Why I vote for McCain
Because if someone in the republican party is ruthlessly bashed by the far right like this blogger and many of the columnists in this website, she/he must be the right candidate. She/he must be doing the right thing.

Leadership is the ability and willingness to reach out to others who are different from you, not to constantly build antagonistic view about others. If the US president is a president for a republican party, what the heck is he going to achieved? About 55% of the nation are not republicans.

John McCain has shown the willingness and ability to work with others from different political spectrum, and this apparently a cardinal sin for this blogger and many columnists in this website. While his collaboration with democrats in some instances are not always right, it does not make him a liberal.

McCain flip flops more then Romney!
1) ANWR drilling - McCain voted Yes in 2000, to preserve budget for ANWR oil drilling.
- FLIP FLOP -
Then he voted against drilling in ANWR 4 times (2002, 2003 twice, and 2005), even on national security grounds. At least when Mitt Flips, he flips in our direction.

2) ABORTION - McCain in 2000 said he would not overturn Roe v. Wade, "In the short term or the long term."
-FLIP FLOP-
In 2007, he's in favor (like Mitt) over overturning Roe v. Wade. NOTE: McCain's been very consistent in supporting stem cell research. Nice to know he's creating the aborted baby demand while against aborting babies.

3) 2nd Amendment - Back in 1999, McCain supported a ban on certain assault weapons, a ban on cheap guns; required safety locks for gun show checks. Saw guns as a "problem" along with violent video games.
-FLIP FLOP-
Now in 2007, opposes any ban on assault weapons and ammo. I'm not making this up.

4) Expanded Health Insurance - McCain in 1999: Expand health insurance to 11 million uninsured children.
-FLIP FLOP-
Now: Opposes universal Health Care.

5) McCain the Hawk - In 1999: Voted YES to round after round of military base closures, and stance was to use force only for America's vital interests.
-FLIP FLOP-
2006: Fully supports Bush Doctrine of preemptive war.

6) Amnesty - McCain Lie: "I never supported Amnesty" (Jan 2006.) FactCheck: Yes, he has, and even explicitly used the word "amnesty" in the past. (May 2007) P.S. McCain also wanted to change the rules barring immigrants from running for President. (May 2007)

7) McCain's grasp of the Economy - FactCheck: Said--then denied--he needed economics education. (Jan 2008)

You McCain supporters are willfully blind.

I could vote for McCain
If he was tough on the border issue as he is the war on terror.Think about it. He's for going into other countries and chasing Bin Laden through the gates of hell but is willing to let people just walk across the border and declare themselves legal residents.Doesn't the Constitution say something about the military should be used in protecting OUR borders from invasion? Isn't there a moral imperative to keep drugs out of this country to protect our kids? Isn't there a moral imperative to protect our taxpayers, citizens and business from the ravages of illegal immigration? Hasn't there been more US citizens killed by illegals than have been lost in the war in Iraq (according to Boortz)?

People are so obsessed with fear over Hillary being president that they are voting for someone who will sell our borders out. Wouldn't we be better off with someone on the stage against Hillbama that will argue conservative principles across the board?

Best of luck today Mitt!!

Romney lies and your gun rights die
Mitt likes to tell different stories on how he will protect your second amendment rights to one audience and will then say he will ban guns to a different audience.

Instapundit Glenn Reynolds concludes...Mitt is not sincere! http://race42008.com/2008/02/03/romney-flips-on-guns/ The NRA says Mitt Romney is dishonest.

Jim Geraghty the Indispensable notices that too. http://campaignspot.nationalreview.com/post/?q=MTI1NmU2OGR jZjFkZjZjYzZkMDgwOWFlOGUwMzNmOWE=

The Anchoress on Unfair McCain Attacks
I’ve been writing for the past few days about my complete disillusionment with the far-right and their finger-wagging, hyperventilation that Republicans and “true” conservatives must vote for Mitt Romney, for no other reason, apparently than because he is not John McCain.

There has been some really shameful demagoguery against McCain from people who ordinarily would show some respect for a man who spent 6 years in a VietCong POW camp, too, which to my way of thinking says many more negative things about the sign-holders and aspersion-casters than it does about McCain.

UPDATE: Here is an except from the link below - the statement of a fellow POW of McCain’s who does not support him politically:

A friend, whom I know to be reliable, was across the hall and one door down, from McCain’s cell when McCain was first captured. He has told me that he saw Communist officers enter the cell where the wounded John McCain lay, incapacitated. He heard them offer McCain early release and heard John answer that he would go home when we all go home. He heard the voices of the officers rising until they were shouting angrily at McCain and threatening him. This was followed by screams of agony from John McCain, and a stream of obscenities from him. He could not see what they did to him and I never heard from John McCain what it was. This does not sound like a collaborator.

