I really hate it when "parties" do really stupid things. And I'm not talking about
Obama's bribe and bait little play with Arlen Specter. Heck he's been voting from that side of the aisle so long I just figured he had forgotten where his seat was.
I'm talking about two of my heroes George W. Bush and Rick Santorum taking some really bad advice and snuggling up to the snake-oil Senator when he last ran for re-election.
It caused me incredible pain at the time, but the thinking by all the smart people in the room like some of the other contributors on this website was, "Hey... because they helped him so much, he'll owe his allegiance to them."
That little pearl of wisdom gave us a liberal Democrat Senator Bob Casey who is only there because people thought his father was on the ballot, but who ended up helping get Barack Obama elected.
Now the move by Bush and Santorum to back Specter over Pat Toomey last go around may permanently install socialized programs the likes FDR couldn't have even dreamed up.
And when Obama has steam-roll power over the opposition in Congress these first 100 days are going to look like child's play to what is going to happen.
Court appointments, Taxes, corrupt pay-for-play, term-limits, permanent dictator status... it's all up for review now.
And why?
Because George W. Bush and Rick Santorum DID NOT remove the cancerous tumor when they had the chance. And today Senator Specter kicked them in the face one more time just for the fun of it...
