It will be the 1000's of media reports like this one that air over the next few days that will reverberate into "Falwell was the devil." (By the way MSM - Falwell apologized for his post 9/11 comments - a very, very, very long time ago...

I found it to be of particular note that the two students interview cite their university's Chancellor's humility...

Apology....
Did he apologize for calling Nelson Mandella (one of the finest human beings God has ever put on this earth) a communist?

Did he apologize for endorsing racism?

Did he apologize for attempthing to defraud the taxpers of this country?

Did he apologize for insulting and dismissing Jews time and time again?

Did he apologize for calling gays/lez "Satanic"?

Did he apologize for conning Jim and Tammye Faye?

Why don't you find a respectable Christian to eulogize????

Falwell never endorsed Racism
And it is slanderous for you to say so Manfred. Your point is not better made by making patently untrue statements.

100% racist....
Oh, yes he did!

RACIST: He said that the Apartheid government of South Africa was a 'bulwark for Christian civilization.” .

RACIST: He called Nelson Mandela a communist.

RACIST: He called the civil rights movement, “the civil wrongs movement.” ((http://www.gather.com/viewArticle.jsp?articleId=281474977001019))

RACIST: Told his supporters to buy Krugerrands in order to support the horror that was Apartheid. ((http://www.americablog.com/))

RACIST: Said MLK Jr. was not a real Christian. ((http://www.slate.com/id/2166220/?nav=fix))

RACIST: In 1996, Falwell joined Revelation Corp. It was started by James Lowery as a way for black churches to receive money off of insurance premiums from their congregation’s purchases. Churches make 30% of the money funneled into Revelation and 50% goes to a housing fund, 20% goes into church coffers and 2% goes directly into the pocket of Lowery through a profit sharing plan. Many black church leaders have expressed disdain in the Fundamental Falwell’s joining a system design to help poor black churches. But, he did flip-flop on just about everything, include raciial matters. To educate yourself on his evil ways the Slate article is the best.

You may have perceived those actions as
Racist...

Calling someone a "communist" does not equate to "racism." If someone in fact believes in communist ideas, marxist philosophies etc. it is simply a fact.

But none of your examples were an actual statement saying "Racism is good - and we should all adopt it."

Falwell could have embraced the government of South Africa for reasons other than their apartheid.

If he endorse APARTHEID then you would have an equitable comparison but the examples you cite and the spin you put on them don't add up to "endorsing racism."

And if he did endorse racism then it would be unlikely that he himself would've admitted students of all sorts of different races to his church and university - but he did so - sorry to burst your bubble - no racism there...

And btw Manfred...
Gays aren't minorities.

They are people who engage in sexual activity with people of the same gender. There is no scientific evidence that proves that this is caused by genetics, dna, or cellular causes - in other words they are not born that way.

They choose to act out on inclinations they have in their emotions and minds.

Blacks, Latinos, Asians, the disabled, and women can not change the fact that they are born as such.

This is not the case with homosexuals.

The best you've got?
Gays are not minorities? That's the best defense you've got against a litany of blatant, documented racist comments?

Thanks for making my point! That thunder storm we had the night of Falwell's death was no doubt the sound of God kicking Falwell’s butt all over Heaven.
