Fighting Back!

I am not always a big fan of people suing for every little thing under the sun. But when you've been slandered, libeled, been treated horribly in public by your employer, fired for what was said to be the refusal to carry out your duties... when you fulfilled every single one of them, I'm not so much against it.

Carrie Prejean is suing for all of the maltreatment she was harassed with following the answer of one simple question in the Miss USA pageant.

I'm glad she is, I hate to see people being punished for simply answering a question honestly.

The religious bigots of America are patently un-American, Perez Hilton being chief among them. So it behooves the religious bigots running Miss USA California to remember that, and I'm guessing their about to receive a legal bill that might serve them this valuable reminder.

We're into day 4 of the sixteen day trip across the continent, and Amy at Parcbench is having lots of fun, and shining the light on some of the key moments thus far of the TeaPartyExpress' progress.

As you know they arrive in DC on 9.12 at the March on Washington. Stephen and I will be speaking in the 1pm hour keynoting the afternoon.

You need to make plans to join us if you haven't already. This collection of Democrats, Republicans, and Independents will be the largest gathering of anti-tax forces in American history.

And that's a GREAT thing...

It will be hard for the administration to ignore such a collection of average citizens and everyday people. Small business owners and others who produce the jobs in our nation will be speaking up and speaking out.

We need you to join the Express and be there with us on 9.12.

Hmmm...

Brand new polling numbers from Rasmussen (the most accurate pollster in the business.)

Only 30% of the American people now strongly APPROVE of President Obama's policies and job performance. 41% strongly DISAPPROVE. Passion index -11%.

Only 29% of the American people now confident Congress knows what it's doing. 57% would like to see the entire group thrown out and start over again. Passion index -28%.

Simple approval of President Obama has now reached it's low point: 46%.

Another important number, "Independents" now disapprove of Obama's job performance by 66%.

On top of that the Goracle has switched hats from predicting that global warming will kill us all (when we've actually been cooling for the past eleven years), to now saying that it is a moral imperative to spend $4 billion a year to give health care to everybody, when we already do that at the cost of $2.5 billion...

So it would be the perfect time to go ultra-partisan and tell the rest of the nation to eat it... right?

To text or to live...

Everyone wants their children to be safe behind the wheel. Texting has become the latest rage and danger. In Great Britain they've released this 4 minute video to help teens get the message. It is probably the most graphic warning video ever made. Stephen Baldwin thinks it's unwise and even wrong to use graphic violence to stop this kind of behavior. Even one of the comments on this page questions whether teens who go see the "Saw" movies would have one ounce less hesitation because of it...

PLUS: Live from the road our correspondent from the Tea Party Express will check in with us. Amy Schroeder of Parcbench.com (our new partners) will give us an update on the 9.12 project that is in the making. A project that Stephen and I will be in attendance at in Washington DC, as we keynote the afternoon. Make plans to join us...

to remember or to live in plain fantasy...

Within 24 hours of Ted Kennedy's passing, people from one side of the debate on Health Care in Washington were already invoking him for political reasons to further their side of the argument. On the day of his death Kevin McCullough opined that the cannonization would likely be quite imbalanced. And if one chooses to invoke Kennedy for political gain, as liberals did immediately then it is Kevin's belief it is equally proper to then balance the historical sense of who he is as well. Especially if THIS turns out to be true! Even George Stephanopolous and Gov. Mike Huckabee got into the act.

Classics

Because of the Lovely Bride's not feeling well I volunteered to cook tonight. Many of you will not even know that I have quite the culinary skills because I can't remember really talking about them on this blog... ever. But I do... and I LOVE to cook.

So I ask her what she would like.

"Something simple, like tomato soup and grilled cheese."

Great idea on a rainy, outer-hurricane peripheral kind of weather night. But I wanted something just a tad bit sexier so the following was my compromise.

And once you taste it - I don't think you'll run back quite so quickly to the plain bread and yellow cheddar slices.

THE ULTIMATE GRILLED 3 CHEESE SANDWICH
Ingredients:
4-5 slices of tablespoon width, unsalted butter
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Salt
Pepper
2 Roma Tomatoes
1 Serano Chili Pepper
Plenty of Jarlsberg, Provolone, and Vermont or Wisconsin Cheddar (mild) on hand
Fresh Sourdough Boule

First prepare your tomato soup. Concentrate, box-based or if you have the time, from scratch. For tonight's dinner the Lovely Bride literally told me to get the "canned Campbell's, with all the bad-for-you stuff in it." Mix with equal parts water over lowest heat, season with only salt, stir.

