The Homeless have become a staple accessory in the Democratic strategy. Their goal: flaunt them when criticizing Republicans and keep them in the closet like cast-off shoes when the Democrat elite come to town. That's what is going to happen at the Democratic National Convention in less than a month where the Democrats latest plan to help the poor will be to hide them.  A non-profit organization is helping "get 500 movie tickets as well as passes to the Denver Zoo, Denver Museum of Nature and Science and other cultural facilities for the people it helps." Free transportation will be provided if events are too far away.
But don't worry--although Democrats are getting the homeless as far away from their events as possible, they won't let the homeless forget their civic duty. " A two-day voter registration drive is also planned at shelters and health clinics to ensure that metro area homeless people have access to the polls in November."

I first worked with homeless people when I was twelve years old. My whole family would serve meals or lead a chapel at the local homeless shelter. I performed in a professional theatrical production that told the 50 year history of the Roanoke Rescue Mission, raising both money and awareness. My fifteen year old sister recently decided to use her photography skills to take pictures of local homeless children. She gave the pictures to the parents, some of whom had never had a picture of their child. There are many things people can do to help the homeless.

Handing out free movies tickets isn't one of them.
