Students look up to Joshua Alexander, who teaches 7th and 8th grade at Lilla G. Frederick Pilot Middle School in Dorchester. The school has recruited males and has 23 men on its faculty of 55.

If guys are looking for role models in culture, they don't have very many to choose from. Male leads in entertainment tend to be played up for humor (think of the guys you see in The Office, Dodgeball, etc.) or are loved for their superpowers (Superman, Batman, Spiderman, James Bond, Iron Man).

If culture doesn't provide a good example of masculinity, who does?

The Family? No, with the rates of divorce as high as they are, a lot of boys grow up in broken homes.

In school? No, not there either. Men are disappearing from the classroom. The number of male teachers is at an all-time low with a mere 24% of teachers being men. "I don't think I've interviewed any males in the last five or six years," elementary school principal Thomas DeVito said. "At his Ferryway School, where boys slightly outnumber girls, male teachers are a rare species, presiding over only four of the 35 classrooms."

Our boys are growing up in a vacuum of masculinity.

The perfect book that analyzes these cultural transitions and provides a response that is not intimidated by the weight of the dilemma is "The Kind of Man Every Man Should Be" by our own KMC. We can't afford to not understand these issues.

More FoxNewsing in today...

Yesterday Super Producer Mike Straka asked me to stay over for an extra hour and do the first portion of the Heather Nauert show on the Strategy Room at FoxNews. Heather gave a generous shout out on my new book (signed copies of which can be secured by clicking on the Blog Ad icon to the right of this entry).

She said she is reading it presently and felt like it has some really GREAT things to say.

Well in seven minutes we'll be back at it again in the Strategy Room, and you can watch all of it LIVE 11a-1p EST by clicking here.

Leventhal's Place

I don't think Courtney Friel will be on with us this morning, but I will be hanging with Rick and company this morning in Fox's Strategy Room. Ed Morrissey described it as a poker game without cards...

Pretty good analogy...

I will have e-mail and facebook accessible during the session so message me whatever pops into your head on the topics we are discussing, or if you just hate my choice of tie this morning.

2. Prop 8 HATERS: "UNDO the Constitution!!!":

The protestors that got SPANKED by the elections of 2008 in California seem to be unable to lose graciously. What they now insist upon doing is tearing up the governing document of the state. How to lose, when you lose, is not something these sore losers are able to get over. They've also now gone so far as to publish a document of every name that gave even as little as a $100 towards Prop 8's passage. (Even though they spent 4 times the amount of money as the winners did.) Is it time for the ObamaMessiah to tell the Prop 8 H8ters to go home? After all his "landslide victory" was by the same margin they lost by 52-48%. Agree/Disagree - and if you disagree you get to go to the front of the line... 800.345.9622.

Some political figures inspire you to donate to a cause, to become concerned about issues overseas, or become personally involved in helping others. Newsweek reported recently that our newest political hero, president-elect Obama, will spark a new trend among the American people...more sex.

In the article "Change You Can Conceive In" Newsweek suggests that the exuberance over Obama's election will spark a surge in pregnancies. Urban dictionary has been updated to reflect the projected trend by adding the term "Obama Baby": "A child conceived after Obama was proclaimed President by way of celebratory sex."

The author cited Abbi Whitaker, 32, of Reno, Nev. who said: "On election night, my husband had managed to down a bottle and a half of wine in celebration and he was all about making an 'Obama election baby.' He thought it would be the coolest thing."

Newsweek sees nothing wrong with this possibility since the same euphoricness after JFK's election may have contributed to the birth of Obama...

"The theory is almost too perfect to be true. Barack Obama, the son of politically progressive parents, was born Aug. 4, 1961—almost nine months to the day after John F. Kennedy was elected to the White House."

If this is true, be prepared for a new generation of Obama Baby Boomers...

symbol of a lie

There are actually a good number of lies the radical activists who choose to engage in personal homosexual behavior have been telling people for a while.

And I separate the activists from the average person minding their own business (but who still chooses to engage in the same behavior), because I think the difference between the two groups is notable.

I know a number of strongly decent individuals who have made the choice to engage in the behavior but who have REJECTED the rampant, animalistic, absurdity that we've seen in California since the election. But the goons and thugs on television news screens are just shameful.

They are also dishonest.

They preach "tolerance" for people who are different "than you." But they don't really desire that. Tolerance means that we can live on the same block and agree to disagree, but treat each other with respect. The animals at the protests in California are not capable of either agreeing to disagree, nor or they capable of treating those who are DIFFERENT than them with any modicum of respect.

But they are dishonest in other ways as well, especially in the messaging of what they are about. They continue to insist that they will not be given "equal rights" until they are allowed to "get married."

This is a patently gross lie on two counts.

1. They are as "equally" capable of getting married as every other person on the planet. Marriage is the sanctified sexual union of a man and a woman. If they chose to find a man (if they were a woman) or a woman (if they were a man) they would be free to enter into marriage with said individual. The law makes no distinction against them because they choose to enjoy sex with someone like themselves. They are still free to, permitted, and welcomed to marry. Remember: Marriage IS the sanctified union of a man and a woman.

