1. Some significant scandals are emerging in the U.S. Senate races for 2010. In Connecticut a man who outright lied about his service in Vietnam, is now being invoked by V.P. Joe Biden when he "Blumenthalled" in a joke yesterday. And in Pennsylvania a new name is being verbed. 1. Dateline Washington DC, yesterday... President Obama agrees to discuss ideas with GOP lawmakers on their concerns about national security. One suggestion of which was to send additional troops to the border. Planning an end around Obama has already decided to send 1200 troops to the Arizona border. Doesn't bring it up in the meeting. But wait, doesn't sending troops to the Arizona border indicate that Arizona needed immigration help to begin with? 2. THE PRACTICAL DILEMMA: Teenage minor girl, takes off top, clothes, and undergarments. Snaps pictures on personal cell phone camera. Takes camera to class where rules are, if discovered, cell phone will be confiscated. School also has major problem with "sexting." Officials penalize girl for sexting. The administration is backing a compromise, proposed to the enactment of repeal of "Don't Ask Don't Tell" on the basis that it will not be implemented until a military study is completed on the matter. 1. Today at West Point President Obama proclaimed, "America has not succeeded by stepping outside the currents of international cooperation," he said. "We have succeeded by steering those currents in the direction of liberty and justice -- so nations thrive by meeting their responsibilities, and face consequences when they don't." And follow the logic here: At the tax-payer's expense, students who attend college and high school are complaining that the local government ISN'T providing THEM with high-enough-quality condoms. The mentality is, "why not get the kids what they want?" I mean government should be giving away the condoms to students (some of whom are minors) to begin with... right? 1. The President, in a state visit from the Mexican head of state makes the claim that "We are not defined by our borders." Yet aren't nation's defined by borders, language, and law? It would seem to me that without a border one nation sort of blends into another one. Given the out of control border violence on the U.S. southern border, it seems irresponsible to continue to encourage Mexico to push its criminals into our borders. Then late this week he admits he hasn't read the bill. He has threatened legal action against what most experts are now describing as a "constitutionally sound" piece of legislation. A young girl who worked as a stripper in a neighboring town, and had told her mom that she wanted to become a "Coyote" and learn to smuggle people into the country, is someone most people would feel had significant problems in her life right? But if so, then explain to me how she ends up being prom queen, beloved fellow student, and aspiring graduate. 1. The State Attorney General for New York has just made it easier for men who wish to dress as women to be able to work for at least one retailer. American Eagle Outfitters had previously held "dress standards" that disallowed men from dressing as women. Now they will be forced to allow employees to dress however they choose. 1.Michelle Obama wants to tell you what to eat, how much of it too eat, and when you can no longer have any more to eat.
