"When fascism comes to America it will be wrapped in a flag and carrying a cross." - Sinclair Lewis, American Writer, 1885-1951
Patriotism is a love of one's country and its people as distinguished from nationalism which is a love of government.
|
|
Was Juan Peron a fascist? Huck combines authoritarian tendencies with protectionism and a taste for expansion of the welfare state. Sounds like a Peronist to me.
And since he's seeking the Presidency with a cross in one hand and a flag in the other, it does pretty much sound like he's fulfilling the requirements of the Sinclair Lewis quote. |
|
|
Rather than having knee-jerk reactions, people need to analyze the substance of this quote in the context of present-day events and rhetoric. |
|
|
I'm a conservative Christian, Iraq veteran, and I've known a baptist preacher or two. Having one for a president concerns me greatly - Dr. Paul's warning rings true to me. |
|
|
He quoted Sinclair on the issue of using religion for political reasons. He didn't accuse anyone of anything and specifically tried to make that apparent. But of course you still chopped it up. |
|
|
Ron Paul is himself a patriotic Christian so your assertion that he is calling patriotic Christians fascists is totally unfounded. Do not confuse patriotism and nationalism. Do not confuse Christianity with those who would use Christ for political gain. The Roman Empire was allegedly Christian but the Christian religion suffered greatly under Rome because when Christianity becomes the status quo then it doesn't cost anything to be a Christian. In fact it is politically advantageous to claim that one is a Christian. Nazi Germany was allegedly based in Christianity but we all know that they were not adhering to the principles outlined by Christ. Please take the effort to actually understand the context of what he said and not react in such a knee-jerk fashion. |
|
Anyone can hang a flag. What really makes you a patriot?
Paul was right to use that quote. Paul is a patriot. |
|
|
As Damo said, Ron Paul did not accuse anyone specifically of being a fascist. Having said that, perhaps you know yourself better than we do and if the shoe fits... |
|
Fascism is an authoritarian political ideology (generally tied to a mass movement) that considers individual and social interests subordinate to the interests of the state or party. Fascists seek to forge a type of national unity, usually based on (but not limited to) ethnic, cultural, racial, and religious attributes. - Wikipedia
I'm a conservative Christian who is taking seminary classes. The problem with Mike Huckabee is a confusion and conflation of church and state. I'm all for doing the right thing and worshipping Christ. The problem is that Mr. Huckabee has confused law and gospel. When he should be just (Dumond etc.) he exercises grace. Where he should be gracious (national ban on smoking) he exercises justice. I don't want a pastor in chief. My pastor is great. I want someone who understands the Constitution and doesn't trot out Jesus to win votes. Haven't we learned with George Bush?
Ron Paul has served our country for 20 years and understands and has voted for the Constitution without wavering. He is a committed Christian as well who believes the Bible as inerrant. He however is a patriot-not a nationalist. He will allow the church to be the church while keeping the State reigned in by the Constitution.
We are living in an age of fascism in America and we don't understand our history, theology, or political science well enough to notice it.
May God grant us repentance, reformation, and revival in our land. |
|
|
What flag did you fly before 9-11? Why did it take 9-11 for you to hang an American flag and call yourself a "Patriot"? Nine 11 represents whats WRONG with America. Ron Paul represents what's RIGHT that remains in America. |
|
Everyone already made all the salient points.

and KMC too when it comes to distorting something by omission.
He was asked about that new Huckabee ad with what appears to be a cross in the background. There are others who have also been critical of this commercial.
"Way to reach out to the fly-over country Congressman. Why don't you accuse us of holding weekly Bible "burnings"... you mean "studies."
He's much too polite and in any event I doubt you can even define fascism. For me I'll accuse KMC of gross ignorance.
I agree with Lew Rockwell.com about this: http://www.lewrockwell.com/blog/lewrw/archives/017829.html
Film clip of Paul. Note how they cut to a break right after Paul quoted Sinclair.

I'm a Christian, and would never even think of pledging allegiance to a flag. Sorry, but CHrist explained that He was not of this world, and neither should we be. Christ was offered political power, and he declined it. No one should believe that God supports one candidate over another, or how else would dictators get elected in elections?
There is no flag in my home, and there will never be. The only State (i.e., country) that I am a citizen of properly is of the State of Illinois. The United States is merely a union of 50 countries that were supposed to use the Federal government to keep the States in check regarding perverting people's rights.