2. The other part of their great lie is that they are being denied any sort of fundamental rights. First off marriage is not a right, it is a responsibility, and one that is limited by government for its own health. Although the sex radicals of our day would like there not to be limits on it, the U.S. does regulate it--mostly for the purpose of producing healthy offspring and thus further the existence of the nation by giving birth to the next generation. But aside from marriage not being a "right" they are still dishonest on being "DENIED" anything. They are with the power of any attorney and the will of two individuals enter into ANY contractual agreement their minds can produce. They can dictate hospital visitation, inheritance, living arrangements, financial responsibility, terms of the relationship, etc. They can even in such a contract get really funky and allow third or fourth party members to be added, dictate the rotation of who sleeps with who, who feeds dog, who does the cooking, and who pays the bills. In short - the construction of a contract is already allowable and is limited only by the "imagination" of the two parties involved.

This group went on a rampage in a church in Michigan on Sunday, interrupting the service, saying stupid things, and generally making a huge nuisance of themselves. The church members were kind and did not even press charges. Yet the hate-filled intolerance of the people who choose to engage in homosexuality that had infiltrated the service with the direct purpose of disrupting the proceedings were completely INTOLERANT of those who eventually showed them kindness in NOT exercising their rights to arrest and prosecute the trouble makers.

The Anti-Prop 8 haters across the nation are demonstrating the biggest LACK of tolerance they could possibly show. And the goons in Michigan that carried upside down pink crosses demonstrated that the Christians they chose to attack tolerate far more from the acidic portions of society than they demonstrate.

*note in the middle of the report how casually the reporter slips in that many nations "long ago" did away with any criminal penalties on such behavior.

**if the arguments that are being made in court across America right now are upheld to redefine marriage to include ANY "love" relationship out there... then Constitutionally they will be unable to draw a line between what is acceptable and what isn't...

[yes on prop 8.jpg]
But they make a point...

Just to show you how ridiculously out of touch the anti-8-h8ters are, to show you just how disconnected from reality all those "tolerant" people are who are shouting foul things at churches across tiny portions of Southern California, to show you just how much they don't get it...

The anti-8 hate groups that are now wanting to UNDO Constitutional law in their state and live under abject anarchy have put together a video that they believe is going to really drive the knife into the heart of all those people that voted in favor of Prop 8. They oh-so-cleverly took Prop 8 language and substituted "divorce" for "homosexuality" and then released the video. What they do not grasp is that the vast majority of those who voted in favor of Prop 8 DO believe that no-fault divorce has caused incredible detriment to children, families, and society.

And I for one would be just FINE with the idea, and would vote in favor of just such a resolution that they propose here.

Look even a stopped clock get's it right twice a day... and it appears the geniuses behind the Anti-8-Hate in California accidentally hit this one spot on... good for them!

Barack Obama
Change.DOH!!!

Little did we all realize when the Senator came riding in on his rainbow-excreting-unicorn from the magical, mysterious, and thug-packed police state of the South Side of Chicago that we would be treated to such an unmasking of who the President Elect is and what his REAL agenda was.

Already reversing his position to "insure American safety" he's inviting the Gitmo animals stateside, and in his ever famous outreach to the "pro-family" faithful who were gullible to believe the far most left Senator ever to be elected--he's also attempting to institute policies that will INCREASE abortion (he had sworn he wanted to decrease it in the campaign) and MULTIPLY the numbers afflicted with HIV/AIDS after giving very pretend concerned looks on his face in front of the Saddleback faithful three years running.

Evidently our little NO WE CAN'T!!! campaign here at MHR.com has reverberated in sort of a trickle up (the same fashion he believes economics works) manner, at least so much so that the Obama transition team has SCRUBBED Change.com of ALL campaign agenda promises.

Gone is their own copy of the checklist of what the Unicorn-Mounted-Messiah has promised, thus it will make it much more difficult for some to know whether he's keeping his word or not.

No problem though Faith and I will continue to document every violation of campaign pledges and every broken promise he is ALREADY going back on...

He won't get off that easy.