The man has a son in Iraq and one at Annapolis - he is undoubtedly a Patriot. To call him a “Benedict Arnold” as these people do is disgusting and out -of-line. It is, more than anything, what I find disturbing about the excesses of the far-right.

All of you McCaniancs need to enroll in some logic, statistics, and quantitative research classes.

Somehow you think that being a POW for about 6 years, nearly 40 years ago qualifies one to be president......

Yeah, president of a retirement community in Florida! ROTFLMAO!

Vote for Mitt Romney today!
Mitt has shown what he is made of. He is the ONLY conservative in this race and the only one who will stand up for our values as conservatives. John McCain has shown also what he is made of and no TV ad is going to change that. How many of you found his ad actually offensive when he used Reagan's picture and touts himself as a conservative? I steamed me because saying it is so doesn't make it so. His actions scream otherwise and the ad shows what a hypocrite he really is. I think David Limbaugh is so right on, I bet McCain doesn't even like the word, conservative. Mrs. McCain is also not first lady material either. Vote for Mitt and Ann today!
spudmomof6 writes: Tuesday, February, 05, 2008 9:59 AM
Do we know anything about Mrs. McCain?
I have been wondering lately; Does John ever let his wife speak at his rallies? All I ever see is her perfectly made up face with a perfect smile in the background. Has the heiress helped contribute to John's election? The only statement I have seen attributed to her is that she has some type of revenge list of the people who wronged John in the 2000 campaign.

I also wondered why the media hasn't gotten an interview with the previous Mrs. McCain. Oh, I bet they are waiting to spring that on the electorate AFTER Napoleon John wins the nomination.

The over the top attacks of McCain are disgraceful. Anyone who does this is no better than those individuals who attack Mitt's faith and the LDS Church. I know many of you do not do this (you just support Mitt and is ok to support your candidate), but some of you do cross this line and should be ashamed of yourselves. It needs to stop.

Romney lies and your gun rights die
Sometimes a candidate gets a little too much grief for misspeaking. The first time Mitt Romney said he was endorsed by the NRA in his gubernatorial run, he was wrong; the NRA rated him a “B,” which is not bad. (His Democratic opponent was an “A,” surprisingly. The NRA did not endorse in that race.) Apparently some NRA folk did some phone-banking for him, and Romney mistook that for an endorsement, and I guess I can see how that mistake could be made. The key is to note that he was told of his mistake back in December.

And then, in an interview a few days ago with Glenn Reynolds, the Instapundit, Romney claimed to be endorsed by the NRA again.

When it happens multiple times, one begins to wonder if Romney just wants to assert the endorsement and hopes that the person he’s speaking to doesn’t hear the correction.

Glenn comes across to me as a particularly fair-minded interviewer, but after Race42008 demonstrates a couple of different positions in a short span of time — telling Tim Russert he would sign the Assault Weapons Ban, telling Glenn and Helen that he would oppose it — Glenn concludes, “I’m beginning to question his sincerity.”

When Glenn Reyonolds questions Mitt's "sincerity" on gun rights, you know Mitt is in trouble. Jim Geraghty the Indispensable and Professor Bainbridge have the dope on Mitt Romney's recent 2nd Amendment flip flops.

McCullough,
I see you have joined the Rombots now. Instead of telling voters why your candidate deserves there vote, you try to destroy the character and integrity of his opponents. Very typical of Romney and his supporters.

I guess when your candidate's record is unsupportable the natural thing to do and try to get him elected is to make the other candidates look worse than your guy.

Contrary to the Rombots beliefs, it is Romney's liberal record that is being rejected, not his Mormon faith.

Rasmussen: McCain rising, Romney dying
This is expected to be a very good day for John McCain who is likely to end the night with a substantial lead in the race for convention delegates. Data from Rasmussen Markets on Tuesday morning shows McCain with an 89% chance of winning the nomination (current prices: McCain 87.5%). Market data on Tuesday morning also shows that McCain is expected to win twelve states today while Mitt Romney is favored in six (see current expectations). Romney and his team will probably be facing hard choices either this evening or early tomorrow morning...

In the race for the Republican Presidential Nomination, it’s John McCain at 34%, Mitt Romney at 30%, and Mike Huckabee at 20%.

compared Huckabee and his followers to Jim Jones and his followers of Georgetown, Guyana the mass suicide kool-aid drinkers cult.

That kind of scurrilous attack is indicative of the characters of Romney and his supporters. If you are like that, vote for Romney. I am confident that most people have a greater sense of human decency than Romney and his Rombots.

Petrovian, Democrats do not
want to "work with" those that are truly Conservative. They want to silence and vanquish them. McCain simply surrenders our values and positions on any given issue and for his trouble is fawned over by the MSM and lauded as "brave". Yes, he was a POW 35 years ago. But like Max Cleland, that should not entitle him to a lifetime Senate job and ultimately the Presidency.