A Christian who worships a flag is not really reading his or her bible properly, or enough. |
|
I strongly agree with many of the man's views...
It's his harsh denial of the fact that terrorists are attempting to presently slaughter us that is worrisome... |
|
"Ron Paul: 'When fascism comes it will be wrapped in a flag and carrying a cross'..."
The Religious Right wrapped up in the American Flag brought us King George Bush.
"Say what you will about the sweet miracle of Unquestioning Faith. I consider a capacity for it Terrifying." Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.

Paul has never claimed otherwise. If you would crawl out of your box and read something other than crap from NRO or the Weekly Standard you might know this, unless you are lying. I suspect this is the case with you. Enough people here have pointed Paul's position out to you.
KMC crackpot might watch this conference put on by Paul and Scheuer about educating Giuliani, but he won't:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DAt6Pf7jZjA
Hannity has nothing on you when it comes to spreading lies and disinformation. |
|
This already happened in 2000. GW touted his Christian faith much during that campaign and I took the hook. What ensued was anything but Christian leadership. -Unjust Wars -Patriot Act -Military Commission Act -Government corruption and secrecy
Whenever a candidate is touting his faith now, I just think of them as modern day Pharisee. Paul is a Christian who actually lives out his faith rather than just showcase it. You should try readying Matthew 6 during your next bible study.
|
|
"Paulpots get it all wrong... I strongly agree with many of the man's views...
It's his harsh denial of the fact that terrorists are attempting to presently slaughter us that is worrisome..."
To pick a nit...He doesn't deny it he only diagnoses the cause and the cure differently than you do. If we define it to just Islamofascism in general then the only solution is to turn the whole Middle East to glass. Not a very Christian thing to do. Pick up Scheurer, Pape, Johnson, etc and give em a read if you havne't already. They are experts in their fields. |
|
No one is calling you a "facist", Kevin McCullough.
We are all calling you an egotistical moron for thinking that Ron Paul quoting Sinclair Lewis has anything to do with you.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinclair_Lewis
A little self-perspection on the facist part, Kev?
I bet if he dares to quote Mark Twain or Maya Angelou you'll come back and tell us he just insulted your mother.
Keep that tin-foil hat on for protection, Kev. Sinclair Lewis is out to get you!! |
|
Might as well burn most of todays Bibles. Power and politics have changed and distorted Yahweh's word to fit the will of men for hundreds of years now. Christians have accepted this wholeheartedly for the most part. They care no more for their God than their country. This is evident by their disregard and indifference to ancient biblical texts (dead sea scrolls) and genuinely inspired governmental documents (constitution). Yahweh does not change. Christianity will be judged.
As for Gov. Huckabee, Mitt Romney and thier religion:
James 1:26, If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one's religion is worthless.
As for Dr. Paul's message of liberty:
James 1:25, But he that looked into the perfect Torah (law), that of freedom, and continues in it, not becoming a hearer that forgets, but a doer of work, this shall be blessed in his doing of the Torah (law). |
|
even more than you think!
"I strongly agree with many of the man's views...
It's his harsh denial of the fact that terrorists are attempting to presently slaughter us that is worrisome..."
If I point out that Ron Paul has never denied that terrorists are attempting to slaughter us and HAS stated that terrorism is a threat, would that change your view point?
Is there any room for the argument that maybe, just MAYBE the best way to fight anti-American terror is not invading countries (which inevitably causes large amounts of civilian casualties), overthrowing governments and nation building? I believe their is room, and I believe that you would agree, even if you do not agree with the policy itself.
Look into this Kevin.
|
|
Way to go there Mr McCullough, by taking Ron Paul's quote out of context and not including the entire statement you have officially let the world know of your incompetence as a journalist.
And by calling Ron Paul, Ron PaulPOT, you have just uncovered yourself as anti-American. Anyone that compares Ron Paul to a Communist leader is no patriot in my book.
Ron Paul has spent the past 20+ years serving this country in the United States Congress. His voting record is impeccable, he has never used the tax payer's money for personal gain, and has never once voted against the Constitution.
Not to mention his honorable service in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era.
He is a devout Christian, but unlike Huckabee, doesn't use his religion for personal gain. He lets his character, morals, and political views garner him the passionate support he has.
Using the logic in your article, with you having called Dr Paul, PaulPot, you have officially called him and all of his supporters Communists.
