Here's just
SOME
of what we're hitting this Saturday night:
1. My "Black President" - racial utopia, or just plain race warfare?
:
Livin'... "the Dream?"
In Hour One... Last Monday
69% of African Americans told CNN
in a poll prior to the inauguration that "The Dream" has been fulfilled.
(**Content Warning**) So this is how two of the icons in African American culture celebrate?(**Content Warning**)
President Obama also announced this week
his agenda to attack the family, and the values of families
. And finally,
would you believe you could likely be safer in a car accident than in your mother's womb
? President Obama--Christian--making the kinds of strides to bring America together... right? 800.345.9622 your calls welcomed.
Resource:
The Kind of Man Every Man Should Be
. (Brand new title on "Manhood")
MuscleHead Revolution: Overturning Liberalism with Commonsense Thinking
.
2. The Oscar goes to... inside the Actor's (Stevie B) studio
:
To read or wrestle...
In Hour Two... Claiming there is no single greater force on influencing the culture than Hollywood films, Baldwin tees off on
the Oscar nominations
. He's made 60 of them so I'll let him drive the point home. Claiming the Hollywood elite are setting the tone for the culture he asks intriguing questions. And now honoring the films that have been nominated Baldwin believes they are glorifying the worst elements our society could be at this point. Worse yet in being nominated for Oscars many will go see these films, completely unawares of what they are walking in to. Agree/Disagree - and if you disagree you get to go to the front of the line... 800.345.9622.
Bonus topics:
Should wives have "guy-friends?"
PLUS: Did you know they are now
selling flasks (for liquor expressly) to 12 year old girls
?

your show
I am so happy that your show is growing and doing so well. I really enjoy it and you and Stephen have great chemistry. I find it interesting that President Obama says he doesn't believe in torture of prisoners for information that might save lives, yet he doesn't see a problem with torturing the most innocent among us--unborn babies--through the act of murder (whoops!! that wasn't politically correct--I meant to say abortion)

Nominees....
I'm part of a small group of retired ladies from my church who are all movie buffs. We are fortunate to live near Austin, which has quite a few theaters that show off-the-beaten-track films.
We have seen most of the nominated films and think that, by and large, the choices are terrific.
"Doubt," "Frost/Nixon," "Slumdog Millionarie" and especially "Milk" are my personal favorites.
I'm especially rooting for Viola Davis -- who stole with show in "Doubt" with maybe 10-15 minutes on screen.

Obama effect
After reading Kevin's silly little article entitled "Hope and Change," I surfed across this little gem:

Movies
My wife and I saw most of them, too. All were great movies.
My wife loved "Doubt," and I liked "The Wrestler." "Frost/Nixon" was way too sympathetic to Tricky Dicky and made me furious. "Benjamin Button" was a bore and "Milk" was terrific.
Maybe Mr. Baldwin is a bit jealous?

Scarlett
Please don't adopt the beliefs of Limbaugh and Hannity. Criticizing a sitting U.S. President is not necessarily unpatriotic. It can also be helpful even if it is Obama.
Unlike Republicans, the Democrats should feel free to disagree with each other or with the President without fear of being "Dixie Chicked".
The sad thing about it is that much of the criticism is petty, like criticizing Obama for not rebuking rappers who use racist, sexist and violent language. Many people criticized him before he even made an official act. One nit wit columnist blamed the decline in the stock market on inauguration day on something Obama said in his speech. That's ridiculous. This pettiness is going to render even legitimate criticism to be unheeded.
