You commit the very same error you charge "pualpot"supporters of. There is a vastly HUGE difference between prveing somthing and evidence for somthing. The only thing that we can be sure about polls taken this early is that are wrong or will be wrong. You sir can not attk on pilicy wo you act like a liberal and call names. You support my theory that NEOCONS are liberals with a different agenda. You imply the same tatics to advance a less free America. You do not mind giving up freedom as long as it is your agenda that you give it up for. |
|
The amount of supporters seems to have earned a very significant amount of your energies. Wonder why you devote so much to some one not showing up in polls. |
|
You make a good point about Ron Paul being an extreme long shot for the nomination and about some of his supporters not being your conventional political activists.
However, it really is not fair to imply that all of his supporters are "nutcase, crack'd head, PaulPot whack jobs."
First of all, there are many thoughtful Ron Paul supporters who simply value the Constitution and are starting to think that our huge government is stepping all over it. I hope you don't think there is anything nutty about that.
Secondly, bringing up the reference to Pol Pot likens Ron Paul supporters to something that couldn't be more different from them: a socialist movement taking over a legitimate government by force, stealing what freedoms people had, killing a quarter of the country, and sending people into miserable poverty. All of those things are (obviously) opposite what Ron Paul wants--and as a matter of fact, on the issue of socialist government policies all of the rest of the Republican candidates for President are closer to Pol Pot than Ron Paul is. They're still so far from Pol Pot that they're not worthy of making the comparison, but they don't have beliefs--or the guts, whichever one--to talk about getting rid of failed policies like Social Security and Medicare and Medicaid that cause skyrocketing costs and more harm than good.
The "PaulPot" joke would make sense if something about Ron Paul or his supporters was actually related in some way to Pol Pot, but that just isn't the case. |
|
Seriously I've never been called by a pollster, of course I don't use a land line at all.
Oh and we do show up to vote once in Straw Polls. You have to show up to vote in Straw polls....... There is no other way to vote.

Yeah. Curse those Ron Paul guys.
I mean, the nerve. They're actually enthusiastic about their candidate!!!
I mean, they're so hyped about a genuine old-school conservative that they show up to these party sponsored events in numbers that dwarf the other establishment approved candidates.
They suck. |
|
McCullough apparently wants to drive more attention to his worthless blog by disparaging the only true conservative in the race. Sorry for being enthusiastic about my candidate. Sorry for being a conservative with conservative principles that I'm unwilling to compromise.
The good news is it's getting harder for morons like McCullough to claim Ron Paul has only a precious few internet spammers supporting him. Since just October, Dr. Paul has almost 125,000 donors, and he pulls more military donations than anyone else in the race.
One question I have is whom, exactly, are called for these "scientific" polls? Answer: it's likely people who voted in the Republican primary back in 2000. Anyone who's registered GOP in the past 8 years is discounted... and these people make up a significant portion of Paul voters. And another question: how accurate have these primary polls been in the past? History has shown many surprises in the primaries... but I wouldn't expect a useful idiot like McCullough to know that.

...attack Paul (aka, tell the truth about him) and members of his Paulian cult will swarm to their Messiah's defense with the standard personal attacks that makes the Paulians possibly the most annoying group ever. They even surpass the 9/11 Twoofers, that might be becuase many of the Paulians are Twoofers as well. |
|
|
He actually talks about the Constitution! |
|
I'm a registered republican and voted in last years primary. I also have a land line. But I also have caller id. If I don't recognize the number I don't pick up. I also work long hours to pay my bills and taxes so I'm usually not home until late. I would think many people are in the same boat I am. So who is answering these phone polls? If I had to guess I'd say older or retired people who are happy to talk to anyone. And as Frank Luntz demonstrated you can get any answer you want out of a poll (F.U. FRANK!). These older folks, I'd reckon, get their info from newspapers and TV where Ron Paul is rarely mentioned or when he is is called a "darkhorse", "longshot", or worse. So probably these polls are flawed. But we'll know for sure come election day now won't we. |

