Did you wake up this morning, and not think about it? Has it seemed so long ago that the day itself isn't that memorable? This is the first time I've awakened in Washington DC on this day, and it seems remarkably - normal. (Usually I'm in New York where the bells toll, the names are read and we at least take time to remember on this day.)

CNN didn't even carry the Pentagon dedication memorial service this morning where 15,000 people remembered. Do those running for office wish us to forget this day? At least one of them! From the other in his snide, elitist, tone of voice he tells us that we must negotiate with people who promise more destruction like this against us and our allies?

Are we really able to ever move beyond the deep felt shock of that morning? Will we ever be able to return to a place where waking up on this day CAN feel like any other?

Did you forget about today? The names of those who jumped out of windows 100 floors up because of the hellish alternative to remain where they were?

Did you forget about those men and women who went in, as the rest of everyone else - was heading out? Those who climbed stairs, only to have buildings collapse upon them?

Did you forget about my friend Barbara who stayed behind one extra night in Washington to wish her man Ted a happy birthday, only to ring his cell the next morning to tell him goodbye - as the connection went dark?

Did you forget about the ones we should never forget, those who were the very first who began to fight back, as they spared more lost lives by taking back control from the evil men who had planned their destruction?

Did we forget about today, in our complacency?

I couldn't... so watch, remember... never forget... and then let's roll!
