"ads... what ads?" Associated Press is reporting that Romney is pulling his ads from South Carolina and Florida. Virtually conceding both of those races to Mike Huckabee. Many have wondered if Rudy will make his comeback in Florida, and he well could. But Romney's move allows an easier division of the pie. True social conservatives will have only the one candidate opposing the social liberal Giuliani. Huckabee's internet team should immediately use this bit of news to RAISE money for those two races specifically - especially Florida. The Associated Press implies that John McCain will contest for South Carolina - which he did aggressively in 2000 - but something tells me that this is a very different year. Nonetheless this may be the right play for Romney, a big win in Michigan would be something he would not have seen to date.

I'm praying (yes, actually praying) for a Romney win in Michigan to shut up the ignorant press about how poorly Romney is doing. When he wins this one it will be interesting to see what the press has to say. Will they swallow hard and actually tell us Romney is a front runner ??? |

stay in the race, americans have a right to vote for someone else. It is pathetic how the establishment is still arguing that Romney can win. He is incapable of closing his arguments to the american voters. So far, he is paraphrasing Hillary and obama about experience and change in washington - If I did not know he was running as a republican, I would have sworn he is a democratic candidate. Do you think he will run as an independent if he does not get the nomination? Just to annoy the republican nominee. |

Mitt Romney is working his turnaround. He has very little time to work with, but it seems like a good strategy.
One thing I have noticed is that when a person that everyone expects to be a contender purposfully holds back the results can be suprising. We shall see what happens.
Mitt Romney may be pulling television ads, but he isn't pulling his campaign out of those states. I still expect a reasonable showing in both, and think Michigan and Nevada are going to look really good for Mitt. |

or did the annoying staff members get it wrong again? Who cares why he pulled the ads. at least he has learned it is not good to be a mean contender. The sad thing is that Mitt actually has a resume that does not require him to re-direct voters to the other guys weaknesses. He can actually discuss his record and make a closing argument - but he lacks the skill to do so, and those skills can't be bought at harvard law or business school. I almost feel bad for him, the guy who had everything going for him, except that voters did not believe him. Sad I tell you, sad! |

ROMNEY BEGGING FOR $$$ TODAY LIKE A LITTLE B I T C H............"The public spectacle, a rarity for the normally tightly controlled Romney political operation, included APPEALS for calm from a top financial backer, eBay CEO Meg Whitman, and a top political supporter, former Sen. Jim Talent of Missouri. "To a person, we remain optimistic that we still have a CHANCE to win this thing," Whitman told the crowd, which included everyone from Fortune 500 executives to entrepreneurs. Spencer Zwick, Romney's national finance director, told the phone bankers: "If for some reason he is not the nominee, all those funds WILL BE RETURNED to the donor himself."----BETTER POST-DATE THOSE CHECKS!!! |

I seriously doubt that Paul ever said the quote you're attributing to him.
Care to post a link to verify? |

Mitt tends to go down in the polls once the campaigning starts and he is already in a dead heat in his own home state. He lost in his own backyard. In Michigan, they do not like Rush Limbaugh, friend of the upper management class, telling them who to vote for, so Mitt cannot count on the promises of the negative commentator to keep his campaign afloat by virtue of Rush attacking Huck daily. The nation wants to look up with Huck. |

It was the voice on the Damascus road, the voice of the risen Christ, who spoke to Saul (who change his name to Paul) of the futility of kicking against "the pricks" or the goads. In plowing often sharpened sticks were used to keep the oxen from kicking backwards against the plow or the plower. It is futile to resist what your insides are telling you. |

Republicans need to get serious. Look at the Democrats - they're truly frightening. We need to win in November.
Bottom line, Mitt has proven he can't win, even on friendly turf. He's spent a ton of money and all he's done is himiliate himself and tear down his fellow Republicans.
It's time for him to step aside and let the voters unite behind someone who can win. I don't agree with you that Huckabee is that candidate, but I do agree that it isn't Mitt. |