You sir, are a disgrace. |
|
KMC - "I strongly agree with many of the man's views... It's his harsh denial of the fact that terrorists are attempting to presently slaughter us that is worrisome..."
When you try to incite fear among Americans by crying ...the terrorists are coming! the terrorists are coming!...., you sound like Al Gore crying .....global warming will bring catastrophe! global warming will bring catastrophe!.... Please understand that we recognize your tactics of inducing fear to promote more government control. It's the same tactic used by leftists like Al Gore. More and more "emergency" powers. Americans are waking up to the fact that when liberty is sacrificed for perceived security, you lose both.
By the way, if the terrorists are coming, why do we have a wide open borders policy. Ron Paul has much better solutions for dealing with the threat of terrorists that are effective, constitutional, and preserve and protect liberty.

|
Paul is right that we are nation-building in Iraq. Huck's essay (announced this weekend) saying virtually the same thing may be a shameless attempt to get Paul voters/independents, but that's fine by me.
A Huck/Paul ticket (or vice versa) would give us a social conservative who's slightly flawed on fiscal matters, and a fiscal conservative who's slightly flawed on social matters (and it's a very slight flaw for Paul to be against the human life & marriage amendments on a federalism basis, because at least he still has the right opinion on social issues).
These two guys, between them, satisfy the 3-legged Republican stool analogy often used: Fiscal, social, and foreign-policy conservatives.
Every other top-tier GOPer has baggage in at least 1 of these 3 areas. (Hunter/Tancredo & other lower-tiers would be fine candidates but don't have traction and aren't likely to get any, this late in the game). |
|
but, i have to say that you waving your flag only after 9/11 says everything about your supposed patriotism
the art of propaganda is nothing new...and if you want one candidate in the GOP race who has nothing but his own credibility and principles on the line then look paul's way
but if you want to play favorites...if you want to buy into the 'nut' persona the media smear campaign is set on doing...then go for it...but don't expect the comments page to be flooded w/ accolades
we don't appreciate it because he represents this supposed 'foreign' idea of what our forefathers were all about...how many times do you hear ron paul quoting his god? his religion?
or using his 50+ marriage against the other candidates (giulani especially), his 30+ consistent record (romney), or even touching on the mudslinging techniques these other 'fascists'(mccain-huckabee's 'honor speech') are set on using
he's got credibility and principles...and it's pure hope for some of us and for others like yourself...
it's terrifying
(you might wanna' get that checked out) |
|
|
I fear the mindset of people like KMC more than anything else. The absence of critical thinking, lack of logic and reason combined with lying is a sight to behold. Everything that Bin Laden set out to do is being done by brain dead people like KMC, i.e., in order to save liberty we have to gut the Bill of Rights and ignore the Constitution. Some "conservative". |

'When fascism comes it will be on a Blimp!' |

The terrorists are coming! Or have you forgotten 911 already? |

Or more likely a red pick up truck that served the purpose of a campaign prop in the past. Fortunately, it appears Fred isn't going anywhere except back to DC where he can resume his career as a lobbyist. |

Ron Paul hit the nail on the head! |
|
Ron Paul supporters remind me of teenage girls having a fit over seeing the beatles play on the Ed Sullivan show. They worship Ron Paul like an idol. No one is really all that suprised to see Ron Paul raise millions of dollars in a day. The average Ron Paul supporter seems like they would sell house and home and everything they own to donate it to Ron Paul, and donate it under a hundred different names if they had to.
Ron Paul just lost even more credit with me than he already had lost. A shame, I did like some of his positions, though he ruined them with some really horrible other positions.
Notice that when faced with Ron Paul's replusive comments the Ron Paul worshipers own up to and justify his words rather than disagree?
Ron Paul's understand of peace is also horribly foolish. It is the same hippie type idea of peace, which ignores the need to keep the peace.
Ron Paul comes across to sane people as being arrogant and forceful everytime time he goes off yelling which is most of the time he speaks. This is not a good combination when you consider that most people are not idiotic enough to fall for such and do not suffer from the same rebellious psychology. This drives people away and it gets old quick.
As I have said before I'm actually gald that this nut is able to express his views. It shows to the world that atleast the GOP is good enough to let just about anyone express their views. It also shows the Jim Jones, oops, I mean Ron Paul supporters that few people want their man, though they will probably come up with some sort of conspiracy theory as to why they lost. |
|
Do you think you stayed on topic at all or just attacked someone's supporters whom Ron Paul has no control over anyway?