And just for comparison--whether you agreed with his policies or not--President Bush made these promises in his dual campaigns:

1. Reduce the tax burden on all Americans (thus he lowered the tax rate in ALL three tax brackets--low, middle, upper).
2. Nominate traditionalists to the U.S. Supreme Court (Roberts and Alito).
3. Hold the Public Education sector accountable for how they teach (No Child Left Behind - co-sponsored by Ted Kennedy).
4. To reduce abortions in America and under America's influence abroad (Mexico City reinstated, and abortions fell at home every year under his administration.)
5. To end the discrimination against faith-based organizations that are actually effective in the treatement and help for social, poverty, and recovery issues.
6. To empower the entrepeneurs in America to be able to create job growth (unemployment roughly 4% for the majority of his duration in office.)
7. To keep terrorists from obtaining the ability to attack the U.S. again after 9/11 (a promise that could only be kept in the second term, but one that was kept nonetheless.)
8. To attempt to correct the over-reach of activist judges in their blatant attempt to legislate from the judiciary and redefine marriage to whatever definition suited them, instead of allowing the people to define it. (Bush put forward the Constitutional Amendment to Protect Marriage twice... the Congress did not hold up their end of the issue, but Bush did exactly as he promised he would.)
9. He pledged to create drug benefit as a new availability through federal medicare/medicaid services (accomplished in first term.)
10. To mend Social Security by creating a two tier process by which current retirees were protected but future earners could plan for their own. (This was the major campaign promise he was not able to deliver on.)

Nine out of ten ain't bad. Add to that the focus necessary to keep terrorists on the run instead of allowing them to hijack regions, plot, plan, and attack again.

President Bush has been far from perfect, I've publicly disagreed with him on immigration, bail-outs, drug benefit, and never vetoing bills that had pork added to his agenda items. But on the whole you can not accuse him of not setting his plan, campaigning on his plan, and executing his plan.

Contrast that with Obama who has now taken to hiding his agenda to hope the world forgets what he promised, especially now that he seen easily that he will not be able to deliver on 35% of it - much less 90% as Bush did.

reduce AIDS and pregnancy?

No we can't!!! (An on-going series of broken promises from the President Elect to We The People.)

In this election cycle Barack Obama said he decidedly was in favor of reducing unwanted pregnancy and the AIDS numbers world wide.

So it would make sense of course wouldn't it that he would change policies that INSURE NO unwanted pregnancies, is 100% effective against pregnancy AND the transmission of STDs like AIDS, and in return put in place a policy that allows up to 15% of those who practice it to get the HIV virus, and an even higher rate of unwanted pregnancies.

No America, no we can't reduce these two unwanted blights on our health and conscience and though Obama said he would... his bait and switch will insure he doesn't!

Inmates headed to U.S. for "criminal" trials.

NO WE CAN'T keep America safe (and press our far left ideas about not being to hard on the people we took off battlefields who have pledged their entire lives in the effort to kill us...).

So... Obama is ALREADY making plans to ship Gitmo monsters to U.S. soil and to stand trial in U.S. Courts and the people of the U.S. be damned if classified information gets leaked, or these monsters use the U.S. prison system to recruit or network for future endeavors.

Fundamental Transformation = reinventing the entire justice system (putting our enemies first evidently.)

Deborah Howell recently gave a mountain of evidence of The Washington Post's incessant pro-Obama news coverage. Some examples?
  • "The op-ed page ran far more laudatory opinion pieces on Obama, 32, than on Sen. John McCain, 13."
  • "Stories and photos about Obama in the news pages outnumbered those devoted to McCain. "
  • "66 percent of the campaign stories were about Obama compared with 53 percent for McCain; some stories featured both. The project also calculated that in that time, 57 percent of the stories were about the horse race and 13 percent were about issues. "
  • "There were far more negative pieces about McCain, 58, than there were about Obama, 32, and Obama got the editorial board's endorsement."
  • "One gaping hole in coverage involved Joe Biden, Obama's running mate. When Gov. Sarah Palin was nominated for vice president, reporters were booking the next flight to Alaska."

How do you look at all these examples and still say, in good conscience, that The Post still had "lot of good campaign coverage" or brush the bias off as a result of Obama being new, exciting, or historic? This is not news reporting....this is narrative...and painted a world for readers based on journalists' dreams not reality

1. Is the Race Issue Now DEAD in America?:

http://hotlineblog.nationaljournal.com/buar01_obama.jpg

In Hour One... We've elected our nation's first mixed race President, who happens to self-identify as an African American. Does this mean America has finally moved past race? Are the "civil rights leaders" of by gone eras - out of work? Your thoughts on what the election of Barack Obama means in relationship to race and America's future. 2. ON THE SET w/ SGT Mansfield:

Stephen spent all week working on his new movie. He will give us the behind the scenes snapshots of Sgt Mansfield - Vietnam Vet. The name of the movie is "To The Wall" and looks like it will strike chords of patriotism, truth, and idealistic principles on many levels. One interesting discussion that can be spun is whether or not "war heroes" should be something that we look up to. Certainly it was not the choice of the American people in the most recent election. Agree/Disagree - and if you disagree you get to go to the front of the line... 800.345.9622.

On election night, Obama raved about the enormous voter turnout and all the citizens who came out for the first time to make their voices heard...apparently the truth isn't quite that exciting. Despite 10 million newly registered voters (I guess that's what happens when you register 2nd graders and the homeless...) voter turnout on Tuesday was exactly the same as in 2004.

So, congratulations ACORN on working as hard as you could to pay people cigarrettes to register to vote but in the end there was no change, no increased voter turnout...just the same old, same old.
