Carping about how much money presidential races have sucked out of his state, Governor Jon Corzine has decided to make the primary race in 2008 count. So instead of June, Garden State voters will go to the polls in February.
"For far too long presidential candidates have seen New Jersey only as a source of campaign cash," Gov. Corzine said in a statement announcing the signing. "New Jersey is now a prime-time player in the nomination process, and candidates will have to come here, speak to voters and hear and respond to our concerns about a variety of issues that impact our state."
Corzine mysteriously decided to allow the rest of the primary races to stay scheduled for June.
Under the bill, New Jersey's primary elections for all other offices would still be held in June. Creating a separate presidential vote will cost an estimated $10.34 million, a factor cited by opponents of the move.
A dastardly move if one was ever seen. And guess what... you New Jersey voters get to pay $10 million extra for the little corrupt move!
Here Corzine gets higher, maybe higher than average turnout for the presidential bigs on the early date, only then to have a much less publicized primary date for village, county, state, and federal/non-presidential races.
Now in a state where the corrupt majority is already so overwhelmingly weighted in his favor, who does that benefit?
But then again Democrat Slime has come to be defined by whole new levels in New Jersey... and even on this they failed to disappoint.