I don't see what your post has to do with the topic at hand, maybe you can enlighten us?
|
|
|
You miss the point of why US Ron Paul supporters are so energized...IT IS THE MESSAGE OF FREEDOM, NOT THE MESSANGER. |
|
Ron Paul and his supporters are the same thing.
Look you people have got to start getting past your idolizing a cannidate and consider some honesty critizism. I know you won't do it, but i'll ask anyways.
If any cannidate was all of a sudden endorsed by and super strongly supported by a large and significant number of people of a certain strong belief that I disagree with like lets just say pro-abortionists, then I would want to know what was up with that.
I don't think I would be a bad person for asking, and I would not accept someone just saying that they cannot help who supports them when they have such a large following.
For example if Romney all of a sudden got masses of strong supporters who were of the militant homosexual agenda, I would want Romney to respond to that, to make sure that he wasn't one of them or rather a big supporter of their views.
It only makes sense.
If a cannidate has a large and significant number of supporters who are of a certain view, it is pretty safe to conclude that the cannidate shares this view, unless he clearly says that he is completely against their views, and says this in a very clear way.
Freedom to the Ron Paul supporters seems to mean anarchy and rebellion. |
|
The subject was Ron Paul's attack on Christianity. I was making a long comment about how Ron Paul has proved himself to be one of his own. A Ron Paul supporter.
They don't like Christians because Christians generally obey government as long as it does not go against the Faith. They give to Caeser what is Caeser's and to God what is God's. They are not a people who seek anarchy or lawlessness.
The rebellious nature of the Ron Paul supporter to believe that he is just so mistreated in society because of restrictions on smoking indoors, and transfats and other petty issues like this, go far beyond the passions of most Americans.
To the Ron Paul supporter freedom means absolute and total anarchy where they are the king of the world and their rebellious nature does not have to acknowledge any authority at all.
To most Americans freedom means having a good safe nation to live in, where you are free to believe what you want, and express it, where certain rights to you are protected. |
|
|
What are you talking about? If you have a specific question ask it without the gobbly gook you wrote above. |
|
|
Never mind, your second part just showed up. Dr. Paul isn't attacking Christianity. He does have a problem with warmongering wrapped in a religious mantle. The only justification for the US to ever go to war is under the just war doctrine, period. None of this pre-emption crap. |
|
Press Release by the campaign on Romney’s need to make the religious speech. http://www.ronpaul2008.com/press-rel...t-be-an-issue/
Newsweek interview with Ron Paul directly discussing Huckabee’s ads and attack of Romney http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T1_Murs9CD4
Video of Huckabee at 2004 Governor’s convention blatantly using God for fascist purposes for GWB. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2yj_okz7ZwI
The last one is the best example of what Huckabee’s end game is about-using religion to get votes.

You wrote above:
"If a cannidate has a large and significant number of supporters who are of a certain view..."
Ron Paul doesn't have a supporters of just one view, his supporters have all different views on all different subjects, that's what makes him such an appealing candidate.
If you support freedom and liberty then you should be a Ron Paul supporter.
He does want a "good safe nation to live in, where you are free to believe what you want, and express it, where certain rights to you are protected." But in order to have that, you have to have protection from the very government that tries to infringe upon those very rights you are trying to protect.
The only threat to our country is from within. We will never be destroyed from the outside - our downfall will be our declining economy and our sacrificing of our liberties in order to stay safe from the "terrorists."
Ron Paul supporters are passionate about the message of liberty, of getting control of our lives and our country back from a government that has way overstepped its bounds. It's a shame you don't see that. When you wake up one day and all of your liberties are gone then maybe you will realize what we're talking about.
This country was founded by a revolt - so to ridicule and insult Dr Paul's supporters because they want change and to say "To the Ron Paul supporter freedom means absolute and total anarchy where they are the king of the world and their rebellious nature does not have to acknowledge any authority at all." is asinine at best. You're just showing your ignorance of what all this is about.
Can you even offer anything to contradict any of Dr Paul's views? Or can you only muster childish attacks on his supporters?
I'm waiting... |
|
Thanks for the links, especially the one about Huckabee.
Good comment by Paul on Romeny. The press release link seems to be missing and the one about Huckabee struck me as blasphemous to say the least. There is no way I would ever support this opportunistic zealot. |
|
|
Thank you for those most excellent excerpts! Too bad we live in a country where so many look to their own government and not within themselves to understand what Freedom is all about. |
|
TNboy,
You build up a straw man just to tear it down.
