criticizing the looks of a seven year old and how it will affect the Chinese image...

I know that the trend tends to be that women dislike their bodies during pregnancy and some struggle with getting them to a point where they want them to be afterwards, but PREGOREXIA???

Really?

"Obama would've let me die in a dirty linen closet...
and now he's lying to you about it!"

It's not easy these days to pin down a politician and demonstrate without any question of a doubt that they have told a 100% total fib. But that's not the case for Barack Obama. Certainly this is another distinguished achievement he can add to his mantle...

Jill Stanek reports the absolute truth. Barack has lied about it from the beginning.

Barack Obama is the only elected U.S. Senator that has the distinct honor of voting in favor of the brutal, painful, and torture-filled taking of children's lives - here in the United States.

Children languishing, desperately needing simple things like food and hydration were allowed to die of hideously painful starvation, neglect, and extenuating injuries from botched procedures.

This gruesome reality was too barbaric for Feinstein, Boxer, and eventually NARAL.

NOW Barack Obama is telling lies about what he actually did... But Stanek - the nurse who broke the story wide open, and lost her job in the process - has busted him again.

Barack Obama is truly breaking down barriers, and going places where no candidate has dared... but maybe that was because of a little things called decency and compassion.
