Huck in Kigali
A REAL "man of the people..."

Mike Huckabee just wrapped his address at CPAC. One that was his normal folksy self. But the implications of his ideas were a sharply annotated brilliant division from the now $4,850,000,000,000 spending of the Obama administration. Sure it was some red meat for the packed-house at CPAC, but it was still significant.

One of my facebook friends then took me to task on the page over Huck's conservative credentials and his ability to do what no one expects him to do.

This was my crux of the argument that I served up to my friend. This particular friend being a huge supporter of Hugh Hewitt and of Townhall.com.
Huck has done nothing but continue to build his brand and platform since the election... He has STRENGTHENED his very close roots to evangelicals... He's explaining the challenges of issues every week on Fox News (brilliant move.) And he's writing books on his views on the issues and the future.

He's willing to break it down to the terms of every day man and woman sort of language. AND he has the strongest standing of any prominent GOP personalities with church going Black and Hispanic voters...

He is going to be a FORMIDABLE force in the election.

And I was the first pundit in America to predict that Obama would be President - calling it in December of 2006. (Ask Hugh about my history on Obama and predictions. I was the one who first introduced Hugh to Obama.)

Huck still needs some refining...

But he is working harder, right now, at the moment, in the most holistic way possible to gain a very tight relationship with the base. (Which was a HUGE deficit for McCain until Palin!)
It sounds arrogant but it's not intended to be. I WAS right on Obama. I didn't WANT to be.

I'm not settled on whether he wins the nomination at this moment. But I'm telling you he's doing everything EXACTLY right to win it.

And he's working harder than any of the other also rans to impact the mood, reach, and feedback of the nation...

Even if you hated him... you have to give him kudos for laying the groundwork, and earning his keep!