Ron Paul is merely shedding light on how some politicians wear religion on their sleeve in an effort to advance their political campaigns.
If the politician is able to convince voters that God is on his side, the politician provides himself cover from answering hard questions. Once the politician has built a substantial following using this tactic, it becomes taboo to ask the hard questions, because you will be perceived as questioning God's will. |
|
"Windrip's vaunted "New Freedom," which toted the beauty of American freedom and branded anyone who disagreed or even questioned the President, as anti-freedom and anti-America while quietly killing freedom."
This sort of rhetoric is what one usually heard in the past from the neocon mouth pieces on the radio on a daily basis. Now they are trying to scare everyone by hollering about Hillary and Obama and the need to get behind an establishment Republican. |
|
|
I, too, was taken in by George W. Bush in 2000 with his use of the name of Jesus. Bush used the name of the Lord to gain political power. Because of that, I have become extremely wary of any candidate that talks excessively about their faith and uses the name of our Lord Jesus to draw in gullible Christians. In the 2008 presidential election MIKE HUCKABEE is that man who is drawing in susceptible Christians with the clever speech and misuse of scripture to justify socialism/fascism. |
|
to me. Or do the MeatHeads not need logic, only heavy rocks to lift over their heads? And ever-expanding governments to which to sacrifice their liberty?
Anyway, for those of you who can reconcile emotional realities with mathematical realities, please enjoy this week's "Texas Straight Talk" from Rep. Paul.
The Importance of Fiscal Responsibility in Government
As the year draws to a close, the battle over spending in Washington is heating up. The Democrats want to expand government healthcare, while the President has vetoed the second attempt to expand SCHIP. The latest version of the State Children's Health Insurance Program would have expanded the entitlement program and raised taxes, just as the earlier version did and the President showed fiscal restraint with his veto. Reducing our entitlement programs here at home is not against saving the children, as the rhetoric goes, it is about saving the country's economy. The fact is we have huge trade imbalances, massive deficits, and a $9 trillion national debt, which balloons to $60 trillion if unfunded future liabilities in social security and other promises we have made to Americans are included.
|
|
We are at a crucial point in history right now. We must think very carefully about our next moves. There is coming a time, if we continue on this path, when all that our tax dollars and government revenues will be able to do is pay interest on the mountain of debt we have compiled in the past few decades. That will mean no government programs or services of any kind will be funded, yet future generations of Americans will still struggle under a crushing tax burden with nothing to show for it. That is why fiscal restraint and common sense with the budget are so vitally important in government. The difference now is that our printing presses at the Federal Reserve are getting worn out as we have expanded our money supply to the breaking point with yet another rate cut this week. As the dollar falls, it is losing its reserve currency status as many countries are shifting to the Euro or the Chinese yuan or other currencies. The more that trend continues, the weaker we become on the world stage. Those foreign governments and entities that enabled us to spend so much for so long are wearing thin and cutting us off. The truth is our enemies won't need a nuclear weapon to harm us if we keep spending phantom dollars at the current rate. In fact, they won't need to do anything but sit back and watch as we spend ourselves into oblivion. Historically, empires fail because they run out of money, or more accurately, run out of the ability to spend or inflate. Unfortunately, that is exactly the direction we are headed. We need to control spending, immediately, before it is too late. I applaud the President for his veto of the SCHIP expansion bill. It is a step in the right direction. But it is just one small step. What our economy needs right now is to go full gallop away from the tax and spend policies that have gotten us into this mess. |
|
"Somebody explain Kevin's logic to me. Or do the MeatHeads not need logic, only heavy rocks to lift over their heads? And ever-expanding governments to which to sacrifice their liberty?"
I was hoping you would explain it to me, but never mind, there isn't any. There is just a mindless hatred for Paul.
|
|
I'm sorry but most of Ron Paul supporters seem to me like something that I don't want to have anything to do with. And Ron Paul is just like them.
If I may ask, just what rights do you think that the government is infrenging on?
There is a public access radio station out here that plays wacky conspiracy shows, and that type of talk reminds me a lot of them, which has perminately driven me away from them. They make a leftist look like a patriot. Really that is not possible, but some how they made it possible. They are so hateful of wire taping because they think that the government is going to find out about their meth lab.
Not my kind of views. At all.
I am glad that Ron Paul is able to express his views, but I by no means agree with them.
