If the comment section on my syndicated column this morning is already any indication, a lot of people are going to have a lot to say about my claim that it is actually, Christian-Conservatives and not Secular Liberals that care the most about Gay Porn Stars and their futures...

Sanchez isn't a gay porn star anymore. Conservatives never cared for him when he was a gay porn star, and they don't care for any current gay porn stars. |
|
Dave, you may wanna read the entire article before jumping to conclusions. You disagree with the premise? You think Christian conservatives care less about the future that person has than a secular progressive liberal cares?
Really?
That's what you think?
Did you even read the article? |

I read your column and MM's and his web. I am surprised at the bitterness and stupidity of some of the posters on the other thread. The point is lost on any liberal,in my opinion. Sanchez talks about the venom his former party heaps upon him. Denial is a good thing for a liberal. It's the only thing that allows them to sleep at night. |

First, as a gay male, I have never seen gay porn, and I don't care about gay porn. I can't believe your suggestion that somehow gay people (specifically bloggers) are rabid viewers of porn. I am not, and the people around me are not. I could care less about porn.
Second, from all evidence, Sanchez is still having gay sex. He has been identified in two cruising sites (which again, as a gay person I have never been to) even looking less than 2 weeks ago about hooling up. So you have two parts of your column that are faulty. |

What about all the straight porn stars and the millions of straight American men and women who are not only obsessed with the stuff, but who are employed in the field? You make it sound as if gay people have a monopoly on the porn industry when that is most definitely not the case -
I know straight and gay people who engage in a little bit of porn, I know straight and gay people who view ALOT of porn, and I know straight and gay people who watch no porn. There are Christians who are not conservative, but are just as concerned about the effects of porn on a person's life - but you're too biased to see that.
Why don't you turn your efforts onto the Hooter's corporations of the world - get straight porn in line and its purveyors in line. |

Sure, you Republicans care about the gays. As long as they are faithful GOPers, you people have no problem with 'em at all!
Let's see......
Mary Cheney, Ken Mehlman, Matt Drudge, Or Rep. Foley." Or, my personal favorite: Rick man-on-dog Santorum's PR man, Robert Traynham.
You Republicans will forgive ANYTHING as long as your rank and file spew the party line!

Elisabeth, as I recall, is the lady extoling the "virtues" of same-sex (hyjacking) marriage, a few months ago, on this blog comments area, right here.
Sorry, if you are not the same person Elis, but I do recall it was you.
I do believe she was going on, fondly, and with great affection, about the gay agenda, and how having an "open-mind" about homosexuals wanting to "marry" was really an enlightening and educational thing..
for her Grandchildren..
I also remember being shocked, and dismayed, that an older person who sounded like they were a voice of some accomplishment, and experience, could come off as completely in the dark-in my humble opinion-about such things..
I recall this lady's views being more Liberal, although she shared that she was a Christian..
Now any Christian worth their salts knows that most Republicans, and the Conservative issues they champion, and fight for, are not even topics on the table, or concern, for most Democrats.
In fact, the Democrats, today, are about as close to bonefied Socialists, Communists, what have you, as any other political party there is. (Outside of obviously vocal self-identified Socialists..)
This said, there is much to be said for the saying: "Consider the source".
While many older people speak, in some ways, as a voice of some experience, unless the background and insights line up with a Biblical perspective, we are not talking about a view that is a truly Christian one, in the full sense of the word.
Not an attack on any one person, or about an individual here. Just an observation.
Perhaps I am tired of hearing, and seeing, the loud voice of Liberalism, translated, over time, from hippies, to Yuppies, to this.
Politicized grandmas, who are missing the mark, when it comes to moral clarity about these issues with their kin.
And a person doing that, and saying, they are Christian is kind of confusing to me, and only seems to make it worse..
