Jim Webb
Veep?

Follow the bouncing racial ball... Barack Obama is the presumptive Democratic nominee for President. Being half-black makes him the "historical" candidate. This "historical" half-white black man raised money and campaigned for (wait for it...) Robert Byrd in 2006 - the only current member of the United States Senate who has also been a Grand Kleagle in the Ku Klux Klan AND who used the "N" word as recently as 2002.

Now - as it turns out - one of the leading candidates by nearly everyone's assessment that I've heard from - for Obama's VP position turns out to be a huge fan of the confederacy. (You know the portion of the nation that attempted to disjoin itself because they believed so adamantly that white people had the right to OWN black people...

Isn't being a democrat fun?

Comparison
Let's compare the Democrat's Robert Byrd to the GOP's Strom Thurmond: Thurmond raped his black maid, father a child, yet still managed to find time to be a full-time racinst in the Congress.

For all of Byrd's shameful past, his voting record on racial issues is 100% better than Strom's.

Illegitimate children! GOP family values!

Pet Goat ...
nice strawman Pet Goat ...

If you really wanted to defend Webb you could point out that the Civil War was about States rights. Yes, the primary right that the States were trying to maintain was the right to decide to own slaves at the State level, but it was still about States rights. 90+% of the citizens of the Confederacy were not slave holders, they fought for their States right to decide things for themselves.

But, you liberals are masters at deflection so you went to the strawman ...

Sad really ...

Please wake up and realize that Obama is a con man who is lying to you ...

At this point is there anyone that Obama calls a friend that you think he really "knows" ... It seems he has to say, "Thats not the person I knew" an awful lot these days. Mr. "Superior Judgement" seems to have made some HUGE mistakes judging people in his life for 20+ years.

Or he knows those people well and is lying about it.

I think a Harvard law degree says the man is smart enough to know exactly what his associates are about and he still choose those people to be in his life.

He is conning you ... please wake up and smell the BS he is shoveling ...

:)

Seeing how you have a problem about the Confederacy you probably have a problem with those of us who honor our noble ancestors. Here's a suggestion for you. Petition your representatives to kick us out of the union. Another option is for you to simply stay the hell out of the South.

The Stupid party must be running scared of Webb to bring up something as idiotic as this.

As for Byrd, he hasn't been a kleagle in something like 50 years, so idiots like Sean Hannity with his "Robert 'KKK' Byrd" need to find something else to whine about. How about "David 'SDS' Horowitz"? This sort of crap can cut both ways.

Thanks, Ghost!
My BS radar is finely tuned, thanks in large part to KMC's blog and articles.

Oh, and by the way, I'm not a liberal. I'm a Conservative (note the all important upper case "C") in the Goldwater tradition, horrified and appaled by the hijacking of my beloved GOP by the Neo-Con freakazoids.

Absolutely, Ryan
I'll bet the crackpot thinks the colonies should have stayed under the crown, too, rather than declare independence.

My Southern ancestors...
fought not for slavery. They fought the illegal invasion of the United States.
FOID Yankee.

Here is an idea...
Try calling Jim Webb a racist to his face.
I bet you don't have the balls, coward.

"Commander"(me thinks he projects a bit)
Instead of challenging me to call Webb a racist to his face. Which I would not be intimidated in the least to do...

I'd prefer him to explain to my African American son - why he supports a view of people, government, history that said it was once ok to own them as property.

You states' rights people are funny. One of the "state's rights" that they were supposedly defending was the view that one man could own another.

And the universal right of humanity - granted by God Himself - is that right to self determination...

See - the universal right, trumped the "state's rights" and the North was right to say so.

And I say this as southerner myself...

You are no Southerner...
When are you going to man up and call Jim Webb a racist to his face?
It figures that you have no idea what a Commander 45ACP is.

KMC to "call Webb a racist to his face"
"Which I would not be intimidated in the least to do..."

I'd pay to see the smackdown Mr. Webb would dole out to you.

"You states' rights people are funny. One of the "state's rights" that they were supposedly defending was the view that one man could own another."

This was considered acceptable by a number of people at the time, so don't try to judge them by today's low standards. By the way, a few years earlier a number of Northern states allowed slavery.

"And I say this as southerner myself..."

If you really are, then my ancestor had a term for you. Scalawag.
