How many will die this time at his hands?

Has anyone else been haunted by the fact that Mayor Ray Nagin is still in power as Mayor of New Orleans?

With Gustav chasing him and his cronies down, his crooked corrupt cohorts that were caught hoarding the emergency supplies in the Katrina aftermath still in tow you have to wonder how he will perform.

Of course he blamed Katrina all on Bush. And this after the Bush administration had repeatedly attempted to send help up to three days prior to Katrina's arrival.

Louisiana voters took care of their incompetent former Governor - electing Bobby Jindal - who has notably worked COOPERATIVELY with the feds this time around - but that doesn't change the scenario in New Orleans. There - the insane voters re-elected Nagin (likely through strong-arm tactics and outright cheating) even though he was personally responsible for the deaths of 1300 people in Katrina's wake.

The New Orleans Evacuation Emergency Plan which was put into place long before Nagin came to power states that the mayor and his staff shall use every public vehicle available to rescue and evacuate citizens who can not get out otherwise.

Mayor Nagin had 2000 school buses that remained locked prior to Katrina's arrival and once the levies began to break they were rendered useless.

Slightly more than 1300 people died, 2000 buses unused and ruined by the floods.

Ray Nagin of course built his national standing through his racist, ugly, and untoward remarks about the National Guard who came in and finally began to help those the mayor couldn't, and he was launched into the inner circles of the "civil rights" communities for launching baseless, and patently false accusations against the President. Accusations that were later proven to be untrue when then Governor Blanco's e-mail archives were made public.

Our hearts and prayers are with the people of New Orleans, we pray that the people there are able to get out ahead of time. We even pray that the incompetent, criminal, and racist mayor will attempt to do what is right this time.

After all New Orleans doesn't deserve to lose another 1300 residents only because of one man's negligent, reckless, or criminal ignorance of the laws he is charged to enforce.

Give the man a chance
I was disgusted with Nagin's performance during Katrina. He deserved to go with Blanco. But he is there. It looks like Nagin gets it now and is moving to evacuate the City. Those who stay will be arrested if they leave their properties to engaged in any "self help" so to speak. Regardless of our feelings for Nagin personally, we should help him in his mission.

Obama played the "RACE CARD" AGAIN

King_gawd obama, card shark, played the race card today regarding LA in wake of storm:

He cannot win without playing that race card early and often:

He will play it until he wins:

I am sorry but I do not get the need by our national media to always blame the Bush administration for the Katrina disaster. It is my understanding that the local government (Nagin) and state government (Blanco) were responsible for the weak response. Of course those two idiots were Democrats - hence they got a free ride. I can see the headlines if Bush would have tried to interfere in their preparation to meet the storm..."Bush usurps power that belongs to local government"; "Big Brother interferes" etc.
Yes, Nagin seems to have gotten the message now finally. Blanco got what she deserved - the boot.

Nagin
The only reason he is still in power in the stupid people who re-elected him. I feel sorry for those with sense that voted against him.

All I need to know.
The Canadian Royal Mounted Police got to New Orleans before any US Federal Government did.

That means Dudley Do-right was more on the ball than George W. Bush.

End of discussion.

Congratulations!
At least this time, Kevin didn't even try to dispute the facts in my posting.

Goat - let no one misunderstand...
Your "facts" about mounted police are a joke.

The facts of the post still stand. Mayor Nagin is singularly responsible for the deaths of 1300 people from Katrina.

Deaths that were blamed wrongfully later on the feds.

The reason the feds were not allowed in earlier was because the Mayor and the Governor both told the feds to eff off.

To which after everyone realized that the Governor and the Mayor had no clue what they were doing, the feds rolled 'em and said step aside dummies - you're killing your people.

Goat you're consistent... dishonestly consistent, but consistent...
