I've been asked to comment much lately on the worsening poll numbers. In fact on Fox News last week Dr. Marc Lamont Hill and I got into what kind of effect Obama's performance at his self requested press conference was going to have on his present standing.
I predicted at the time that it would worsen his standing somewhere 2-5%.
On the day of his press conference his passion index (strongly approve/strongly disapprove) was around -5%. As of this morning,
with the first round of completed numbers being reported since the presser his passion index is around -9%. 30% strongly approve, 39% strongly disapprove.
His generic approval numbers aren't any better news for the O'ministration either: 49% now approve of the President's job overall, 51% disapprove.
Also of note: 53% disapprove of Congressional Health Care reform efforts. 53% also now say, Obama is partisan democrat.
Things to watch going forward. Jobs numbers... Passage or stoppage of Universal Health Care... and tax rates.
Overall not good things working for him presently...
