"I have opponents in this race who do not want to change the Constitution," Huckabee told a Michigan audience on Monday. "But I believe it's a lot easier to change the Constitution than it would be to change the word of the living god. And that's what we need to do — to amend the Constitution so it's in God's standards rather than try to change God's standards so it lines up with some contemporary view."

That is my assessment of the guy. He is a bigoted religious nutjob. By the way he talks he wants to make the US a theocracy. Church and State, gotta keep them separated and I will do my part, by force if necessary, to keep it so.

You can play this "THE REAL HUCKABEE" game all day long..

And I can counter-punch everyone of them with a liberal, tax raising, amnesty sponsoring, abortion sponsoring, gun restricting, free speech squeling, gay marriage advocating, pandering FACT!
(Can't do much about Thompson, he never did anything.)

And my point will still be valid--Huckabee is hated because he is not just an evangelical, but because he is a Southern Baptist. Period.

Liars. Hypocrites.
The opposition keeps trying to paint Huckabee as a liberal.

Look at the records of any of the Republican candidates.

They have all either supported illegal aliens or tax raises, or spending in one form or another.

Mike Huckabee is the first Republican to sign NumbersUSA's No-Amnesty Pledge.

Mike Huckabee wants to do away with the current tax system and replace it with a simpler one, the FairTax.

Where is Rush Limbaugh now? Where is Ann Coulter now? Supporting a guy who wants to bail out every industry in America with welfare. Supporting a guy who had to come to an epiphany to realize abortion was a bad thing.

Why don't they read their own party platform.

Conservative. Christian. Words to the other candidates. Words.

http://www.mikehuckabee.com
http://www.fairtax.com

“What a contrast to Sen. McCain, Sen. Clinton and Sen. Obama, for example, who say they reject amnesty and then, in almost the same breath, say that most illegal aliens will have to be allowed to stay permanently. All three have repeatedly voted for amnesty. In the past week, Sen. McCain and Mayor Giuliani have clarified on national TV that they intend for most illegal aliens to be granted the very things they broke immigration laws to steal: an American job and U.S. residency.

“In a time of economic insecurity for many Americans, and rising joblessness, it is important to know which candidates would permanently fill American jobs with illegal foreign workers. I am pleased that Gov. Huckabee is saying he will not do that. He is taking a stand in favor of American workers, their families and their communities, all of whom need to be assured that once these illegal workers leave this country they will not be allowed back through special new catetories or by increasing the number of green cards in existing ones.”

Pandering
Huck's proposal will go no place, as he'd never get enough state's to ratify it, let alone the support in Congress to propose it. Most of the GOP is perfectly comfortable kicking the issue to the courts - because they can blame the courts while fudging the issue. After all, the issue has many shades of gray. How about rape or incest? How about early term vs. late term. What about the pill, or the morning after pill? Is aborting an egg fertilized the night before the same as aborting a 3 week old fetus, or a 10 week old fetus, or whatever? And, keep in mind this is a state issue that only became a federal issue because of Roe v. Wade. At the time, 14 states had legalized it. Another dozen were considering it. Today, you'd probably get 1/2 the states with fairly liberal laws, a group with various restrictions, and a handful that might outlaw it completely.

The issue is a red herring. Other than, I might add, as an indication of a politician perfectly willing to pander to the social conservatives while knowing full well his statements could never be translated into action. But the social conservatives - at least some of them - eat it up. Others are smart enough to see it for what it is.

Ummmm, Have You Not Been Paying Attention?

1st - The Huckster is a Liberal, posing as a Conservative.
2nd - Mike is on a Religious Crusade moreso than he is in an Election. He has no chance to win the Party nomination but will be just as happy bringing down the candidate of cultism then claiming victory in his personal holy war.

Enough of Us are wise to 'Likeable Mike's' plan to Never allow it to work. And if the Party does fracture, well - good luck getting anyone who meets Your Litmus Test elected with that Huge 20% of the 10% (extremists & activists that make up Most of the Primary voters) of the overall voting population anytime in the near Future.

