There can be absolutely no dispute on this. Tonight's American Idol sing-off was over before it began. One of tonight's two contestants was number one every week of the top ten weeks except one - and the idol that knocked him out that week was Syesha - NOT the other David.

One of the two David's consistently took far MORE risks, made far fewer mistakes, and showed more originality than the rest of the idol finalists combined.

The one who should win did not have the best voice of the competition - that again belonged to Syesha Mercado. But the voice of the one who SHOULD win tonight is good enough to launch himself into the finals. When the furthest any previous idol got that had a similar style to him was bounced in the top 4. (It should also be noted that artist went on to outsell the top three finishers of his year... and to become on the most successful idol alums ever.)

There is NO competition one David is a "manageable", "controllable", kid with a good singing voice - and zero originality. The other is an artist who understands who he is and will likely flinch if producers try to tinker too much with what they "think" he should be.

Rumors emanated from the behind the scenes source in Idol-land all year that David Archuleta was being *pushed* as the winner by the producers. His father was managing his song choices and reportedly ripping in to him when he made mistakes. And honestly how much real life honesty can a 17 year old have about most of the stuff his lyrics dealt with all year.

David Cook exuded honesty, humility, and most of all originality. He had monster remakes of songs that he turned upside down - and made people love all over again... (i.e. "Billie Jean", "Hello").

David Cook has EARNED the title of American Idol. Archuleta was being "groomed" for it...

Don't do this America - pick the most American of the two, do the right thing.