You guys support who you will, but I am going to say what I think also. |
|
|
quit his day job. You are terrible at what you do. Do people actually pay you for this? |
|
"I'm sorry but most of Ron Paul supporters seem to me like something that I don't want to have anything to do with."
The feeling is mutual. I'm with the guy that talks about the constitution. You know, that thing that public office holders (politicians), soldiers, police officers, etc. swear to uphold? And if that document does not matter to you than what does? Are our soldiers who swear to uphold the constitution from enemies foreign and domestic stupid for doing so? Do they not understand the problems we face? You're whole understaning of reality is so stupid and would fall down like house of cards if you were capable of inteligent thought. I feel sorry for you. |
|
said the following, in summing up the Sinclair Lewis novel:
"an indefinite state of crisis is declared, with freedom tossed aside 'until the threat passes.'"
Witness the eerie similarities in Chancellor Palpatine's speech before the Galactic Senate in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002).
George Lucas has been trashed for the quality of the new "prequel" trilogy compared to the original 3 films. But actually, the subtext of Palpatine pulling strings to make himself Emperor throughout the prequels is genius.
Maybe Lucas was just plagiarizing Lewis! :) Although, he said all along he was borrowing from Nixon and the Roman Empire for inspiration. |
|
|
You do realize that Ron Paul is a Christian, right? He is wary of the use of religion as a political tool. |
|
You don't have to go to Sinclair Lewis to see where Lucas may have gotten his inspiration for the Palpatine emergency powers. Just look at our own history.
"....I am prepared under my constitutional duty to recommend the measures that a stricken Nation in the midst of a stricken world may require. These measures, or such other measures as the Congress may build out of its experience and wisdom, I shall seek, within my constitutional authority, to bring to speedy adoption. But in the event that the Congress shall fail to take one of these two courses, and in the event that the national emergency is still critical, I shall not evade the clear course of duty that will then confront me. I shall ask the Congress for the one remaining instrument to meet the crisis--broad Executive power to wage a war against the emergency, as great as the power that would be given to me if we were in fact invaded by a foreign foe....." - FDR, Inaugural Address, March 6, 1933. |
|
(correction: FDR's inauguration was on March 4, 1933)
Check out Senate Report 93-549 issued in 1973 for the status of the ongoing states of emergency in our nation declared since March 1933.
Once the emergency is declared, the common law is abolished, the Constitution is abolished and we fall under the absolute will of Government, public policy.
All the government needs to continue is to have public opinion on their side. If public opinon can be kept, in sufficient degree, on the side of the government, statutes, laws and bills can continue to be passed. The Constitution has no meaning. The Constituion is suspended. It has been for 75 years. We're not under law. Law has been abolished. We're under a system of public policy, (War Powers). |
|
|
Ron Paul can single-handedly restore the Constitution if elected President by issuing a Presidential Proclamation declaring that national emergencies no longer exist, declaring an end to all wars (war on poverty, drugs, terror, etc....), and declaring peace in the land. See Senate Report 93-549 to understand why a presidential proclamation such as this would restore the Constitution. All the Executive Branch Agencies set up to deal with all those emergencies will then have to be disbanded, discontinued, and abolished. Freedom, liberty, peace and prosperity would abound throughout the country! |
|
|
No, matter your political party affiliation, and setting aside your thoughts on issues. We all need to remember what it is to be an American Citizen. We need to make sure our elected representatives obey their Oath of Office and keep their Oath of Allegiance. See http://tinyurl.com/2znnvl Know whom you are voting for. |
|
How do you think false prophets get their toehold? They wrap themselves in the religion of the day and profess that they are here to save you.
Men of real faith do not need to advertise it or promote it. The more they do, the more you better be prepared for a bad outcome. |
|
Had our flags hanging before 9/11, and we don't want another fiscally liberal interventionist bible thumber representing our party... again.
That is what got us into the mess we're in.
I joined the Army in 1998 as an infantryman, was deployed to the idiotic war in Kosovo, and have voted Republican in every election since turning 18... and I support Ron Paul.
The Party has lost its way, and Huckabee is the easiest way to flush it down the toilet.
The fascist comment was a quote from someone else, and its true. The easiest way to avoid actual policy debate is to bring patriotism and religion into it. The truth is that on substance, Huckabee is weak, bottom line. |
|
|
Wow is all I can say. Musclehead? The name matches the level of thought. Keep up the good work patriot. |
