You probably haven't heard a whole lot about another CPAC "scandal" from this year... but give the media time - as soon as they are done licking up the remnants of raw meat from the Coulter vs. Conservatives showdown they will be on to it.
And when they do pick it up expect another ravenous feeding of "conservative hypocrisy" and "religious right double standards" etc.
Michelle Malkin touched on the story in advance last weekend.
But today her counterpart, and a fellow evangelical, Bryan Preston has put together an oustanding post. Bryan highlights why tolerance seems to be oh so hip when liberals are forgiving the sins of fellow liberals.
Allow that person to actually be a person of faith, belief, substance or principle - and forgiveness shows up no where on the radar screen.
MOST IMPORTANTLY Bryan points us all to the pertinent reality that the biblical text reminds us of - we are all born sinners. Some of us the most vile of vile.
It is for this reason that we need mercy and grace from the all powerful God who created us, because in our own efforts we could never bridge the divide between our depravity and God's standard of righteousness.
It took nothing less than the perfect God to ascribe to us his perfect righteousness, and that only happens through the admission of our imperfection as sinners.
If you missed it - read Bryan's entire piece. Then live your life in it's reality!
