Solidifies the base!

Today at 5:05pm EST I will join my former Salem Radio Colleague Paul Edwards in Detroit to discuss this historic ticket and why it truly is the silver bullet the Dems should most fear - you can listen live right here...

Here's Palin's wikipedia page.

Fred Barnes: "Eye-popping Integrity"

My thoughts: She shoots, fishes, and demands integrity in every way! She believes unborn children are persons - and she has embodied that belief. She's a loving mother of five, and as tough an executive as can be found. She competed in sports, beauty, commerce, and politics and has succeeded in every way possible!

Some of the most pro-life, pro-family views of anyone that could have been picked. If John McCain had needed help in rallying the base, while appealing to women, while adding executive experience and youth to the ticket... he couldn't have done any better.

Conservatives will be thrilled, liberals will hate it, and it will be a very tough road for Joe Biden as debates go because he will likely overplay his hand and look uncivil, untoward, and unAmerican.

In my new book, The Kind of Man Every Man Should Be, I describe the scenario by which MODERN feminism has destroyed men in this nation. And that's important to understand. Classic feminists - like me - from the 1920's, fought for EQUALITY. That means equal pay for work, the right to vote, to own property, to do business etc.. Modern feminists from the 1960's replaced EQUALITY with SAMENESS and in doing so brought about a faux feminism that laid the foundation for the debates on abortion, homosexuality, and deconstruction of the American man.

The new VP Nominee Sarah Palin is a classic feminist. She shoots guns and baskets, she has walked a runway, she served on the PTA, she has run a city and state, and now she is slated to become the next Vice President. She's a mother of five, one of whom is in Iraq the other of whom doctors pressured her to abort because of its disability. Sarah Palin is the kind of woman that the Kind of Man Every Man Should Be - would love to marry.

She doesn't seek to neuter him because he is strong - as is evidenced by her World Champion husband, and Presidential nominee - who is also a hero indeed!

UPDATE: Money is flowing... 12 individuals have already told me they will be sending checks to McCain and encouraging their friends to do the same!

very pleased
I am very pleased by this announcement. I predict that this may unbounce any Obama bounce after the DNC.

The exhuberance among the conservatives

and the Republicans is terrific. You can hear everyone coming together to elect McCain -- Palin

It would make me proud if America

elected a woman to the office of Vice President.

must be a small park
Two years ago, fresh from the PTA in her little town. And this was the party that thought "experience" was such an issue?

Still bouncing just fine over here in Dem land!

When does the special investigation into her misuse of power in Alaska conclude?

Judas you must realize that a Govenor is an executive, as well as a mayor. A Govenor is a CIC in her own right and maintains control of the state Nat'l Guard. Shes fought some tough and very brave fights while Obama has fought some very safe and unclear fights. For you to imply that her experience came from the PTA is completley insane!

Things are not good in DEM land, where that is Im not sure. Why can't you guys find a real nominee, maybe theres not one...

I don't know
The positive about Gov. Palin is that she has the right positions on conservative issues and is a tough on ethics reform, having taken on the Republican establishment in AK over this and won (and that in a state where Sen. Ted Stevens just won the Republican primary).

The negative is that she's only been governor for two years and before that, but for a short stint on Alaska's Oil & Gas Commission, was mayor and city manager of a town of less than 10,000 people and before that a TV sports reporter.

If John McCain were younger, I'd be more comfortable.
My Pet Goat writes: Friday, August, 29, 2008 2:30 PM
I like her!
She named two daughters after television witches, and smoked pot when it was legal in Alaska, and inhaled. She's also very gay-friendly.
Baby Karl writes: Friday, August, 29, 2008 2:44 PM
dubious
And Obama has how many years being a Chief Executive of anything?

She was a Mayor - then a Governor... She's got more Chief Exec experience than Biden and Obama combined...

My Pet Goat writes: Friday, August, 29, 2008 3:45 PM
Really?
“As for that VP talk all the time, I’ll tell you, I still can’t answer that question until somebody answers for me what is it exactly that the VP does every day?" - Sarah Palin, a month ago.

Yeah..... she's ready!
Baby Karl writes: Friday, August, 29, 2008 4:17 PM
Goat - all the handwringing that lefties
Like you are expressing...

