Isn't it interesting to see what condition the "environmentally-sensitive" Obama sycophants left Washington, DC after their inaugural Woodstock? I read an estimate of litter to be at 130 tons.

My sister was in DC the day after the inauguration and was appalled by the amount of trash and water bottles strewn all over the mall.

Why are the Green Obama supporters the ones who spread the most trash? Why do we not see the same thing happen when pro-life groups march through DC? Why, after one million men attended a Promise Keepers event on the mall, was the area left so spotless you could have a garden tea party?

Pro-Life March
I was at a pro-life march in DC years ago. I was surprised by how little litter there was. I mean there was almost no litter.

130 Tons, 1.2 Million People
Do the math. That's less than 3 1/2 ounces of litter per person, most of whom spent at least eight hours out there.

Also, it's my understanding that the park police removed most or all of the trashcans, a common practice when there are security concerns. It's probably the right thing to do, but does have a downside.

Clean up
Cleaning up paper, etc., will be easy compared to cleaning up eight years of Bush policies.

Any concern over THAT mess?

Sources?
Your link is dead... Is there any actual proof of how the mall was left after any conservative activist marches or is that just an imaginary figure?

It's a completely invalid comparison anyway... The inauguration was not an environmentalist event.

Bob has a good point. Trash cans were removed. But in my opinion that's still no excuse. Every back packer knows that what you bring in you bring out. People should have more respect than to throw trash on the ground on the Mall of our nation's capital.

"People should have more respect than to throw trash on the ground on the Mall of our nation's capital."

People should, but they don't. Anyone who lives in the DC area can tell you that the Mall is trashed for EVERY event and pretty much on a daily basis when there aren't any events. Claiming that "Obama supporters [are] the ones who spread the most trash" is both baseless and fallacious, a knee-jerk partisan reaction.

I agree with Bob. To suggest that Obama supporters are unique in throwing trash or that they're any worse than other groups is just plain wrong.

The workers were ready. That trash was cleaned up lickety split. If anything the event organizers should be commended for their preparedness and fast clean up.

But fasten your safety belt because people like K-Mac are going to hurl all kinds of criticism at Obama and his supporters whether it be legitimate or not. Obama is ready for this. Hopefully we'll treat those that opine better than the Dixie Chicks were treated for voicing their opinions.

Where is ALGORE
To Decry the carbon footpring and the treatment of mother earth. Munck points out that it is only 3 1/2 ouncers per person. carrying that empty water bottle or starbucks cup in your pocket back to where you came from is that big of hassle for the earth friendly crowd?

Earth Friendly Crowd
It's a given that the people that carried the trash there could have and should have carried it out. It's utterly ignorant to suggest that they were all "earth friendly" given that Obama appeals to a wide variety of Americans some of whom don't meet the definition of "earth friendly"

It wasn't
just the two events mentioned, but there were two Washington for Jesus rallies on the Mall in the 80's. My husband attended the first with some men from our church and at the second he brought me and our two youngest sons. It was the same story, the Park Police were amazed at how neat we left it following the events. Twomay,
I am ONe source, I was there and I witnessed it, and my husband witnessed BOTH events and I did
cite a scource..the Park Police..DUH!

Maybe not, but many of his idolaters ARE
Greenies and lets not forget all those mental midgets that infest Hollywierd these days with their carbon spewing PRIVATE planes roaring into
Dulles..why they are soo important one runway was closed to accomodate their polluters.

No you can't excuse that mess. Those of us who attended the other events did take care of our
trash, unfortunately for your side, we saw what trash was there with their class act of booing
both president Bush, Laura, V.P. Cheney and Lynn.
I understand many were giving them the Pro Choice one finger wave also, classy as usual.
