According to Sally Field's thinking...

Mothers would not have gone to war to end slavery. Glad to know that Sally would be ok with one human being thinking it their priviledge to own another one...

Mothers would not have gone to war to save the Jews from Holocaust or the Nazi expansion across Europe/World...

Mothers would not have gone to war and attempted to help the persecuted WOMEN of Afghanistan...

And Mothers evidently would most certainly have not gone to war to protect future generations of her own citizens...

And in addition to all of this craziness, what about mothers who have killed, injured, mamed, and molested children?

What about mothers (exception to the rule of course) who get so caught up in their own pursuit of materialism that they believe that giving their children nannies is just as good as giving their own time and energy to their children?

What about mothers who have crucified decent fathers in courtrooms, lied to judges, juries, and their own children - just to squeeze a tad more alimony or child support money from a man THEY walked out on, cheated on, and eventually left?

What about those mothers Sally?

It seems to me the world is not divided up between mothers and fathers, or even men and women - but moral people, and immoral.

Discernment and wisdom tells us to learn the differences between them and to mimic the good.

I've had a fondness for Sally Field going back to her Gidget days - but the prattling twitish thinking she had on display last night left me very much reaching for something to throw at her...

Where have all the "smart" people gone?

To paraphrase ....
....Drew Carey, if women were in charge:

England: Hello....this is England. Just wanted to know why you're invading me.....

America (hands on hips): Oh....I think you know...!

England: No really...what did I do....?

America: Hmph!!

To get back to Sally Field
"If mothers ruled the world, there wouldn't be any G*&%#+mned wars in the first place."

Anyone who believes that has never stood in the women’s shoe department during a Macy’s sale.

If you notice...
.. the quote attributed to Barbara Bush was made on March 18th. The Iraq war started on the 20th. So her comments were not about what was currently happening since the war had not yet started, but about what MIGHT happen. What she was referring to was the pre-war media going crazy with speculation about how many will die and how many body bags will be needed etc. etc. As you recall, their estimates were very high, and quite wrong.

She was dismissing media hype, not the evils of war.

Doctaz
Right. And that tired, mean old woman, Barbara Bush, did indeed say those things about those body bags.

Did you not understand that Christian was quoting that evil old b^%&*h verbatim?

They weren't his comments, they were our former First Lady.

What a great Republican she is.

I hope this doesn't offend your ...
delicate ears, Christian Manfred, but those body bags hold soldiers who went gave their lives so that you can have the freedom to spew your hatred.

Evil Mother
Here's my idea of an evil mother:

"But why should we hear about body bags, and deaths, and how many, what day it's gonna happen, and how many this or what do you suppose? Or, I mean, it's, it's not relevant. So why should I waste my beautiful mind on something like that?" -

Barbara Bush on "Good Morning America," March 18, 2003.
