I'm sure like the majority of Americans, I am waking up today - actually angry at Ron Paul's insuation that "we had it coming" on 9/11 because "we had been bombing Iraq for 10 years."

First off... the assertion is blatantly false. Our pilots were enforcing the global community's agreed upon "No Fly Zones" in the areas of Iraq where Saddam was likely to brutalize "his own people" had we not been there.

Secondly... Saddam was regularly firing at us. Not the entire Arab or Muslim world - one snotty nosed dictator. He no longer wanted to be under the agreement that resulted in the original cease-fire. He thought that by shooting our planes down his life would be better.

Thirdly... for Ron Paul - or any GOP candidate to invoke the "we were asking for it" trutherism is not just poor taste but truly an act of Anti-Americanism. Ron Paul is perfectly welcome to spend his money and run for office - but it does not mean that we have to pay one ounce of attention to him.

And we shouldn't...

Wow... read your history!!
It's not just about the 80s and 90s people! The West has been interfering in ME politics since before WWI and ever increasingly afterward.

You need to read your history- Paul's right.

PAUL told a blatant lie...
We had not been "bombing Iraq for 10 years." You sir LHolt avoided the actual substance of the statement.

Is rational thinking off limits now?
People tend to be mad at SOMETHING when they fly planes into buildings. Frankly I don't believe the government line that America's freedom and goodness drives men mad. Maybe in a Saturday morning cartoon, but not in the real world. Ron Paul spoke the truth that Americans do not want to hear. They would rather wrap themselves in comfy American flags and blame it all on someone else.

Ron Paul 08
Ron didn't insuate "that America had it coming".

Ron did say though we need to look at why we were attacked by Al Qaida/Osama Bin Laden, in terms of foreign policy.

As 9/11 Commission Report and the CIA have stated, Bin Laden has said, " He is going to war with us because we are in the Middle East, on supposedly his Holy ground.

Ron also has stated that he wants to go after Bin Laden, he just wants to do things in foreign policy much different than Bush and the Neocons, who are going to pass more bad policy and endanger our country more with the "Amnesty Immigration Act", I like to call it.

Pride comes before the fall.

Bad Foreign Policy whose to blame
We've had such bad policy over the last century that we are the largest debtor nation in the world.
We have a debt over 50 trillion and booming due to future entitlement expenditures, and big government we've exceeded, into a whole new definition I would describe as "gigantic" government.
Does this itself not show bad policy foreign and domestic, is this not the temperature gauge that tells us we need some chages to get well.

Ron Paul is the only one up on that stage that has the balance of knowledge in every area domestically and foreign to at least get us moving in the right direction.

We can defend and protect ourselves but c'mon lets have a little common sense like Reagan did when we try to handle problems arising in the world.

No, instead we gotta play politics, call names, and present no real commonsense debate.

the only christian on the stage
He's the only guy on the stage who is a true christian. Plain and simple.
