Sean Hannity
Kevin, I am happy you brought up Sean, because I have been wanting to vent about him. All this time on his radio show he has been saying that he will support whoever the Republican candidate turns out to be. Now that it looks like it is McCain, he has endorsed Romney. What a hypocrite!!! I am no McCain fan, but I am a supporter of sticking by your word and Hannity didn't do that. Also, he has indicated that he believes Huckabee should drop out so that Romney can have his votes. Well, on that basis you could argue that Romney should drop out and let Huck have his votes. I can barely stand to listen to Sean anymore.

I love your blog, Kevin. Keep up the good work.

Too many good conservatives
Romney, Huckabee, Thompson, Tancredo, Hunter split the conservative vote.
Once Guiliani dropped, McCain got the spoils.

Had there only been one of the above conservatives running - they would be the nominee.

The cards fell right for McCain.

For most conservatives - McCain would be the sixth choice in the list above.

Unfortunately, conservatives are not the only ones voting.

Rush not a Social Conservative!
Since talkshow hosts have piled on Mc and argued that he is not a conservative. I think we should judge them back with the same standard. Rush has failed to stay married. Social conservatives support men who are married to one wife and preferably for a long time (Like Mitt and Anne). Also, Rush was found guilty of using illegal drugs (pain killers) by sending his maid to buy them. Social conservatives support the rule of law and this illegal use of drugs by Rush makes him completely out of step with social conservatives, like Bill Clinton did when he lied under oath. Rush does not have children. Social conservatives prefer to society where adults get married and have children because statistics show that these are the most productive people in society. Rush does not have the credibility to represent this demographic of voters because he does not have children. Finally, Rush is overweight indicating he lacks self control with food. Social conservatives prefer to be healthy by eating healthy and exercising (like Mitt, Huckabee, Bush). Any person who listens to and supports Rush can not be described as a social conservative because his values do not reflect those values of social conservatives in America. In fact, Rush's social life is closely aligned with people who are liberal and who do not support marriage and traditional values in the USA. IF YOU THINK IS IS A FAIR ASSESSMENT OF RUSH AND A FAIR CONCLUSION ABOUT HIS LISTENERS THEN JUDGE MCCAIN BY THE SAME STANDARD. Otherwise, grow up and make an adult decision to vote for McCain because while we disagree on some issues, he is still a conservative republican on taxes, life and defense. And on any given day his presidency can not be made to sound similar to that of Hillary or Obama's.

Sarah, your a ham-fisted twit.
Just as I predicted
...All the pundits and posters are piling on, pressuring, lecturing, fear-mongering. "If you don't get behind the party, Abortion will be legal for 100 more years. Universal Healthcare will bankrupt us." "Grow up and do what I say". An on an on.

The sky is falling. It's as if the country never had a democrat for a president before.

The one voice that has a merest chance, to turn this around, is McCain.

He has within his power to say, for instance, "I promise my first act when I become president will be the signing of an executive order to build a fence along the border." "I swear to appoint constructionist judges in the vein of ALITO and Roberts, and abortion will be a litmus." "I affirm I will select for cabinet / advisors people like xxx [fill in the blank, with unimpeachable conservative experts] to address Enery Policy, Econony, and the scientific veracity of climate change."

Short of acts of contrition like these, I will have no reason, NO REASON, to change my stance and support him in the Fall.

McCain, it's up to you. You want to unite the party, let's see if you can somehow change a decade of betrayal, back-stabbing and BS additude towards YOUR base.

Until he makes a move, the rest of you cajoling / pleading / bullying / scolding for the disaffected to "get in line" can go SUCK it.

I don't blame Huck...
I simply blame those who were dumb enough to vote for him.

It was obvious that Huck didn't have a prayer of winning the nomination...even before last night. Now its even more obvious.

For anyone who thinks otherwise - do the math. Calculate how many more delegates (of the remaining 1,008 left) Huck needs to win in order to reach 1,191. (According to CNN, he currently has 176.)

I'm not blaming the all Huck supporters for the pickle we are in - just those who would have picked Romney over McCain. (You know...the more conservative group of Huck supporters...ones who want a federal marriage amendment, ones who want lower taxes and smaller government, ones who oppose stem cell research, ones who want something to be done about high gas prices, secure borders, and illegal immigration.)

McCain is to the left on a lot of issues...(global warming, taxes, ANWR, federal marriage amendment, immigration...to name a few) which is why he will have trouble getting the conservatives to vote for him in November.

I don't believe for a second that true conservatives want the McCain kind of record in a GOP presidential nominee...if that record bothers you, and if you voted for Huckabee on Super Tuesday...it is your fault that the conservatives lost to McCain. You threw your vote away on someone like Huckabee (who didn't have a prayer of winning before Feb 5...and who still doesn't have a prayer of winning - even after a glorious Feb 5 performance that blew away the expectations of all.)

Huckabee supporters didn't turn this into a three-man race - they turned it into a one-man race. Huck isn't the one to be blamed - its the voters.

I don't want to be a
CONSPIRACY theorist, but maybe a higher power is trying to teach those who are biggoted against Romney for his faith, a lesson. The big tornados happended to hit the states that went to Hucklebee right after the polls were counted. Coincidence or lesson for the future? A college that teaches anti-Mormon rhetoric as part of their curriculum and a Baptist Church that also teaches anti-Mormon slander. Perhaps just a coincidence, but give it some thought.

Hucklebee supporters
would not necessarily move over to Romney. They are more afraid of a 'Mormon' in the Whitehouse than a Liberal. The vehemence of the Southern Baptists (say it like it is) against a Mormon is very VERY strong. That brand of heebee jeebee save me Jesus wackos doesn't have room to understand anything other than "Mormons are cultists and the boogey-man is in my closet" rhetoric. They would not change their vote for Romney because they have been raised with rattlesnakes, inbred marriages, and preachers who love money more than God, theories that will not allow their fears to vote for Romney. Listen to the "I would never vote for a Mormon" lingo that comes from that area of religious expertise. You must realize also that these same folks would never vote for a Black Man, a Jew, or perhaps even a Catholic. Oh sorry, I may be getting the Southern Baptists confused with the KKK... or am I speaking about different groups. Get over your Biggotry against Mormons and listen to Dr. Dobson and the rest of the true evangelical open minded thinkers that know Hucklebee NEVER had a chance and wouldn't vote for him if they thought he did.
