2pm:
When we live under false guilt today, we "feel guilty" about something we did or didn't do because we lack moral clarity. A Long Island Dad of 54 gets sent to prison for second-degree manslaughter. A woman who had previously withheld a guilty verdict says she sobbed as she drove home from after changing her vote from not guilty. But what does the evidence say? What were the facts? I expected the New York Post to run the emotional headline. But this woman's guilt is hurting her needlessly. 800.345.WMCA.
3pm:
When teacher's cross the line of public trust, sharp, quick, and immediate action needs to be taken to nip it in the bud...because it only gets worse next time. Leading up to the Christmas break the biology teachers Ms. Vogel and Ms. Lomotta at Northern Highlands Regional H.S. (201.327.8700) decided to show a graphically homosexual film over the course of several days. Following the viewing of the film they asked the students aged 16 to respond to survey questions such as "What was the most emotional part of the film to you?" No parental notification was sent home, no permission slip/opt out option was given to the parents. In describing the circumstances of the situation to me the parents of one student felt a little overwhelmed. Yet they owe it to society to call these teachers on this... don't they? 800.345.WMCA.

The based-on-a-true-story and Academy Award-winning movie "Philadelphia" is "graphically homosexual"? That's news to me. Of course, to KM, two gay men in the same room is "graphic", so I should cut him a little slack.
BTW, according to imdb.com, it's rated PG-13, not R.

What film? Why not tell us the title?
If it is indeed "Philadelphia," then bravo to the teachers who showed it.
Hanks and Denzel are both brilliant in it. And unless you have some other version than the one I saw in the theater years ago, there is nothing graphic in one single frame. I don't even remember so much as a -- gasp! -- kiss.
Like "Schindler's List" and "Laramie Project," it should be mandatory viewing for all high schoolers.
PS: Thanks for the teachers' phone number. I plan to call and congratulate them! |

"Still waiting for the evidence that Soros and MoveOn are directly financing Ron Paul's campaign, crackpot."
Judging by KMC's reply above I take that as a "no, I won't produce the evidence for my accusation", which is his way saying "I made it up."

"How about this, crackpot: you stop trying to smear Ron Paul with lies and I won't have to show you up with facts."
You know what's funny is that I didn't even pay any attention to this blog until I saw all those lies and cheap shots directed against Paul. I now make it a point to look over here for this blog truly is "lies and smears are us". |
