"You bet your life it was..."

Tanc's out, acknowledges Mitt's record on fighting driver's licenses for illegals in his state, and says his endorsement of the Mittster "absolutely" has much to do with the rise of the Huck - and by comparison his lax history on issues regarding illegal aliens.

Remember: I've not endorsed anyone - nor will I. But this has to be a much more subtance-heavy legit endorsement than Gilchrist for Huck. No question Mitt wins BIG on this one. Tanc is the reason any of the others even admit to thinking about immigration right now...

Sidebar:
So Mitt's cabinet is shaping up nicely...
  *Duncan Hunter, Vice President
*Tom Tancredo, Secretary of Dept of Homeland Security
*Hugh Hewitt, Secretary of the Press

Along those lines
how about John Bolton as SecState?

Rudy as AG?

I like Hunter as VP as well if he doesn't get the nod.

Frank Gaffney as Natl Security Advisor.
JeFtFotF writes: Thursday, December, 20, 2007 4:44 PM
And
David Petraeus as SecDef.

I love the Hewitt position...how appropriate. I've been thinking about those cabinet positions too. I would rather have seen Tanc endorse Thompson, but Mitt must have gotten to him first.
TriciaCT writes: Thursday, December, 20, 2007 6:30 PM
Tancredo just being a realist--
neither Thompson nor his campaign have the energy or momentum for him to be the nominee.

p.s. Since Thompson is the father of 2 young children, he should devote this crucial time of their lives to being their father, rather than giving them short shrift.

I think the promise Mitt made was to be tougher on illegal immigration than Huckabee.

Now thats a promise.

Kevin, a question
Have you read Ann Coulter's latest article, "There's a Huckabee Born Every Minute", on her website http://www.anncoulter.com? I really am liking Huckabee, but there are some things she says about him that disturb me. I am aware that she is a strong supporter of Duncan Hunter, so of course she would find fault with other candidates. She says that Huckabee says sodomy is a constitutional right, and she says he is not strong enough in fighting evolution being taught in schools. Could you, Kevin, offer some objective insight since you have not endorsed a candidate? I would appreciate it. Forgive me if I did not post this in the right place, but I wasn't sure where to put this question.

Kitty -I'm not KM but I've got soem info
See this site:

It is easy to like Ann when she is flailing away at libs. But when she turns on someone who is pretty conservative - that's a little of "a house divided" mentality.
Con4fred writes: Thursday, December, 20, 2007 9:41 PM
What?
Huckabee is a RINO!

Ann has every right to trash him, as he would only weaken the GOP further than it is now.
Con4fred writes: Thursday, December, 20, 2007 9:42 PM
Almost forgot
Mitts a RINO too!
keepinitreal writes: Thursday, December, 20, 2007 9:56 PM
I like Ann and all but...
don't trust her here. Huckabee supports the Federal Marriage Amendment and as somebody already pointed out Huckabee agrees with Justices Scalia, Thomas, and Rehnquist on the issue.
Delcy writes: Thursday, December, 20, 2007 10:42 PM
Mitt's VP
I hope that consideration will be given to Mike Steele of Maryland as a running mate. He too is young, neat and articulate.

Mitt's Blogger of Defense
Kevin, I am a townhall blogger and have written many supportive articles about Mitt Romney, Mormons, and religious tolerance. I also happen to be a fan of yours. I loved your "live blogging" post of the Values Voter Summit, and referenced it in my post called "Mitt: "I Will Be A Pro-Life President!"
Click http://conservativewordsmith.townhall.com/g/d1d1ad77-10d0- 4c10-b43c-5ae689c4b02e

I wonder if you would mind if I were to add The Conservative Wordsmith to your list of Mitt's cabinet members. This could be a brand new position called Blogger of Defense for the Department of Religious Tolerance. Please see my brand new post, "Tancredo Quits '08 Race, Endorses Romney." coulter caught in a deception
Coulter caught in a deception trying to make Huck look as though he favors gay marriage:

check this out:

Coulter wrote today:

"Huckabee claims he opposes gay marriage and says Scalia is his favorite justice, but he supports a Supreme Court decision denounced by Scalia for paving the way to a "constitutional right" to gay marriage. I guess Huckabee is one of those pro-sodomy, pro-gay marriage, pro-evolution evangelical Christians. "

====To allwho read ann's article:

The Hardwick case that ann is talking about was an appeal to the supreme of the United States by a man named Michael Hardwick who was sentenced to jail in Georgia for having gay sex ("sodomy")

see: http://www.sodomylaws.org/usa/georgia/gaeditorail12.htm

The state of Georgia, had a sodomy law on the books allowing gays to be jailed for having gay sex. But, when Michael Hardwick appealed to the US Supreme Court, they overturned the Georgia sodomy law permitting Hardwick to be sentenced to jail for consensual sex with an adult.

Huckabee agreed with The US Supreme that adult gays should not be jailed for having sex with another adult-even though he believes it is immoral.
. But that case had nothing to do with "gay Marriage", which was not even an issue
21 years ago, (back in 1986) when this case was decided

But, now ann is sadly misrepresenting this very old 1986 case to make it sound like Huck was for "gay Marriage"- which wasn’t even at issue in this case (or anywhere else) when this US Supreme Court case was decided way back in 1986.

But if any of you want to read about this case and decide for yourself if it's really about "Gay Marriage" go here:

Whose Cabinet?
I hate to burst bubbles here, but there's not going to be any Romney cabinet because he isnt going to be president.

Or else all of Hugh's hard work will have been for nothing.