Conservative Talk Hosts Bought By Romney
People need to know what is really going on in this election!

Mitt Romney's company Bain Capital has been in the process of acquiring Clear Channel which owns over 1,100 radio and 30 tv stations. Rush, Hannity, Ingraham and Beck are all under contract with Clear Channel. Any wonder why all of these hosts are pushing a liberal like Romney?

Romney and his friends have contributed nearly $600,000 to Club for Growth to attack Mike Huckabee. Romney also made a huge donation to the National Review which is why they endorsed him. He spent the years before his presidential bid making large contributions to social and fiscal conservative groups in order to buy votes.

Romney had an abysmal record in Mass. with a net increase in taxes higher than that of Huckabee's in Arkansas. Romney hid his tax increases in "fees" so it wouldn't look like taxes but the net effect is the same. Mass had higher unemployment than the national avg when he was governor and many businesses left the state. He also helped instiute gay marriage and ran as a pro-choice, anti-Reagan candidate. Watch the videos on youtube.

I've thoroughly researched Governor Huckabee and he is a fiscal conservative, a very strong social conservative and an honest and sincere candidate.

If Mitt Romney is the nominee, I will abstain from voting. I cannot in good conscience vote for someone who is trying to buy the presidency.

Defend the Constitution
Defend the Constitution. That's what the Republican Party talks about to our faces.

Protect it against activist judges. That's what they said when they wanted our money.

But when a Christian actually dares to do it, where are the Republicans?

Where is Rush Limbaugh now?

Mike Huckabee does not want to start a theocracy. He wants to amend the Constitution to protect the rights of the unborn, and the sanctity of the most important relationship in our society, traditional marriage.

Where is Ann Coulter now?

Hypocrites! Liars!

Mike Huckabee was re-elected overwhelmingly TWICE by the people of Arkansas because they loved his work.

Mitt Romney was never re-elected. So much for successes.

Fred Thompson claims he's the only "real" conservative among the Republicans. HA!

Hypocrites! Liars!

Democrats are laughing at the Republican Party right now. Does anyone honestly think that a young, vibrant, energized, vocal independent is going to choose Mitt Romney over Barack Obama?

Does anyone think that a bunch of tax-and-spend Republicans with no plans, no new ideas, and no commitments are going to beat the Democrats in November?

If you're going to take their money and spend it on garbage anyway, why should they vote for you? They have Hillary.

Protecting the unborn and traditional marriage are part and parcel of the Republican Party Platform. Take it out if you don't really believe in it!

Hypocrites. Liars.

Your actions belie your words.
Your actions belie your words.

Why should anyone follow your leaders?
Why should anyone believe in your promises?

The real Conservatives will step up and take back from the liberals their right to select the Republican nominee.... Then, McCain will be sent back to Washington to once again embrace his Liberal friends and harrass more Conservative causes........ and Huckleberry will be sent back to preach and support more taxes in Arkansas so that we can relocate those spoiled Guantonomo prisoners to American soil. (Maybe we can get him to take a couple of classes, this time from an accredited college, on current events and foreign relations)...

It would be nice if that would start to happen in South Carolina this Saturday.... but I don't hold out alot of hope....

Can Huckabee's supporters understand the
law? Or are they just being dishonest? The Massachusetts Supreme Court has ruled that ALL health plans must include coverage for abortions.
Therefore, the choice is between having health care that also covers abortions and not having ANY health care.

I am very pro-life. But is Huckabee really suggesting that Massachusetts would be a better place if state employees and the poor had NO HEALTH COVERAGE?

Or do Huckabee supporters think a Governor can just ignore court rulings?

I want a president who can read the law and understand it (Romney graduated top 10% of Harvard Law while also graduating top 5% Harvard MBA) and has the good sense to obey it (as Romney did in Massachusetts).

