Edwards
"Everybody does it... means what is, is...
private is separate from professional... &
'YES I'M THE SCHLEP shtupping the girlfriend

while my wife is desperately sick with cancer!'"

Classy!

UPDATE: Is this Elizabeth's chance to take him to cleaners for all his "slip and fall" riches? Enquiring minds want to know...

UPDATE:

I think Edwards is spinning again. The above video is Bob Scheiffer from CBS News and ran on their prime time broadcast last night. It is a nearly word for word explanation has explained by Jeff Greenfield over on ABC News. Both men are reporting that Edwards had the "liason" in 2006 - and claim it was prior to his campaign for President. (As if anyone doesn't believe that he simply continued to run following his defeat in 2004.)

But this is where it doesn't make any sense. Scheiffer got on the phone with Elizabeth personally. When Bob had asked Edwards how Elizabeth had handled it he responded, "she's amazing!" When Scheiffer gets Mrs. Edwards on, "she's in tears" and it was "this is really, really, tough."

Now if Edwards had confessed it 2006 and she had forgiven him, why would she just now be in tears (two years later), and why would today be so tough? If the reality that her husband had cheated on you two years ago had been long since dealt with - why so hard now?

I mean the only thing that has changed is that he is no longer running for President, and supposedly the public now knew your flaw... so why would that have Elizabeth in tears - today? Two years ago I get... Not now...

I have this hunch that someone is not telling the truth, and has likely now asked his cancer suffering wife - who has already taken far too much malarky from this guy to begin with - to stand with him in this false "softening" of the story...

I know there is a double standard
between the GOP and the Dems (ask Larry Craig on the attention he got). I am definitely no fan of John Edwards.

But I am an inquiring mind that really doesn't care to know.

Would John Edwards cheating on his dying wife be a less than honorable thing? Yes. Do I really need to see it plastered all over my news paper or in blogs every day? No. John Edwards is not running for president, will not be Barack Obama (or Hillary's) Veep, and is out of public office. If circumstances change, go ahead and do the public dissection of his life, but at this point I would rather us (the public) not be involved.

Very thoughtful response Joe...
But I do comment on the issue of marriage and fidelity within marriage as being critical building block for our culture, therefore I get very passionate about the subject matter.

And tonight my prayers are for Elizabeth. After my mother suffered with cancer (which eventually claimed her life) I can only imagine what the pain of this does...

terribly sad..
This is terribly sad news..

Not that we would ever have voted for John Edwards anyway..

But his poor, poor Wife!

It often seems to be a sad side note to scandals such as this, that there is a devoted mate seeing such sideshows, at home-
watching virtual nobodies, who step in as royal home wreckers, lifted to fame-and sometimes fortune-on the tails of such sad and sordid things..

Tragic enough what this poor woman must have to go through with her health! But to be abandoned in her very time of need..

Well, it is the worst news doubled..
Worst kind of news at all..Times two..

Who CARES about some sad middle-aged man looking for ego strokes, and some clingy hanger-on looking to make good?..

The other sad thing, adulteress will probably want to sell her "memoirs"..

Encased in wax at the home-wreckers museum..

Sad all around..There are other ways to deal with pain..legitimately..

Dead consciences posing as sex-drives..

Pity..

oh yea..
oh yea..

I just thought..

These are the kind of folks/antics that keep kids like Paris Hilton in business..

As if adultery isn't next to "thou shalt not kill" in the 10 Commandments for a reason..

Ok, wait, they don't really value those ten, do they? I guess, for some, it's, what's their trendy thing now? 10 Suggestions?..10 Really Good Ideas..10 Concepts..

ok, ok..

I won't judge them..

They judge themselves :^(

bill clinton
They probably had to let Bill speak in the prime slot to keep the Clintons from causing a ruckus at the Convention.

KMC--I find this lie more troubling
I do not make light of a man breaking his marriage vows. I agree with what you have said--I just find it sad to hear and would prefer not to hear it.

I find this behavior, however, even more reprehensible, since it is calculated and craven (as opposed to a moment of human weakness): http://andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/the_daily_dish/2008/ 08/the-lies-of-joh.html#more

As bad as I believe Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton to be, we all dodged a bullit with Edwards.

*eyes roll*
Yes, it's bad..

It's sad..

But, I wish he'd stop saying "SHTUPDATE"..

*rolls eyes*

Is he going to use that phrase for ever when it comes to this topic?

ugh..

Sounds so coarse..

And yes, it IS a coarse, awful, terrible story and all..

But can't he use new words?

be careful little eyes, little mouth..to
Even for myself, and my previous post above..

As Christians, we need to make VERY clear that we are DiFFerent from the world..

Because they are SO sinsick and SO blind they don't even know their need..

And it is SUCH a dark time in the world

It is SO steeped in darkness and wickedness..

Even for myself here, I must watch not to make coarse jokes too..

And pray for these Christian people at their jobs, on the radio, help them be and stay HOLY, because, other than speaking the Truth in love, this is what distinguishes us from others..

Our holiness, and not giving even an appearance of evil is a guard to us..

Just look at the story of Samson

His strength was his holiness