Straw polls have nothing to do with Democracy NOR Dictatorships.
Straw polls have nothing to do with a Representative Republic either...
Straw polls have no formal role in American politics...
Straw polls are by definition a poll that is taken that MEANS nothing... and flooding straw polls does not help one win an actual elective office.
What the PaulPot supporters (increasingly recycled MoveOn.org whacks) fail to realize is that you are waiting for some incredible movement on election day - but you haven't even convinced a majority of even half the electorate to rally around your candidate and his CRACKPOT views about security and terrorism after at least a dozen debates and forums...
So when will you?
When will the public "finally get it"?
Or is it that they have chosen to reject the MoveOn.org rejects funding the Congressman who would be a fine candidate barring his denial of the greatest threat of our time? |
|
Ron Paul is likely going to raise more money in the fourth quarter than Rudy Giuliani.
Who says there's no rally?
Half of these people who answer the phone and respond to polls don't really care about the election, anyway, and many of them won't show up to vote. But all of those people coming to straw polls are giving evidence that they WILL turn out.
I think the Republican elites are going to be surprised at how well Paul does, though I still doubt he will win it. He's a sight better than most of the pathetic roster they were able to dig up. |
|
Are you attempting to claim that Soros/MoveOn have neither funded (in large gifts) a major portion of the money Paul has already raised, and that activists supporting his "campaign" are not in fact some volunteers from MoveOn, Media Matters, etc?
Is that what you claim?
For the record...? |
|
I know HOW straw polls work...
My point in saying they have nothing to do with zipdiddlydodah - is that they are in fact merely a "practice vote" as you pointed out.
But they: 1. Are not representative of the region's population... 2. Not representative of the density of a candidate's popularity amongst a given region... 3. Do NOT have defined limits on people who may participate (as an actual election does) such as residency...
More importantly many pinheads here have been arguing that the pollsters could by no way get it right.
HOWEVER due to the changing demographic make-up of the population, and the changing technology for HOW people will vote - Rasmussen polls - accurately predicted 2000, 2002, 2004, and 2006.
In Rasmussen's national poll, as well as his state polls - Paul is LOST in the tail of the primary options.
Idiot straw polls - have never been actual evidence of ANYTHING. Pollsters surveying the thoughts, feelings, and intentions of the voting population HAVE been proven to be accurate if technological factors are considered - and Rasmussen has taken the prize for being the most adept at morphing his polling methods with the trends of the culture.
AND most importantly he's gotten it right in the last four general elections...
That's a heck of a lot more reliable than stuffing the phone booth and volkswagon vanagon in San Francisco and busting up a GOP Straw Poll with rabid MoveOners looking to use the GOP against itself... |
|
The big government branch of the GOP will split their votes during the primaries among all the neocons. A vote for Rudy will take away a vote from Mitt, will take away a vote from John, etc...
Meanwhile, every Ron Paul supporter will be chomping at the bit to vote. And if the weather is bad then so much the better. While the Rudy McRomney crowd debates whether it's worth it to even bother going to the polls ("I don't want to miss the Price is Right"), Ron Paul supporters will be lined up ten deep to vote.
Oh yeah, I seriously doubt the MoveOn crowd would risk putting Dr. Paul in the White House as they would have the most to lose. That theory is just plain silly and reeks of desperation. |
|
then you will want to check the Paul campaign donation lists for the last six months. Soros and co. HAVE cut LARGE checks for Paul2008 - go ahead and check!
Paul is being partially funded by MoveOn.org! MoveOn is also recruiting volunteers for the Paul2008 ops because at present the organization is so sorely lacking ANY type of national presence they are accepting help wherever they can get it! |
|
If they want to fund their own destruction why should I care? Seems kind of funny actually. |
|
I guess having the most military donations of any candidate, confirms he really is a paulpot. With your strong conviction, go to the illegal war in Iraq an tell the soldiers that. |
|
|
is the Republican party establishment. Somebody please give us a curtesy flush because it's starting to stink in there! |
