Electing Obama would be a serious mistake and blow for true conservatives. McCain may not be the perfect conservative, but at least he is conservative. Obama is anything but. Do not make the mistake of thinking conservatives win by losing. They only lose by losing. |

Er, isn't that the point of abortion? That the baby doesn't survive? As much as you're trying to conjure the image of Obama ripping babies out of their mothers' arms and throwing them into a woodchipper, I don't think anyone is going to be appalled by this non-issue. The pro-life movement must REALLY be hitting a brick wall these days if they're reaching for this red-headed stepchild of the actual issue. Who are these doctors who are so incompetent that they can't even perform abortions properly anyway? That's the real issue! They shouldn't be practicing medicine if they can't even do that right! |

"That the baby doesn't survive?"
You are a scary person.
You admit it is a baby, and then say the real problem is doctors who are incompetant.
What is the difference between killing the baby in the womb or out of the womb or putting it in a woodchipper? Nothing! Death occurs.
No human being should stand to allow this practice to continue at any point, a baby is a baby is a bay.
Abortion is an abomination to humanity.
Only a sick, twisted mind condones this sort of behavior. |

"This time it's personal."
Now Kevin is borrowing tag lines from Jaws III.
This only matters if -- and only if -- abortion and other social issues are in the fore front of voter's minds.
Find me ONE poll that says the average American voter is focused on abortion, gays, religion or any other social issues. You will not find it.
Barring an unforseen "liberation" of Georgia, this election will be about the economy -- or, if the GOP hate machine is as good as they were in the past, a referendem on Obama. |
|
This practice is so heinous that Boxer, Feinstein, Clinton, and NARAL all supported the ban on the procedure.
Thus isolating Obama as still the only elected official in the U S Senate who voted in favor of denying life saving medical care to born children.

The very fact that our legislators are debating whether or not medical assistance ought to be given to a baby that survives its own attempted MURDER proves the point that we have all but lost our moral compass. This"non-issue" is kind of reminiscent of the Reichstag debating whether to gas Jews or Christians or Gypsies first. It is an abomination so inherently unjust as to defy reason that it is an acceptable practice condoned by law. Twomay, obviously you've never seen a filmed abortion. Copy paste this http://m.youtube.com/details?v=XalD8LBNz0M&client=mv-googl e&locale=en_US&warned=1
If you can watch such a thing and feel nothing except comtempt for those of us trying to give these babies a chance at life - the same chance your parents gave you - then you must be a cold, cold hearted person. |

After my posting, I decided to search for a poll that would show what issues the voters care about.
As I suspected, abortion, etc., can't be found.

discussing the importance of abortion to the electorate? |
|
That's the number of these abortions that end with a living (temporarily) baby. I don't know how many of these abortions are performed, or how the baby is supposed to be killed.
I do know that anyone sticking up for this practice should not be allowed anywhere near elected office, especially POTUS where he can appoint judges of like mind. |

This issue will never be settled. Since Roe, the polls have all said basically the same thing: most Americans don't like it and don't want to think about it. But, most Americans do it want it to be safe and legal. |
