(Panderbyte: a term trademarked by me yesterday. It is the use of short quippy quotes to blatantly pander to the voters in such a way so as to say, "you are too stupid to run your own lives, thus why you need us - the loony liberals of America.)
Harry Reid was "sticking with General Petreaus" before he was for "sticking it to Petreaus."
“General Petreaus has said the war cannot be won militarily, he’s said that,” Reid said. “And President Bush is doing nothing economically, he’s doing nothing diplomatically, he’s not doing anything even the minimal requested by the Iraq Study Group, so I stick with General Petreaus. I have no doubt the war cannot be won militarily and that’s what I said last Thursday and I stick with that.”
A marine stationed in one of Iraq's most violent areas responded today (in a non-panderbyte):
In raw and emotional language from the bloody front lines, Cpl. Tyler Rock, of the 1st Battalion, 6th Marines, skewered Reid for being far removed from the patriotism and progress in Iraq.
"Yeah, and I got a quote for that [expletive] Harry Reid. These families need us here," Rock vented in an e-mail...
"Obviously [Reid] has never been in Iraq. Or at least the area worth seeing . . . the parts where insurgency is rampant and the buildings are blown to pieces."
I get the feeling MANY Marines feel the need to invoke expletives when it comes to their gut reactions to hearing Harry Reid concede victory to our enemies.