Now to the featured item:
If you are able have your cheese sliced at the deli counter, thus saving you time later. The thinner the slices, the better the melting and mixing will go once on the sandwich.

Take sourdough boule and slice roughly one third from the end of the most symmetrical side. Rotate sliced portion and slice for sandwich use. You will have a variety of very small sandwich pieces to medium at the very peak.

On stove, place griddle or frying pan over low heat and drizzle in very small amount of Olive Oil. Lift pan and rotate to help warming oil spread evenly across the pan. Add one chunk, slice, tablespoon's worth of unsalted butter. (I know its generally against good culinary etiquette to mix your fats, but homies, do what I suggest first then if you hate, never listen to me again. But if you love it... just consider it a secret only to be used for grilled cheese.) Allow the butter to liquify but not to brown.

On the cutting board take one pair of the sandwich pieces of sourdough, brush extra virgin olive oil on the frying sides of the two pieces. As the pieces sit open on the cutting board layer the Jarlsberg, Cheddar, and Provolone in that order, but not in heavy abundance. Take sliced Roma tomatoes and add to middle of sandwich. Remove stem and seeds from Serrano peppers. Dice finely and place no more than a 1/4th of a teaspoon finely diced atop the tomato. Close sandwich and place in heated butter/skillet on low heat.

It will take 4-7 minutes for it to brown crisp if left on low heat. Toast to your desired "burntness" and flip.

Bowl the soup, plate the completed sandwich and serve.

The serrano and tomato will add a blast of brightness, and chase with a little bit of heat and zing. The blending of the three cheeses, the toasting of the sourdough in the double fat fry, will provide warmth, comfort, and goodness.

It will be what you wished it had been the whole time you were growing up eating it as kids. The only difference now being, you can have it any time the mood strikes.

Enjoy!

Xtreme Xclusive

You may recall that I mentioned last week a new partnership that has not yet been officially announced, but that is already up and operating. Xtreme Media and Parcbench.com are in the process of joining forces to contribute and provide content, revenue, and market share to one another's operations.

The official statement from both companies is due any day now and Stephen Baldwin and myself are thrilled at the prospect of working with Kellen Guida, Amy Schroeder, and the other talented crew at Parcbench.

I also just wanted to let you know that over the course of the next two weeks Amy Schroeder will be one of only six embedded journalists on the Tea Party Express. The next 14 days this bus will criss-cross the heartland from Sacramento and arriving in Washington DC on 9.11.09. The Tea Party Express and crew will be participating in the largest Tea Party held to date in America on 9.12.09.

Stephen Baldwin and Kevin McCullough have been tapped as keynote speakers at 1pm at the March on Washington. We look forward to welcoming the "Express" as she pulls into port in the nation's capital.

For the next two weeks, every single day, I would like you to come back here and check for the newest report, video, or post on the "Express'" progress. You will also see and hear reports on the other media listed above.

Fundamentally I believe in taking back our nation from those who believe they rule over us.

They do not.

They work for me... and you...

And it's time they remembered... Thusly we shall remind them on 9.12.09, and I hope to see you there!

But the point is...

I don't know what Harris' "Hot Talkers" are this morning but if my last several appearances are indicative it appears we will be joining Dr. Lamont Hill and chatting up the administration's fight over health care, cash for clunkers, maybe even the passing of Senator Kennedy... who knows?

I felt a little sorry for Dr. Hill last week. He was severely under-the-weather, and the poor guy was not up to his normal energy level.

But with Dr. Hill and I, you always know its going to be entertaining so join us at 9am EST today. You must click here to do so!

Harris also always invites your e-mail for comments during the show. It is always fun, and will be even more so if you are part of the conversation.

5 fwy in So Cal

Filling in for Frank Pastore on KKLA in Los Angeles is a blast, and I'm always grateful to spend the time in LA with people using their minds to think through the issues of the day, from a common sense view point.