Does Huckabee know Jesus?
When in the Bible did Jesus ever overturn the law of the land? When did he tell Ceasar he was wrong? When did he forcefully stop the common practices of the day?

Only one time. When people entered his Father's House, the Temple and desecrated it by having money changers in the courtyard.

Every other time he said "render unto Ceasar that which is Ceasar's and render unto God that which is God's." He turned the other cheek, he even allowed them to crucify him, always abiding by the law. Jesus taght people the higher law. He changed their hearts and over the centuries people changed the laws they lived by. Changing the law will not change people's hearts. It will not bring anyone closer to salvation. It is a cheap immitation of conversion, to force change on the outer man, but cause the inward man to harden against God.

I want to believe that Mike Huckabee is a good man, but he is getting lost fast in the world of politics. If we ammend the Constitution to ban abortion only because it is against the will of God, if we ammend the Constitution to ban same sex marriage only because it is against the will of God, then we will have failed. Until the general populus has ammended their hearts we will not have succeeded and that can only happen by their choice.

Our rights come from God, but the will to keep and uphold them has to come from us.

It's fascinating
It's fascinating how much disdain for evangelicals has been under the surface and has now bared its fangs since huckabee has risen from the second tier.

I guess evangelicals are supposed to just do what the republicans tell us to do.

No candidate has received the prostate exam that huckabee has even though the other candidates have been personally responsible for pushing amnesty, funding abortions, supporting gay marriage, limiting free speech, instituting government mandated healthcare, opposing gun rights, raising taxes(or "fees"), or generally doing nothing except in a senate office...with none, save one, having ANY foreign policy experience.

Mitt flips, flops, & panders...but that's what pols do
McCain takes away our freedoms... but he's a war hero
Giuliani only likes half the constitution ...but he saved NYC@911
Fred! has been napping for 6months & 5 primaries...but he's the "real conservative"
But the only thing that is markedly different about huckabee is that he's ... an evangelical.

Maybe evangelicals need to start thinking about what the republican party really thinks about us.

I recall in our constitution: the right to life, liberty and the pursuit...

I guess some hear that as: the right to choose who lives and dies, the liberty to redefine whatever they want and pursue it.

Huckabee stands up for the rights of the unborn.
Huckabee stands up for marriage.

We now have states like Massachusetts that use tax payer money for abortions.

We have judges that would like to redefine marriage. A marriage license that would have to be accepted in other states. Just like drivers licenses.

You can either stand up, like Huckabee.
Or stand by and watch.

The Christian Rights dilemma this Primary Season has a name. It is Huckabee.
The dilemma the Huckabee Campaign presents to them is Huck is starting to show the strain, and people are beginning to think there is little difference between Likeable Mike and your run of the mill despot, meglomaniac or religious zealot!

A good number of the Hardcore Huck-ables have made it their 'moral duty' to vote for the Minister who would be king.
Others caught up in the emotion of the moment, the euphoric feeling of having 'one of their own' doing well at this stage of the process, are casting votes against their long-held, party values.
AND more than a few Are applying a unique double-standard to their decision making process, turning a blind eye to Mike Huckabee's shortcomings & Liberal leaning style of governing.
For ALL of them there is a common denominator. Win or lose? Doesn't much matter. Fracture the Core of the Conservative Movement setting the middle class back 25 years? Oh well. Put Values & Principle in a "Lock Box" and, forget about them for a while? 'Whatever it takes' is the mantra for the ReligiousRight at present.
NOT being considered is that we'll ALL have to take whatever we get if the process breaks down or the Party Core disintegrates.

seperation of church and state?
Where in the constution does it mention that? 'Freedom of Religion' was meant to protect religion from the government, not the opposite, which would include the imposition of secular humanism, which has all of the elements of a religion. Respecting that intention our founding fathers had in mind when penning our constution means protecting religion's influence over government. Anyone with any doubts should check the clerical credentials of many Founding Fathers.
