"And the ones NOT making it to the top 12 are...?"

First a word about the lousy "Insider Spies" that TMZ claims is attending the rehearsals before the finalists perform for the television show... you're terrible dude/dudette. Your "sneak peeks" for both the men's performances, as well as the ladies... we're just... in a word...

Awful!

Now from my - completely NOT as an "insider spy" perspective here's what I think is going to happen. First the easy part - Kady Malloy and Luke Menard are toast, they've each had three of the most forgettable performances ever in American Idol history since they were put through to the top 24. Katy and Luke have both looked great on camera - it's just when they open their mouths and sing the weird songs they've chosen - they did not show the watching audience what it needed. Katy was very honest in her interview with Ryan last night - she SHOULD have been eliminated last week because Alaina sang circles around her. Anyway Luke and Katy ciao...

Now... the tougher call. My preference would be Danny Noriega. But as rotten as thought his performance/act/everything was this week, the science of the busy signal seems to indicate that David Hernandez will be the one who gets the ax. Either way AI gets rid of one of the two embarrassments that they've been forced to deal with. Getting rid of a stripper, or a Jessica Alba look alike who hopes that "Santa rapes your mom," pretty much either one of them is a win for AI's PR department.

Now the toughest call. Most deserving is probably Kristy Lee Cook, just based on her overall series of performances, but last night she took a favorite 80's hit and twang'd it country enough to give it a spark of originality - the judges liked so we'll see. If I was a betting man though - the money would be on the exit of Asia'h Epperson. The song was too big for her, and too many other girls had good nights - I feel - for her to survive.

For what its worth I'm 2-6 on predictions this year. One year ago at this time I was 8-0. The whole Amanda Overmyer popularity has me somewhat puzzled this year I must admit and it has thrown me a curve, we'll see how long it lasts.

Add your picks in comments below - be interesting to see how it all pans out.
