Starbucks thinks your vote is worth a cup of coffee. A Facebook advertisment announced:
What if we all cared enough to vote?
Not just 54% of us, but 100% of us?
What if we cared as much on Nov. 5th as we care on Nov. 4th?
What if we cared all of the time the way we care some of the time?
What if we cared when it was inconvenient as much as we care when it’s convenient?
Would your community be a better place?
Would our country be a better place?
Would our world be a better place?
We think so, too.
Celebrate the election today by coming into any Starbucks and we’ll proudly give you a tall cup of brewed coffee. On us.
You and Starbucks. It’s bigger than coffee.

 Side by side... Dueling Tax Plans: TYPE Current McCain Obama Capital Gains 15% 15% 20% Dividends 15% 15% 20% Income/Payroll (High) 35% 35% 43-45% Estate Tax 45% 15% 45% Corporate Tax 35% 25% 35% (...from CNN this morning.)
Why does any of it matter?
Notice Obama raises Capital Gains 5%? THAT is a tax increase he says you're not going to have to pay... unless you cash in a bond, sell a house, start using you're 401k, begin retirement, liquify an asset because you need the cash. Now 5% more of it is going to HIM. For THE ONE to determine how it should be used.
How 'bout those Obamian increases in Income/Payroll taxes? I was publicly disputed with on television the other day in relationship to the percentage rate where I used the 45% figure - though the Obama camp has secretly been using that number for weeks in their projections. So depending on WHO is telling the truth you will now be paying 43-45% if you make above 70k, 120k, 150k, 200k, or 250k. (And you do realize that 45% of 70k - essentially takes your net usuable take home--JUST FROM TAXES--down to 35k for the year.) Feel rich?
How about the Estate Tax that punished your loved ones if you wish to leave them the family farm, shoe shop, dry cleaners, diner, etc? McCain's plan would require you to pay only 15% of your after death taxes, Obama wants to suck the marrow clean at 45%. Gluttony is a sin! But this is a sin that hurts your family for YEARS to come.

Pre-Election HotAir - 3pm EST Ed Morrissey will tee it up, and I will attempt to knock it stiff. The Election less than 18 hours away from polls opening, Ed and I will likely hit all the good stuff to hit in the last 48 hours... like: Obama's illegal Auntie that was asked to cough up $260 for his campaign - when she was living in the public housing projects. McCain's poll numbers tighten. And historic levels of undecideds still plague the pollsters. And much much more...

Day before Election - STRATEGY ROOM The Lovely Bride and I had the pleasure of getting to meet Heather when we both recently dined at the "River Cafe" in Brooklyn. Heather co-hosted the 5pm hour with my buddy John Gibson for a run, just before John stepped out of the television limelight all together. (John still hosts his EXTREMELY successful--and funny--talk radio show for FoxNewsRadio. It is carried locally on "the TALK of New York AM 970 - The Apple" at midnight Monday-Fridays.) This is my third visit to the Strategy Room but my first time with Heather - so why don't you dial us up and watch on line -- have lunch with us!You can e-mail your comments on what we talk about LIVE during the show at strategyroom@foxnews.com

Bankruptcy and Unemployment Many of those who heard this story over the weekend probably have a hard time believing it and yet it is as vital in its importance as any of the rest of the promises that Barack Obama has pledged in his term. He wants to put such burdens upon the coal industry in America that it is forced to declare bankruptcy. Of course he would be against "clean coal technology" right? After all it is key to ANY plan that seeks to unlock our dependence from middle eastern energy supplies. He's also against nuclear energy. He says in the stupid audio from the source that he supports more bio-diesel options. Which further shows how out of touch he might be. Bio-diesel, and fuels drawn from living sources like corn and grass - are largely blamed for the famine that hit Africa and other parts of the world this year. So many set asides for fuel needs were labeled off limits that children in Africa actually DID die from starvation this year. Several international studies noted this. So let me understand this properly. Obama does not want us to drill our own oil - that would free us from middle eastern oil... Obama does not want us using nuclear energy which would eliminate many problems in the energy crisis and provide more energy to more people at the lowest cost possible... Obama does not want us using clean coal technology which is environmentally harmless. And in fact he wants to bankrupt the coal industry (and I suppose lay off all of the men who earn their living in the coal mines... and thus punish all the families in state's like West Virginia, Kentucky... not to mention all the jobs that are waiting for people in Colorado, Nevada, Montana, Idaho, etc...) And he DOES... Obama does want to use Bio-diesel which has been proven very inefficient and even dangerous to some of the least well off children on the planet... Now Jedi-Obama begins waving his hand in front of the television cameras again telling us we did not hear him say - what he heard him say

I feel truly nauseous when watching the media elite spend time with their darling Obama. In his most recent interview with "The One", NBC's Brian Williams acted like he's catching up with an old friend. Williams: I want to ask you about -- it's a press-related question. This picture was so striking to me. And according to the press pool traveling with you, you asked to just take a walk and be alone. You're visiting your grandmother. What may, by all accounts be the last time you see her. How do you react to this, I guess it's part of the contract you make when you run in such an extended campaign, but, the human in you, and the husband and father and grandson must want to just bust out sometimes, or disappear, if you can't go for a walk like that? For additional empathy Williams added "You can't walk into an Arby's on the interstate?" Did Williams not think it relevant to ask Obama what he has done since he was came to the US Senate in January 2005 that proves he is ready to be the president?