It's notes like this though that put the cherry on the sundae:
Just want to thank you Sir. For making my job more enjoyable while driving the 5 frwy. "The Santa Ana Frwy." All this week, since Frank's been gone. I'm a Freeway Service Patrol, Tow truck operator, driving in circles all day. I, really appreciate, and admire your Biblical rooted in truth, stance on liberal issues. You keep me awake on the 5 frwy. Always look forward to you filling in for Mr. Pastore. May God continue to bless the work you've been doing! I'm just a simple nobody, who drives a tow truck for a living, but let me tell you? You're are a friend to me, as well as many others who have the priviledge to hear you on the road. Well, anyhow? Thanks! Lou, Los Angeles County, FSP. Beat 16.

No Lou... Thank you! It's an honor and a pleasure!

So let's have some fun on the air in Los Angeles today/tonight... whad'ya say? I've prepared some pretty intriguing topics and would like your input for 3.5 hours tonight

Which is why I want you listening to KKLA Los Angeles from 3:30-7p for the final night tonight...

On today's/tonight's big show:

The passing of Edward Kennedy... A look at his legacy, a look at his family, a look at who he was... and why we should or should not cannonize him as has already started in Washington DC.

Plus... The United Nations needs to be bull-dozed. Here's the latest proof of why... Townhall.com blogger Faith Ammen joins us to fill us in on the details.

From the personal perspective... I'd like to share an e-mail from yesterday's show and the fall-out from it. And it plays into a topic we didn't get to yesterday... "Does California deserve to blame its entitlement atmosphere for the problems it seems to create?"

Plus will Los Angeles FINALLY have the kind of help on its way for the public schools that it has needed all along... competition from Charter Schools?

CALL THE SHOW - 888.995.KKLA

Now I would LOVE to have you listening in Los Angeles on 99.5 FM. Or online at www.KKLA.com. But if you'd like to join my live chat and video feed just check it out below:

There are many things in this life that are universal: Sunsets are beautiful in literally every country you visit...Chocolate, cheese, and homemade bread are delectable staples that are universally tasty. But some things are not appropriate for all people of all ages. One of those things is to teach five year olds about sex if you are not their parent. Unfortunately, the U.N. would not agree.

"The United Nations is recommending that children as young as five receive mandatory sexual education that would teach even pre-kindergarteners about masturbation and topics like gender violence."

This curriculum is not just for high schoolers. It is a sweeping "universal lesson plan" for 5-18 year olds. Masturbation is described and defined in the lessons for the youngest children.

According to the report's description of the curriculum: "By the time they're 9 years old, they'll learn about "positive and negative effects of 'aphrodisiacs," and wrestle with the ideas of "homophobia, transphobia and abuse of power." At 12, they'll learn the "reasons for" abortions — but they'll already have known about their safety for three years. When they're 15, they'll be exposed to direct "advocacy to promote the right to and access to safe abortion." "

This is not age-appropriate. This is not necessary. This is not the kind of education that saves children from being infected by sexually transmitted diseases. This information is confusing to such a young audience (especially when discussed in a public setting like a classroom and not in the privacy and personal atmosphere of one's home), is biased in it's discussion of sexual orientation, and is not a topic that should be predetermined by a body like the U.N.

Lion sleeps tonight...

There were fewer politicians over a longer period of time I have had less respect for than Edward Kennedy. I never grasped the fascination that the people of Massachusetts held for him. I never grasped the status he was given and the acclaim people felt he was due.

And while I respectfully express my condolences for the family members who will spend the next weeks mourning their loss, I can't help but ask the question, "What was the significance of his life?"

Hopefully his wife and children will tell us about a husband and father that defied the public image, but that public image--in my mind is bad... horrible even.

Many will refer to the "end of Camelot" as he is the final person named Kennedy to be serving in high federal office. But in reality Kennedy was an embarrassment to the most famous Kennedy, the same to his party, the same to his nation, and the same to his family.

His "youthful indiscretion" ended up with a woman dead at the bottom of a river, while he walked away, and everyone related to the case--with pockets lined--so as to keep their mouths shut.

Against better judgment he ran for President against a very weak incumbent and by necessity of his entry into the primary (and near victory), he made an already horrible Jimmy Carter appear even weaker, and thus Reagan cruised to victory.

He has consistently--in keeping with the tradition of his father--sided against America in many of the greatest conflicts she has faced. He like his fellow Massachusetts Senate colleague has consistently besmirched the motives, purpose, and operations of the American soldier.

And on public policy he could not have stood in more stark contrast to his brother John F. Kennedy.

