Low Blow...
Hugh - simply pulling an AP headline in which Huck's comments are taken out of context - even to the degree that you don't know if he was asked the question - or if he is penning an op/ed...
...will possibly come back to bite you.
Be fair Hugh!
To not do so - doesn't make someone else a bigot...
Just imagine - a radio host going too far in his attack on someone he doesn't like?
That wouldn't happen would it? (Asked with tongue firmly planted in cheek) |

but what does the picture have to do with the content of your post, Kevin? |

Low blows COULD be adopted all the way around...
It is a visual illustration of what Hugh is doing to Huck... |

Hardly. Now that the article has been released, there is simply no further "context" in which to put it. Huckabee is a Clintonian sleaze; no more, no less. |

Yep, just read the article. Not taken out of context at all. Huck is a total jerk. |

If you are interested in 'fair,' you should look in the mirror. Get your own house in order. |

. . . lingering around Huckabee's comments?
The problem with Huckabee repeatedly claiming that he's ignorant (on NIE, on "Mormon beliefs") but then making an inflammatory remark shows that this guy just doesn't have the intellectual where-with-all to bring a country together.
He's got a serious case of the "unprepareds" and he runs a campaign (and his mouth) by the seat of his pants.
He's a wonderful demagogue . . . if you're into demagogues. |

I don't really see how context really saves him. (Bear with me....)
According to the Huck campaign, it was an innocent statement in the context of "I don't want to bring religion in, because then people will be asking if Mormons believe Christ and Lucifer are brothers."
That's still religion baiting. Huck obviously thinks that that mormon belief, no matter how its sliced, is a lil silly. Perhaps it is. But this has nothing to do with a political campaign.
It would be akin to saying (since my name is Kevin Tierney) "I don't agree with Kevin Tierney, but I don't want his Catholicism having anything to do with this debate. If so, people could start asking if Catholics pray to and worship Mary."
It's one of those rhetorical devices where one seeks to be above the debate, but still gets in a jab before the bell. |