Rep. John Boehner didn't mince words when he described his views on Obama's record of merely voting "present": "Now, listen, I've voted 'present' two or three times in my entire 25-year political career, where there might have been a conflict of interest and I didn't feel like I should vote," Boehner said. "In Congress, we have a red button, a green button and a yellow button, alright. Green means 'yes,' red means 'no,' and yellow means you're a chicken shit. And the last thing we need in the White House, in the oval office, behind that big desk, is some chicken who wants to push this yellow button."Does voting present sound like presidential behavior to you? Maybe Obama just wanted to save his votes for more important legislation to help him earn the title of "Most Liberal Senator." Maybe Obama just wanted to save his votes for more important legislation to help him earn the title of "Most Liberal Senator."

I was hungry and you did not feed me... Barack Obama has made millions in recent years. In fact to be precise its more like something along the lines of - $3.75 million since 2000: Only after he decided he would run for federal office did he begin giving more than 1% of his total wealth to those in need. What's more astounding as has been reported by many is that while his brother pictured above living in a slum in Kenya currently is trying to survive on a dollar a week, is that Barack Obama never thought to send him so much as a Christmas card with a $100 in cash that would have essentially tripled his earnings for the year. He never held a bake sell, never sold candy bars, never cleaned out his garage and sold his junk at the flea market to try to help him. Earlier this year Ramesh Ponnuru and Mike Gallagher raised over $2000 for Obama's poverty stricken little brother. Then came the story this week that Obama's Aunt - who Obama WROTE ABOUT in one of his multi-million copy selling biographies lives in the public housing slums of Boston. Again in grief stricken poverty--though she has it considerably better than his brother--he couldn't find a way to help her? Well now we learn there might have been a reason why. Obama's Auntie is here as an illegal immigrant. Hiring practices getting tighter, security getting more serious and all THE ONE was probably advising her to just lay low. Which is even understandable if you really care about her. (Of course if you really cared about her and you've got a huge roomy brownstone that Tony Rezko hooked you up with--now with ten percent more space than when you bought it--why wouldn't you bring her to live with you?) But it doesn't stop there... Obama's campaign finance records now show that his impoverished Aunt, living illegally in the slums of Boston, the one he made a buck off of writing her up in his book, but now has a tough time just getting by-- was encouraged to donate $260 to THE ONE 4 PREZ campaign. That's a full ten percent of the maximum gift that can be given. Barack Obama, the "church going Christian", has never given 10% to God much less a neighbor, fellow citizen, or even quite literally a brother/or Auntie in need. ...word!

Carey Arnholdt may not have had the career that Heidi Klum has but something is in that swimsuit model drinking water cause they seem to resonate with a similar theme. Yesterday we reported Heidi's threat to leave if Obama loses, today my friend from college days, Carey, sent me the following missive. Don't know if she means it or not. But given all the advantages she outlines one could hardly argue with her "logic:" Dear Red States,
We've decided we're leaving. We intend to form our own country, and we're taking the other Blue States with us. In case you aren't aware, that includes Hawaii , California , Oregon , Washington , Minnesota , Wisconsin , Michigan , Illinois , New York , and all of the Northeastern states. After this election, we'll be adding Colorado and New Mexico . We believe this split will be beneficial to the nation, especially to the people of our new country - Nuevo California .
To sum up briefly: You get Texas , Oklahoma and all the slave states; we get stem cell research, the best beaches, and the best ski resorts. We get the Statue of Liberty; you get Dollywood. We get Intel and Microsoft; you get WorldCom. We get Stanford, Harvard, Princeton, Yale , Cal Tech, MIT and Columbia ; you get Ole' Miss. We get 85 percent of America 's venture capital and entrepreneurs; you get Alabama. We get two-thirds of the tax revenue; you get to make the red states pay their fair share.
Since our aggregate divorce rate is 22 percent lower than that of the Christian Coalition, we get a bunch of happy families and you get a bunch of under-educated single moms.
Please be aware that Nuevo California will be pro-choice and anti-war, and we'll need all of our citizens back from Iraq at once. If you need people to fight, ask your evangelicals. They apparently have kids they're willing to send to their deaths for no purpose, and they don't mind if you don't televise their kid's caskets coming home. We do wish you success in Iraq and hope that those Weapons of Mass Destruction turn up for you, but we're not willing to spend any more of our money in Bush's Quagmire.
With the Blue States, we will control 80 percent of the country's fresh water, 90 percent of pineapple and lettuce, 92 percent of the nation's fresh fruit, 97 percent of America 's quality wines (you can serve French wines at your state dinners), 90 percent of all cheese, 90 percent of the high tech industry, most of the U.S. low-sulfur coal, all living redwoods, sequoias and condors, and all the Ivy League and Seven Sister schools. We also get New England , the Great Lakes and Yosemite , thank you very much.
In the Red States, you will have to cope with 88 percent of all obese Americans and their projected health care costs, 92 percent of all U.S. mosquitoes, 100 percent of tornadoes, 94 percent of hurricanes, 99 percent of Southern Baptists, virtually 100 percent of all televangelists, Rush Limbaugh, Bob Jones University , and Clemson. .
Additionally, in the Red States, 38 percent actually believe Jonah was swallowed by a whale; 62 percent believe life is sacred unless it involves the death penalty or gun ownership; 44 percent claim that evolution is only a theory; 53 percent insist that Saddam Hussein was involved in 9/11; and 61 percent of you crazy bastards believe you have higher moral standards than those of us on the left.
By the way, we're taking all the good pot, too. You get that dirt weed from Mexico and Kansas ditches.
Peace out, The Blue States
Carey, my friend, if you do read this... You just have to understand those of us who love all of America see just how elitist liberals already viewed themselves. Your decidedly arrogant missive confirms it. Liberals are snobs and the rest of us can just suck it. We get it... Obama is the Messiah... We're not as smart as you...