It is indeed a sad day for the Kennedy clan. A beloved patriarch is gone. But for the nation, Kennedy's legacy is not even a mixed bag. It was an embarrassment, and I trust and hope that we are given a proper chance to recover from his impact in the days to come.

On today's/tonight's big show:

President Obama pledged in coming to office that unemployment would never drop below 8% on his watch. Now unemployment is projected to be near 10% for the next two years minimum. The deficit is also now projected to be somewhere in the neighborhood of 9,000,000,000,000 that's 2,000,000,000,000 more than had been projected. Given this, do you really think it's time to pony up for a universal health care plan?

PLUS MY BRAND NEW-HOT OFF THE PRESS PIECE FOR FOX NEWS: Why is Obama dissing doctors?

Plus some additional, shall we say "myths" about psychology...

Also... do electronic multi-taskers have a hard time following through on things they are supposed to accomplish? Paying attention, staying focused? ...uh... ...sorry--what was I saying?

Does California deserve to blame its entitlement atmosphere for the problems it seems to create?

PLUS why I support Barack Obama 100%, but it seems to have backfired because people seem to think that he can't be a good father if he doesn't have the right policies. Do you think so?

Which is why I want you listening to KKLA Los Angeles from 3:30-6p for the next three nights.

On tonight's big show:

Why are veterans being counseled to consider offing themselves?

Plus some new, shall we say "myths" about psychology...

Modern feminists are still the bane of my existence...

Some long time expressions, even Biblical ones, are now being judged as racist in London...

I have been critical of President Obama on nearly every piece of legislative and executive agenda item he has put forward in the past eight months. In fact to be honest, except of leaving Petraeus and Gates at the department of Defense, I can't really think of anything I agreed with.

However, I've always given the President massive kudos on keeping his family life intact and seemingly in its proper perspective.

It is obvious to any who observe that President Obama loves his bride and his baby girls. He should. That's the role that is to be played by men today.

They are to be supportive, they are to provide, they are to protect.

And they are to do so for much greater reasons than even what is seen on the surface.

If men choose to abandon their needed place in families, they become stunted versions of themselves, but more importantly they prevent the security--both emotional and physical--from being experienced by those who most depend on them.

Men have an obligation to love their wives. But if they serve their families not out of obligation, but rather a place of inner joy, they bring fulfillment into the path of everyone in that family.

Father's are pack-leaders. They are important. They are the first line of defense when horrific things come at those they've pledged their undying devotion to.

The fact that President Obama had such poor father figures in his life make his demonstration of commitment to being this kind of father to his own children, all the more remarkable, and laudatory.

President Obama is on vacation this week with his family. He has made the same request that President and Mrs. Bush made of the media, to leave his daughters alone. Every dedicated father deserves the respect of having that wish granted.

And by the way Dads it's NEVER too late to start amending your past shortcomings and making the steps towards being the same kind of Dad you've wished you were.

In fact... Here are 12 SIMPLE steps to being able to do it, and no matter your party affiliation, this world WILL be a better place when we take them!

I'm sluttier than you!

Aubrey O'Day a former member of an alleged music group called Danity Kane who already takes such esteem in her own personal ability to achieve that she had given every perve in America the opportunity to slobber over photos of her private parts has now come out criticizing Heidi Montag for not getting more explicit when she posed for the chief exploiter of women earlier this year.

"I'd say … to just take that risk, really do something kind of … maybe do something she's a little scared to do, so she overcomes a fear and feels really proud. You know, you can take a million pretty pictures, every celebrity girl has taken a million pretty pictures, but it's like: Which pictures are really going to stand out and be iconic, and which pictures are just pretty pictures that are here today, gone tomorrow?" said O'day.

Evidently O'Day only equates "something a pretty girl can truly be proud of" to not just taking one's clothes off, but by shoving the camera as close as possible to things that God never intended for the masses to gaze upon.

So this is the new definition of pretty? Feminine? Pride?

I think it's nauseating that as a newlywed Heidi was talked into taking off her clothes for money. I think it's even more disgraceful that Spencer Pratt--her husband encouraged her to do it, and then carried the magazine all around his hood for weeks on end, playing show and tell with the media.

Yet those seem like minor offenses now compared to the message that O'Day thinks should be the prominent view for women to judge themselves by.

And I would hope that prominent "womyn's rights" groups would feel equally as strong... yes?

<...chirping crickets...>