Is all I need to know that McCain got it EXACTLY right.

Her Chief Exec experience is multiple times over what Obama/Biden have COMBINED!

Obama asked for a fight last night, McCain delivered the next of many blows this morning...

And now its on to what matters...

THE IDEAS and positions...

And let me point out - Sarah Palin had exactly the kind of pregnancy that Obama would've advised her to abort on, and if the child survived he would've placed it in a garbage bin and let it starve to death.

STRIKING differences are terrific... and the GOP just urped them all right in Obama's face...

McCain's Mutiny
To those concerned about the vital issues of today:

McCain wants change? He's chosen diaper change in the Whitehouse! McCain, in true Cain fashion, has stabbed his brothers in the back and may have destroyed the Republican Party. Lincoln, looking out from Mt. Rushmore, shed a tear at the selection of a female under the conditions of the present situation, conditions affecting both her and the nation.

McCain ought to have gone the full distance and chosen a black female! His pick was obviously made as an act of desperation; to pick a woman still breastfeeding was poor judgement. It was a foolish act and he will be seen as a fool. A man of sound judgement? He's shown he's a political cluck.

Bob Hougland

So who were you pulling for for Veep, or let me guess, you are really a leftist or for someone like Ron Paul?

Busy boy....
Andrew Sullivan (the only TURE Conservative in the Goldwater mold with any bandwidth and balls) has been a busy boy this afternoon.

1. Palin Liked Obama's Energy Plan as of 24 days ago.

http://64.233.167.104/search?q=cache:wbCGTUeD1r0J:www.gov.s tate.ak.us/news.php%3Fid%3D1384+palin,+obama,+energy&hl=en& ct=clnk&cd=4&gl=us

2. On the gays: Worth noting:
"Signing this bill would be in direct violation of my oath of office," Palin said in a prepared statement released by her administration Thursday night." Constitutional issues have not stopped other Christianists. I like her personally - a good deal.

3. Sister/ex brother in law mess: she fired the popular and beloved Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan becuase he refused to dismiss Alaska State Trooper Mike Wooten, her ex-brother-in-law of questionable character, and currently embroiled in a nasty custody battle with her younger sister. She said neither she nor any staff or family member pressured him to axe Wooten. But Monegan said she, her husband, and staff members did.

Otherwise, she sounds interesting: a Creationist who smoked pot, has gay friends and (according to my wife) a "hot" husband.

Is this a great country, or what?

republican's shame
As a patriot who loves my country above my party. I am ashamed to say that I am a republican today. That we can honestly say we support a vice presidential candidate that has NO EXPERIENCE to deal with the likes of Putin and Pakistan is frightening, not just for me, my children and grandchildren, but should be for every American.

Is this what elections have become? Theatrics and oneupmanship? We no longer care to elect what is best for America as a whole? Shame, Shame!

DESPERATION!
This really is hilarious. Obama with 14 years of experience in state and federal government was an empty suit but now this lady who has been governor for two years has "executive experience" ...Give me a break. Has she led the national guard into battle? Was there a war in Alaska I'm not aware of? Did she engage in international diplomacy as a beauty queen? She's not qualified to be the town dog-catcher.

Here's a mental exercise you might try out: Imagine that the Democrats nominated a governor no one has ever heard of who governs a state with a smaller population than many U.S. cities, and the only thing that her supporters can drum up is that she goes fishing and plays basketball. What would you think if the shoe was on the other foot? If you claim that you wouldn't be chiding the Democrats for a horrible choice of running mate then congratulations, you are so dishonest you can't even be truthful in a hypothetical situation.

Also hilarious is Kevin Mccullough's endorsement because... Are you ready for this? Palin gave birth! WOW! Skip the VP, make her president! She carried to term "the kind of pregnancy that Obama would've advised her to abort on" ...Right! Because Obama is just an ABORTING MANIAC! The only reason why he himself has children is because his wife tricked him into thinking she was just gaining some weight due to nervous overeating!

FYI, Kevin, Democrats actually do not go around strangling every baby they see and forcing mothers at gunpoint to have abortions. There are even some Democrats who have KIDS! It's true!
