If only I had a dime for every stupid remark that was made by the NBC commentators over the last two weeks...
Overheard Sunday night on the Olympic coverage:
"...the song is the march of the volunteers. And it is easy estimate that there have been hundreds of thousands, perhaps over a million volunteers that have brought you this Olympic competition."
Uh NO Bob - coercing your fellow countrymen to work 16 hours a day seven days a week, while only paying them about $8000 a year - is not volunteerism.
It's called indentured servitude, and when you do it out of fear that you or one of your family members will be put into "hard" labor camp, or worse yet executed with nary a peep of what happened to them its called totalitarianism - or what we in the west call - China.
